I have one and I don't like it. It worked during the first days when I had a ton of milk, but now a couple months into my breastfeeding, it doesn't do anything anymore. It just doesn't get any milk out and it hurts like hell. It doesn't compare to a real pump. It's basically a collecting device, which ....is pricey. I can collect it just as well into a cup.

When you first started using the haakaa, did you start off with a stream of milk or drops? If drops, how long did it take for you get the suction to build volume to stream? How often do you use the haakaa? My haakaa was recently delivered and I’m getting drops.

@@ayshakhan3807 sorry to reply a year later. But no, never a stream. The most I would get is from after I pumped with a electric pump whatever dripped out.
@@ChakaBee777 are you drinking enough water, eating enough, pumping religiously every 2-3 hours to produce? I didn’t have much luck with the haakaa but continued to use my electric pump. Don’t give up!!!
@@marlana2817 on the Haakaa i only get 30 mls of foremilk. Everyone speaks so highly of it but I’m really not that impressed. I would rather use the milkies I think . I’m producing milk fine. I have a bit of an oversupply.

Especially 1st time moms, it's good to catch ur 1st milk/colostrum when u nurse the 1st time !!! IMO
Just had my baby July 3rd. The lactation nurse suggested I purchase this to catch my letdown. My breast’s are always leaking. I ordered mine a few days ago on amazon amazon sells them fur 12
So this doesn’t help with wanting to increase supply? I’m thinking of wearing this every few hours to increase supply.
The more milk you take out the more you'll produce. It doesn't work like a pump does, it won't be able to empty your breast but it's a good tool when you're breast are engorged or even when you're feeding your baby use it on your other breast and it'll be as if you were feeding more which helps with milk production. It's all about supply and demand.

Does the haakaa empty your breast? My son eats on both sides right now. I really want to try this because I leak alot when he is eating but I just dont want it to empty my one boob.

Camila Abellás it’s not like a pump pump but it does have suction to remove milk from your breast. Which will help like she said when your engorge, your pumping or your feeding your baby.
