my buddy just got one of these. rather, i think im more his buddy since he hits me up to work on shit all the time. which isnt an issue. but still, didn really know they had v8's otherwise id purchased one myself. kind of curious to what manual trans these takes and if an LS turbo kit would "bolt" up.
I had an E39 540i befor the E46 and damn what a car. When that M62 was working it was great. But i battled timing chain guides, vanos knock and heaps of leaks. They even have oil passages through the engines mounts. Wild. These things were built to leak
Bro my e90 just recently failed the hood latches I had to remove the fender liner thank God the cable was still attached. Yanked the living crap outa the cable and got it to open. Threw our the latches and installed hood Pins 😅
I felt personally attacked with the ziptied radiator at the end... my e39 540i has the rad tied on the drivers side been like that for 2 years (was gonna be a temp fix...)

I have ordered tons of gaskets. Got new guides and chains, vanos press tool and seals, German auto solutions timing kit ect.
