Denbigh | Denbighshire, North Wales
Denbigh (Dinbych in Welsh) the market and former county town for Denbighshire in North Wales. Built around the Castle by the English in around 1282, the town originally lied within the town walls. The town was also the birthplace of Henry Morton Stanley (born John Rowlands) who famously found David Livingstone in central Africa, greeting him with the famous words: 'Dr Livingstone, I presume?' The Castle was captured by Madog ap Llywelyn in 1294-1295; then both Castle and town were burnt in 1400 during the revolt of Owain Glyndŵr. @walkingwithbill takes a walk from the Castle (closed when filming) down to the centre of the town.

Hawarden | Flintshire, North Wales

Hawarden was once on the busy road between Cheshire and Holyhead with heavy goods vehicles passing through to catch the Irish ferries. In the 1980s a new road was built nearby that took the traffic away from the narrow roads of the local towns and villages, it was the North Wales Expressway. Today Hawarden still has traffic but lighter and mainly in the daylight hours. It is famous for being th...

Montgomery, a small border town on the Welsh marches founded by the Normans who built the castle that sits on the rocky crag above the town. With the castle being a formidable defensive position both Llywelyn ap Iorweth (The Great) in 1231 and Owain Glyndwr in the early C15 sacked and burned the town and this was clever because the castle relied on the town below for income. @walkingwithbill ta...

What a lovely day for a lovely walk. So we’re going to see Ewloe at some point? I would very much look forward to that!
@@Hebertella It was a lovely day and I read about Ewloe when I was doing research for the subtitles so yes I have it on my list of places to visit next year. Thanks the comments always appreciated.
Lovely walk Bill - you couldn't have asked for better conditions. Nice and calm today but the RNLI have seen far worse and been out in it. Hats off to them. All the best. Mark
Yes the lifeboat crews go out in weather that most of us wouldn't go out of the house in, and they are all volunteers. Moelfre is a small village with heroic stories. Thanks for the comments Mark.
@@walkingwithbill They do Bill - brave lads. Good to see a bit of the village. A pleasure.
Thank you for the comments. The towns of mid Wales are interesting, and you feel a bit like you are going back in time in some ways, lots of history here.
A nice gentle pace e through the town Bill - I enjoyed that. I was mainly remembering a time when my twin brother Paul and were hiking the river Lugg from source and we passed through the town. I was hoping you would make it down to the bridge. But this was great. It's a lovely town. Mark
Good to see you in my home town Bill. I've had some wild times on those streets. Hereford was looking pretty. All the best. Mark
Thank you for your comment Mark, we visited in August, plenty to see and do and they still haven't built a by-pass to stop the traffic congestion during rush hour.
@@walkingwithbill A pleasure. Re-the bypass not sure if more traffic is the answer. But yeah it gets busy.
Yes it's quite a vibrant place, cannot imagine how busy it is when the festival's in town. Thanks for the comments.
Thank you for your comments. Yes I knew the Ringo had his first gig with the Beatles at Port Sunlight and I did mention it in the captions but when I was there I got the venue wrong when filming, only catching a glimpse of Hulme Hall as I walked past. I agree it's well worth a visit. Train station stops there, so no need to go by car.
I saw your video never showed Hulme Hall first gig the Beatles played when Ringo Starr joined the band. But it's nice someone showing port sunlight doesn't get shown enough
Bookstores AND a castle? Sounds like paradise!
Thanks for the comment, yes a paradise for book lovers.

@@johnward9626 Thank you for your comments always good to hear other people's stories.
Maurice Markovitz had a brother, Max. They established a business between them prior to WW1. When the war came Max volunteered, he never returned.
@colinb5415 All wars are terrible but the first world war especially as many communities/familys lost a whole generation in that war. Thank you for your comments always appreciated.
Very beautiful to look at and happy, relieved of worries. New sub here!
@@offbeatdestination_bd thank you for your comments and also for subscribing. Appreciated.
fantastic walk - lovely village - great vid!
Thank you for the comments , yes it's in a beautiful part of Wales.
Ideal for anyone except the English. If you go into their pubs, that'll show you how much you're appreciated!
I did not visit any pubs so cannot put down my own experience but there were plenty of tourists in some of the pubs I passed. Thanks for the comment.
There’s a very similar story from medieval France, the dog was venerated as St. Guinefort and the Church sent an Inquisitor to stamp out the cult, with only middling success. Another lovely video!
@@Hebertella Yes I have read that this is a story that appears in a few europen countries. Thanks for the comments appreciated.
Thank you for your comments, always appreciated.
Thank you for your comments, will always try and find something different and improve.
amazing video we loved it beautiful shots! got another sub off us here!
Thank you for your comments, appreciated.
Hats off & much appreciation for the British people & Government for preserving many of these extremely beautiful villages, towns & places...Hope the present younger generation and those to follow realize the importance & beauty of these places and continue to preserve them for generations to come. ❤Britain
Thank you for your comments, always appreciated.
How lovely! My daughter is a Horticulture student and I love visiting gardens with her and learning about the plants. I look forward to seeing the other seasons.
Thank you for your comments, I am fortunate to be living close to Bodnant and I thought that showing the garden in different seasons would be interesting.
Thank you for your comments, Beaumaris Is full of history and a interesting place to visit.
Thanks, Bill. Beaumaris is an old haunt of mine. Many fond memories.
This video is so cool. I am a creator who introduces Korea. Let's be friends!😁

Yes, Hathersage is a popular destination for walkers. Thank you for the comment, appreciated.
Love the peak district. Reminds me a bit of Ayrshire. Does that make sence?
I can see what you mean, thank you for the comment, always appreciated.
That was lovely! Jane Eyre is one of my favorite books and now I will have some new mental images the next time I read it.
@Hebertella Thank you for your comments and yes it's good to see what the author saw when she was getting inspiration for her work.
Fantastic stuff. I'm going here next week.
Thanks the midges might be out now so bring some insect repellent just in case. Plenty off footpaths and trails to explore around Dolwyddelan.
@@walkingwithbill Thanks. What's the bus network like on that main road?
There is no bus service, only the railway that runs between Llandudno and Blaenau Ffestiniog.
@@walkingwithbill Thank you.
Thank you for allowing me to hike with you through this beautiful landscape. 🎒🥾🧢☺️
Thanks for your comment it's appreciated.
You had me worried for a while that we would never get to the castle! But the rest of it was lovely too :-)
Thank you for the comment and for watching my video, I must be getting sneaky leaving the best till last 🙈😂.
I have really enjoyed your videos so far. I hope you make many more. I particularly like Welsh history and it’s interesting to see some of the places I’ve only read about.
