Bronco project pt 10, 9 inch build, truss, shave, disk brakes

in this video i in stall disk brakes on a Ford 9in axle, weld on a truss and back bone then finish up with a shave. check back for the next video where i finish it up with a ARB locker, track bar and a skid plate.

Looking into shaving mine. What size roughly plate is needed to cover the hole back in? Did you use regular A36 hot rolled mild steel? I am considering 1018 cold rolled or maybe even AR400. Not sure how difficult the AR400 might be to weld tho.
