      I do grow my sunnies and peas no medium, but they do amazingly well. Any of my “not perfect” crops go to my chickens. I’ve had to over grow, bc my techniques have been refined. The girls demand it now, plus their eggs are SO good!

      I'm looking into doing this in Los Angeles. I have like 15+ years of growing and hydro experience, but I'm just getting into Microgreens. Right now, I'm growing 4 trays of Broccoli on a shelf. Each tray is a different experiment. 6 days in, and they look beautiful, but I think I put too many seeds. I'm thinking of starting with broccoli, peas, and radish. It was one of Donny's videos that inspired me to look into it, thank you.

    I don't have the source on me, but, taken from a paper found on ncbi, the best way to make the porphyrin find in the chlorophyll more bio-available is by ingesting dark leafy greens with a good source of vitamin C. Think of peppers, strawberries etc. The vitamin C binds with the porphyrin making it more readily available for the body to absorb and use it for red blood cell production.

    Great video.. Once you harvest the greens, do they regrow? Also do you reuse the soil after harvest?

    • @DonnyGreens
      @DonnyGreens  9 місяців тому

      No you use a new fresh growing medium each time. Some regrow like peas and wheatgrass but the quality isnt as good

    Question----isn't "stacking" the trays the same as blackout? I use a cover with a weight, usually an upside down tray with a weight on it for 1st few days. However, I never see the roots coming through the bottom tray, I use the soil method.

    • @DonnyGreens
      @DonnyGreens  3 дні тому

      No, upside down tray is blackout. Stacking is stacking

    What if you don’t need so much? Or need it more staggered over the weeks? How does the starting and stacking work? For my family and chickens I would only need one tray coming ready for harvest every 2-3 days. How could I plan out starting and stacking to better align with that? Also thank you for such an informative video! It is really helpful in all aspects that I need to think about and learn! ❤
