I halved the recipe and made these with tahini instead of peanut butter. It worked fine! I included the choco chips. Surprisingly rich results for such a quick and simple recipe.
A tip if you use Medjool dates, carefully check the inside of each one since sometimes they have a type of black mold growing inside them, you would probably notice this as you take the pits out but take extra caution.
Just made it and it’s definitely a favorite! And the trick is in keeping the oat flour a bit coarse, thanks for explaining that! I’ve messed up too many oat flour recipes in the past thinking extra fine was best and thought oat flour baking was something that was just not for me.
I tried your Vegan Blondies recipe yesterday and it came out good. However I feel they are very moist even after extending the cooking time for 10 minutes. The taste is great with the cacao chips added. This recipe will be used again and again.
I Made these yesterday, I am Very Impressed on how Rich & Moist these came out!!! I used sugar-free Hershey's brand chocolate chips to fold in at the end! These are definitely a keeper !!
I’ve made these twice now and they’re amazing! I’m going to make them again today! I make them in a muffin pan with silicone liners because that’s what we have and it works beautifully!
Wow! Jill, you outdid yourself with this one. Totally awesome! Had to wait on getting the chocolate chips and they are delicious too! Thank you for another wonderful dessert!
Just found your channel and your way of cooking is all my style- simple, quick, healthy and delicious. Recently started plant based eating due to multiple health problems. My one major concern was how to manage my insatiable desire for sweet treats (though considerably decreased since plant based). Then I found your channel. Can't say thank you enough! Also, am impressed with your radiant skin and hair. Pls. continue to put out desserts. Looking forward to picking up your book. I will be checking for some of my favorites- mac./cheese; bread pudding; cheese cake to name a few.
I have been following your channel the past year, since transitioning from just vegan to wfpb vegan. I had never made anything that you cooked, because I hate cooking, so I would just watch to watch you cook, not in a weird way lol, you just have such a warm spirit and the food you’re preparing always look so good. I was craving something sweet decided to make these, omg it’s crazy that this is sugar and oil free. They were so good I just ordered your book. Thank you for the great recipes!
Omg! thinking about @ghettovegans I remembered they LOVE blondie brownies!! Yum!! I think Marie would love this recipe!! I hope someone can get this recipe to her and her beautiful fam!! Thank you for posting this Jill!! My family and I are looking forward to your cookbook!! 😍😋💞
Will be making these as soon as my chocolate order arrives from Santa Barbara chocolate. I just got a notice from Amazon that your new cookbook is on its way. I am really looking forward to cooking from it!!
Christmas day...just made these. House smells amazing. Can I put a few pieces in the freezer and hide them for days I need something sweet and delish...thank you for this great recipe. Wishing you all a very Happy New Year. Love from NY
You are brilliant. I learn so much from you! I you could list weight of your cup of dates in grams or ounces that would help me out a great deal! Thank you and happy holidays.
Hey Jill, after the Magic Cookie bars lets go with your famous Blondies! So is it good to use a 8x8 square with same baking time than you? Please let me know.. Henri 😊
@@wholefoodplantbasedcookingshow ok Jill thanks 👌 perfect so I can use the 8x8 you confirm? (I can also use my 9inch Springform pan I bought for your Classic Cheesecake 2 years ago?) Oh and Can I freeze the Blondies then defrost overnight in the fridge? (I prepare mom and grandma birthdays in advance! Your Apple Pie will be for grandma...for Chocolate Cake you still prefer the Turtle Cake....?)😊
Flax meal always seems to make things have a bit of a slimy mouth feel to me. I’m wondering if that happens with these especially with the oats added but these look really good.

Hello I'm making the Blondies for the first time. Can I substitute the Vanilla Extract with maple syrup. And i have to use both baking soda and baking powder. Can I just use organic baking powder
Sure, you can use the maple syrup instead. From what I understand about baking is that the baking soda help the baking powder out and gives the batter a little extra lift but since these are brownies, I guess it is really not necessary.
