  • ‪@walkingwithbill‬ explores the Peak District village of Ashford in the Water. Famed for its 17th century Sheepwash bridge with an attached stone enclosure: lambs were placed in the pen on one side of the river and the ewes swam across the river to get to them, shepherds would push them under as they crossed so that their wool would be cleaned before sheering.
