      My daughter helped with the first one and I'm sure I can convince her to help when I buy our second! Currently have a 6-tier rack with 12" spacing, so room to grow on 5. Only using 4 right now but demand is going up too! Would like to keep all of my racks the same and can do so by simply counting the number of tick marks in between! Will be using your method if the kid's unavailable! Thanks for the tips!

    This video was SO helpful! I am very grateful for all your videos. I have learned a lot. I am growing for myself and as a small side job. I
    am enjoying every minute. I started with sunflowers first. Your video tutorial on growing them gave me everything I needed to know to have repeat success from the beginning. Now I am on to growing radish and have had to expand my setup as friends and coworkers are becoming more interested in being repeat customers. I feel quite accomplished having put a rack together on my own this afternoon. Thanks a million for sharing what you have learned.

    We bought our first microgreen rack just like yours and my husband is putting it together. He is very good at figuring how to do things by himself. Also ordered some seed and can't wait to try growing microgreens. Thanks for all the info. Hoping to start a microgreen business after learning how to grow great microgreens.. Blessings, Mary

    I used bricks to hold my shelves up on their sides. Slid the poles through the holes then walked the shelves out to the spacing. Only rack i built so far as i am brand new to this. Love the vids.

      Thanks so much! yeah that's definitely a good way to do it. I was doing them like that before - I like this way better because the gravity helps to really lock them in place when building that first shelf.

    This video was a Home Run hit!. I went to the description below, order the racks (and lights) , then assembled my racks. It would have been a serious head ache without this video. I work alone. Is there a video for installing the lights?

    Hey Donny, thanks for your reply the other day (can't find it anymore and didn't get the chance to reply). I was the one having trouble finding the NSF Certified racks in the UK. I only shared in case someone else had a problem. I did share my question in your fb group and immediately someone gave me great advice in a matter of minutes! Wanted to let you know, how great the community is, that's what it's all about: supporting each other. :D I haven't even started yet and I've already learned a ton of things! Thank you, keep up the great work! (I look forward to hearing you on Curtis' next interview). Roxana

    I assembled
    two racks before i saw your great video. If you place the bottom rack on the first tick marks you will gain 1" on your shelve spaces and still have 5 1/2 inches for a broom providing you use the wheels.

    • @DonnyGreens
      @DonnyGreens  2 роки тому

      Very nice, I haven't used the wheels, I always keep them stationary and use the feet to level them out

    Hey Donny My son and I just got done putting our first two racks together. When I went to install the sunblaster lighting the daisy chain cords were too short. I checked my spacing and they are all 12 rings showing between the racks like you say in the video. But the cords are about 8 inches too short. Are there other ones you can order?

    Donny Greens! Thank you so much. I have recently learned about the health benefits of microgreens, broccoli sprouts especially. Your info has been so helpful. I have a light and grow space and would like to grow some at least for personal use. Where can I find good seeds?

    Question the shelving being recommended at link is 18" wide but trays are 20" long wouldn't they hang over the edge if shelf?

    • @DonnyGreens
      @DonnyGreens  2 роки тому

      Yes, they hang over the shelf. Thats what you want. With a 24" shelf you are losing valuable grow space in your grow room

    You show an 18" deep rack, but the trays are 10x 20". How does the drop off of 1" per side work? does it effect growth on the edges?

    • @DonnyGreens
      @DonnyGreens  3 роки тому

      Does not effect the growth. The trays will hang over the edges which is OK

    Donny, i saw the webinar with your fb Marketing add from the Urban farmer curtis ....what would you do if all of a sudden 100 new inquiries came over night ?... fb adds are a big lever but you have to be able to lift them and I find it difficult to scale .. thanks for your videos

    • @DonnyGreens
      @DonnyGreens  3 роки тому +2

      I think that's a good problem to have, no? If I got 100 customers overnight I would start growing for them and fill their orders starting 2 weeks from now. I have enough space to do this in my farm which may be an issue for others. Don't forget, you can turn off ads whenever you want. Use them to get the # of customers you feel comfortable getting and then turn them off.
