Thank you for this!!! I’m 40+2 and wanted to know how to use this when I get back to seeing patients!
I’m 5 days postpartum and I have the Haakaa, Spectra S2, and the Elvie. And I must say that the Elvie is by far the best.
I like that you can set different suction levels for each breast. It also stimulates your breast before pumping begins. You can control it with an app you can program it and you can also manually control it. It’s super easy and the apps lets you know how much milk you’ve collected per breast and in total plus you can save your results to track how much milk you produced for that day.
Although pricey, it actually works. It help to regulate my engorged breast.
If you can afford it buy it.
Thank you for this review as I used it to get better acquainted with the Elvie. ❤
Can you copy and paste the Amazon link for the Elvie please?
I have the spectra s2 and looking at getting the elvie for on the go and work and there's so much info out there! I'm glad I saw this comment!
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I got the spectra based on your recommendation and love it. Now that I'm about to get back to work I'm getting the Elvie and I'm so happy at the time you've saved me doing these videos
I love love love my elvie. I just wear a good sports bra with it and it works for me. Just another option. So glad you did this video
I bought the elvie stride and I love it so far, but definitely can't use it as my main pump because I don't get as much as I do with my spectra s1 or my spectra gold.
I'm curious about how you feel about the willow go, since they changed the suction style back to more traditional suck and release style. And also the elvie stride, since they added tubes back into the mix.
Aint gonna do an actual unboxing, cause nobody’s got time for that. 🤣🤣🤣🙌🏽
Great information! Thanks for sharing :)
I am a first time mama and i have no idea where to start with my elvie. I love watching your videos. I am learning a lot!!❤️❤️
How is it 😢? I want to buy it but still not sure
Hello Sarah!
Thank you for all the content you have been sharing. It is my first pregnancy and I really had only basic knowledge about pregnancies and no experience with babies. So your channel has been really informative and big support about learning about the topic. Here I remember in one of your videos you recommended some books to read for new moms, but I really can't find the video as its title was about something else. It would be really great if you could make a recommendation video for the books to read or just somewhere in your channel they would be listed out by various topics. As this topic is new to me, it is difficult to distinguish the books backed up with science or by medical professionals from the books which are just someone's own trial-by-error experiences.
Well said!!
Thanks for the video!!!
You’re welcome!
Thank you! ❤
Im very nervous about breast feeding in general. I’m 22 weeks with my first ever baby. I didn’t even know wearable pumps were a thing until now.
Hello doctor, on a different topic, any thoughts about placenta encapsulation! I’m thinking about it…
I’m so sad one of mine isn’t suctioning at all and I only used it once. I tried cleaning it and assembling back using their support videos 😢
I’m sure it has some type of warranty . You should contact them
I’m due in September and can’t wait for my baby girl to get here I’ve been hearing about both of those breast pumps but I’ve also heard momcozy is just as great and it’s very cost affective. I’m going to need a wearable breast pump when I go back to work of course and when I’m at home with her. In all honesty I’m torn I kinda don’t want to spend $500 on a breast pump especially if I know I’m not going to use it for that long.
I’m out on unpaid maternity leave and I had to basically spend my last on getting this pump (just ordered last night) because I’m OVER being confined to a socket with both my hands full while my 2 week old screams her head off at every moment I put her down. This wearable pump is Finna change my life 🥴🥴🙌🙌
@@beautiful_wonderfullymade I love my momcozy I just had my baby girl last week on the 19th at 4:44am she’s still in the NICU because we caught a virus but she’s doing very well bout to be discharged she takes the breast and bottle very well. But the hospital was really trying to sell me on a regular breast pump hooked up to the wall and everything. I love my momcozy just make sure you have the right size flange as well cause I had to get a bigger size love.
