I love how broad the age group of people who build models are , I’m 14 and my grandpa got me into the hobby a couple years ago. I love building all sorts of middles from armor models to cars to battleships and I love the connection it brings with it.
I heard the Johan molds were destroyed but you'd think one of the model companies would clone some of those great kits,,,they were very desirable and would go over big today
This will make a great display for vintage race cars and muscle cars. Also saw you using orange sharpie for turn signals red works well on chrome and on clear if you don't have clear paint.
Headlight tip,,, paint those chrome lenses gloss white and before the paint can dry wipe off only the middle so the white fades back to the edge,,,looks pretty real,,,try it you'll like it
My father had a 72 Chevy Pickup in a similar baby blue. It was his competitive Truck Puller. "Little Blue" was the name. Always bring me back seeing that cab and color combo.
Good video ,Thanks well done. I am 53 and have never built a model car. Just started a V8 engine build , assembled some snap togethers. Ready to try the real thing .
I like the way you detailed your models. My dad had a car that was in HotRod Magazine twice and made the cover once. I might have a business deal for you. I will get back to you as soon as I can. Keep up the good work!!!
Hi, I am a new subscriber and half watched a number of your builds.I especially like 5this one.Years ago I was an avid model builder until my young cousin came for a visit and decided that my model cars were just like hot wheels and broke a few.I quit the hobby.now back into it and your videos are a godsend.
Love the old school ramp/wedge truck...now you need to load a sweet gasser on board & head for the local 1320' ✌😎 I have a old photo of Bruce Larson's USA1 Camaro sitting on one of those wedge trucks !
I like the way you built this kit. This kit reminds me why I liked MPC kits back in the day. They didn't cost as much as most Revell kits also. Dirt track racing was a big thing in my area and we used to make race cars. We used the plastic that the parts were molded from to build roll cages. Our creations would have look great on the back of your hauler.
Glad to see this re-released. My goal is to restore the kit my dad built in 1970 when he bought his C10 (now mine) new, duplicate my 70, and duplicate the 71 blazer we had when I was growing up.
WOW!!! Nice build. I have two on order now I am thinking I need a few more. I also learned a few new tricks Thank you. One more thing. I am a new subscriber as well. Thank you.
Awesome job buddy, I love how it came out, man do I enjoy watching your videos we both have fun with your builds it's all about enjoying our hobby..happy modeling...
I finally got one of these the other day so I’m going back and watching the video again. I think I’m going to do it with my grumpys toy on the back of mine, make this the car hauler.
Hi! Thanks for this video and the others. I did never see a real one of these and I won't see one soon for sure as I am not living in U.S.A. But it looks great as it is the normal thing in your videos. This looks great with the tools and I love tools as I do modelling. I think I'd love to buy mpc and other brands of model car directly, but everything that comes out of U.E. is a pain in the ass to get to me... Please keep posting your models.
I want a couple of these. One to build as done here, and a second one to put the ramp on a Ford truck and put the pickup body on a USA-1 monster truck chassis. Sand off the lower body trim, paint it Caddy pearl white and use the USA-1 decals and it will look great. Kitbashing is a fun part of the hobby.
Another great build-up, nice to see this kit reissued. I'll have to add another one to my future purchase list, I have the Model king issue that came with the open road camper.
I was looking forward to this one. Love the color! This is a great kit. My wife happened to be here so I pointed to it and told her "Me want that one!" lol. I'll tell you if it worked. :)
Great video, one thing I would suggest is a video on how you separate the parts from the sprues. I have trouble removing parts from the sprues even with sharp side cutters. Thanks for the tip on colored sharpies!
That came out cool! I foresee lots of people buying this kit for the wedge, using it with their truck of choice, and selling off the remaining stock C10 part or building it separately.
Sprue trees, cab, bed & chassis are molded the exact same as the amt '72 Chevy...only thing different is the optional wedge bed & tools...but I think I need to get one of these for the accessories...
Seen marko done same kit unboxings look forward to seeing what u do now to ur one,, just started watching, 👍👍👍 just edit the commet i write at the start great job love the blue u chose to go with u done a awsome build i like it very nice u killed it cool man, 👍👌
I think I may have to pick this up....make a nice display for another kit. Chris you are the only person I know that could buy testors silver by the gallon and not have it dry up before you used it all...LOL..
Thanks for the build - I'm building this kit now, and apparently no one has ever checked the fit of those side mirrors, I'm fighting to correct "the lean" now. A fun build, I'm thinking a Yenko Stinger Corvair will look good on it.
Awesome build and presentation Chris!! I have never owned the Racer's Wedge before and have been anticipating this rereleased and have mine on order!! Thanks for the review!!
I’m thrilled to see that kit in its new version that hasn’t been seen since 1972, especially the packaging which I remember from back in the day, the other thing that I would love to see is the camper that they had, I just have to wonder if that would be able to fit this kit, if so it would look spectacular!!!
I am happy to see some older kits coming back .. and also I been away from building model cars and trucks say about 40 years ago.. now I am closing in retirement I like to have something to do with my spare time.. yes this girl built them and as a response to my mom when she asked why I build them, I said rather see me go out and get pregnant or stoned with drugs? she bought me a few kits later.. LOL. I hope to get back into it soon.
Very happy to see these older kits being reissued. I’m 73 and still builden em . Wish you guys could get hold of the jo-Han molds😁
I'm sure they have some of them somewhere.
JoHan had some great kits!
I miss the Jo-Han kits too. I had many. But it seems the tooling has changed hands so many times, no one knows where they are, or if they still exist.
I love the AC/DC reference, 1990 400 watts and an equaliser. You were the king!
Razor's EDGGEEEEEE!
Great build. I always want to start building the same kit after watching your videos.
One of the coolest kits I’ve seen you build. Thanks for sharing your work. Keep on teaching us!
Thanks, will do!
This is my Favorite 70's truck body of all time
This will make a great display for vintage race cars and muscle cars. Also saw you using orange sharpie for turn signals red works well on chrome and on clear if you don't have clear paint.
Yup, used red on the tails.
I just finished this kit. I used alot of your tips and techniques from this video. Thanks for all the info hpiguys 👍
Great to hear!
Whenever I see your videos I want to start building another model Kit. Thanks for taking the time.
Another fun build. Thanks - and like the color you picked.
Glad you like it!
I finally got mine built and the video posted after watching your review Chris. I did mine as an older used hauler
Headlight tip,,, paint those chrome lenses gloss white and before the paint can dry wipe off only the middle so the white fades back to the edge,,,looks pretty real,,,try it you'll like it
Looks great! I can't wait to build mine. Thanks for the tips.
I like all the extras you did , mirrors look great . Kit is awesome, build is even better .
SOOOOO KOOOOOLLLL
Glad you like them!
My father had a 72 Chevy Pickup in a similar baby blue. It was his competitive Truck Puller. "Little Blue" was the name. Always bring me back seeing that cab and color combo.
Time to grab the kit and build up a tribute. :)
Good video ,Thanks well done. I am 53 and have never built a model car. Just started a V8 engine build , assembled some snap togethers. Ready to try the real thing .
Right on!
Welcome to the bench
I like the way you detailed your models. My dad had a car that was in HotRod Magazine twice and made the cover once. I might have a business deal for you. I will get back to you as soon as I can. Keep up the good work!!!
Another great build! Brought back a lot of memories of disassembly and rebuilding this kit when a built one was given to me.
Thank you!
always glad to see a fellow, lefty!
Haha, enjoy!
Awesome work there, Sir! Also, now you have a nice stock pair of side mirrors for one of your other trucks! (Bonus!)
Very nice kit and gorgeous build as always!!! 👍
Thank you kindly!
Chris u r the man...thats why I got nothing but luv for u buddy! Keep building my brother.👍
I appreciate that!
Great watching today. I built that kit in the 70s. 1972. This video brought back great memories. Thanks for building this kit.👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it!
Beautiful build! I built one of those original release kits when I was about 12 or so. Thanks for the memories!😃
Glad you enjoyed it!
I swear I see a new tip or trick on every build you do.
Looks great Chris! Love that blue.
Thanks!