@@kaylabbones3281 congratulations on your baby girl and I hope you guys get better very soon ❤️ I wish I would have looked more into the momcozy because that elvie is PRICYYYYY! Those standard wall pumps are just not it! 🙅🏽♀️🙅🏽♀️🙅🏽♀️
@@beautiful_wonderfullymade yaasss!!! I’ve came in contact with some moms while I was randomly shopping at target in the baby section and we got the talking she also kinda regrets that she got the elvie because she’s been having issues with her left one and this isn’t my first time hearing that. I told her my experience with momcozy and she was actually looking into that breast pump as well. I’m happy I weighed out my options before I jumped on it and got the elvie because at the end of the day they all have the same motor just different name and different styles.
@@kaylabbones3281 yes you’re absolutely right !
How do you sterilise the pump? Do you have to?
I returned my elvie. I compared it with my spectra s1 , and spectra made more milk then elvie. So I don’t see any reason to choose elvie for such money. And elvie doesn’t give you options to be free while pumping. Anyway you will sit and pump in quite atmosphere. Plus it was very painful and leaked. Don’t waist your money and milk.
Do i wash it every after use? Or at the end of the day like the wired pumps
How many times a day do you use your Elvie? Does the heat generated by the pump cause any potential harm to breast or breast tissue or skin?
To me the heat from the pump is just a little warm, the same heat you feel from body heat from holding your baby skin to skin. Personally I think it helps as warmth increases blood flow and therefore can increase milk production so for me it feels like a lactation warmer.
What do you do if your flange size is 15? That’s so much of a difference from the options they have available! With ny medela hand pump I can add in universal flange inserts to make it the right size.. can you do that with the elvie pump?
elvie makes nipple shield inserts!
maymom inserts also work
*Borrowing my husbands YT, I did order this one still 7weeks left until I can try it or 6. BUT I'm so scared hahaha to do something wrong🤣 How do I nnow what mode is right for me and what size flange!?♡ Baby 3 and I can't just sit arround stuck so that is why I did buy it.*
So, what if 21 mm flanges are to big for you? Is there an attachment.
They go down to 16 mm I believe now!
Can I get an honest answer from an obgyn? I'm 40 weeks and 3 days and my care group won't let us schedule induction until Monday my 41st week. Why can't I schedule it now for next week if I'm probably going to need to schedule it Monday? Just curious from an obgyn perspective why can't someone schedule it ahead of time? It's really unnecessarily stressful to the mom. 🤷♀️
What if your nipples aren't the same size?
Another question is how long do i pump? Is 30 mins long?
My baby usually breast feeds for 30-45 mins
What bra is recommend to use with this or is any bra fine?
Dr. Have you had your thyroid checked?
I just noticed this. Seconded! Please get checked!
I debated getting this. I see many reviews that these wearable pumps serverly affect supply over time.
I’m a first time mom and want to breast feed as long as I can
Have you experienced supply drops ?
I wouldn't recommend using this all the time. I use my Medela 90% of the time and only use Elvie when I'm driving or very busy around the house. It definitely doesn't get as much out as my Medela does but it was worth it for me for the convenience, as it ensures I never miss a pump session.
@@jaymeebarra5454 yeah I ended up not getting it and I pump with my Medela at night or when I feel engorged
Personally it helped my supply just because I'm able to pump more consistently with a wearable option so for me pumping with a lighter suction was better than not being able to pump at all
Just be conscious of not having it bee your only way of extracting milk since it doesn’t do a great job of fully emptying the breast. If you are also using a traditional pump for some of your sessions and/or also direct breast feeding it works out in my experience. I mostly direct breast feed but try to pump once a day to allow my partner to give a bottle and create some reserve in the freeze for when baby is with her grandparents and this works perfect for that. It also always me to pump and bottle feed when we travel. We just took a long road trip and to not have to stop and get her out of the car seat every time she needed to feed was great. I could sit in the backseat with her. Pump, pour the milk in a bottle and feed her in her car seat it was game changing!
I got mine and regret. So don’t waste your money 💰
How is 21 considered small? I need like a 13.
How I’m supposed to know the size of my nipples ? 😟
I know this video is 6 mo, watching because I just bought an Elvie. But your thyroid is large, like I can see it in your videos. I thought maybe it was the lighting but here in another video and I can see it again. Hope all is well.
lol i have the same shirt