You should!
Sure, dangle the minnow in front of the Northern! Great build, may need 2 from the drag strip diorama I'm thinkin. Winter's in WI. ...basement life!
Yeah, more to clean up today but it's been a pretty light winter so far.
Always loved these as a kid. A must have for my model collection!
Thanks, and enjoy!

LOL Thanks, and enjoy!
I watch all of your videos and I am just stumped. Who would dislike them?
A "BRAINDEAD" Person !!!
Trolls are a thing. We'll let them hate me over how I make model toy cars, it's probably all they have in life.
Great video, one thing I would suggest is a video on how you separate the parts from the sprues. I have trouble removing parts from the sprues even with sharp side cutters. Thanks for the tip on colored sharpies!
Noted!
Really cool build, Chris! 😁I need a couple of these!. Happy weekend, my friend 😊✌
Thanks, you too!

There’s something about that music that started playing at the 21 mark that is so relaxing to my ears. Anyways , great build Chris !
Glad you enjoyed!
that thing looks sharp can't wait till mine comes in
Thanks!
As always great build! I have been waiting a long time for this re-issue and I hope there will be more. Just an FYI, the 72s had blue bow ties. 😉

Great job again Chris, you da man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think I may have to pick this up....make a nice display for another kit. Chris you are the only person I know that could buy testors silver by the gallon and not have it dry up before you used it all...LOL..
You'd be surprised how long those tiny bottles last. I go a few months before I open another.
Thanks for the build - I'm building this kit now, and apparently no one has ever checked the fit of those side mirrors, I'm fighting to correct "the lean" now. A fun build, I'm thinking a Yenko Stinger Corvair will look good on it.

Hhhmmm 🤔🤔🤔
Yes, that camper truck is a must have.
Great build! Testors "turn signal amber" looks great on Chevy emblems too, btw. :)
Thank you very much!
I would of never thought of using sharpie's for turn signals or trim. Thanks for that tip!
Happy to help!
Would like to see your entire model display of all the kits you have built .
Great kit. Nice job.
Thanks 👍
I am happy to see some older kits coming back .. and also I been away from building model cars and trucks say about 40 years ago.. now I am closing in retirement I like to have something to do with my spare time.. yes this girl built them and as a response to my mom when she asked why I build them, I said rather see me go out and get pregnant or stoned with drugs? she bought me a few kits later.. Stop by the FB page for the Workshop and say hi as well!
Awesome build , building my self one right now. But
