Man, my sister made healthy brownies with black beans back when we were teens, and she'd gone vegan and was all health-conscious. I poked fun at her for how bizarre and gross it sounded... Ate my words when she convinced me to try one lol. I ate more of them than she did, honestly.
I know you've switched your content up away from the faux meat stuff and I did love that. And still do. But I love all vegan food and ideas. This is just a great one. I'm a meal prepare, and a weight lifter and I often need new ideas to keep me fed. This is tremendous. Do whatever vegan stuff you want on this channel, I'll always be here.
I totally agree with this outlook. I will never go vegan myself, but sometimes vegan recipes are just great recipes period. And it's always good to have a varied diet.
Yes please. Most protein stuff is made with whey and I can't eat dairy, only every now and then, and vegan protein options are hard to find; also most vegan protein powders are really chalky and nowhere near as good as whey, so options like this become even more mandatory
I tried a frankenstein combination of both recipes with a bunch of substitutions (chaos bakers unite) and with metric measurements and it still worked pretty well! It was very thirsty and I ended up adding all the aquafaba plus some brewed coffee and grounds for flavour and extra roughage. If you’re on a high protein diet you understand the need for fibre and roughage! The only thing was my protein powder has a really intense artificial sweetener flavour and it was quite concentrated in this format. I’ve found that a squeeze of lime in coke no sugar completely neutralises the chemical aftertaste, so I’m going to try adding some sort of acid, maybe in the form of vegan buttermilk next time? Hope everyone reading this is staying safe ♥️ from Australia xx
I tried the chocolate version using chickpeas and substituted the dates with no sugar added raisins as they were cheaper. It turned out really good and filling with just a couple small pieces. Next time I might try using figs for added texture.
I've made a few batches of this since I first watched it. I have made one change that saves my food processor. I process the oats and dry ingredient and dump that into my stand mixer then mix my PB and chickpeas and aquafaba in the food processor. Then I put all of it into my stand mixer for the final mix and knead. It works so much better than attempting the mix in the food processor. Also... I have taken the mix and put it into my waffle iron instead of baking in the bread tin and the crispy texture is great.

Another awesome video, that very ending bit made me *snort*-laugh. I hope you guys are staying safe! *high-fives*
haha thank you!! the audio problems were outa control on this video haha
I gotta try these. Also how did it go with you during the hurricane? Miami didn't get jack. We were safe. Hope you guys are doing well.
Pemmican is easier to make, lasts long and is digested better with no plant toxins or anti-nutrients.
Looks so good. Too funny when you tried the vegan c chips before baked a honest yuck. Also your wife saying you can't tell it was chickpeas when it was black beans lol.
I’m a new follower! I’ve been lured by your love of using garbanzo beans in many of your recipes since Ive been making a lot more vegan dishes! I’m here for it!😆🫘
I hope you guys are all ok over in SauceStache house! Thank you for this recipe, i will be making this later today!
Did anyone make these? Looking for reviews. Glad to hear you are safe and well. Sending hope and blessings from 🇨🇦
hopefully, you made it through Milton with no real issues.
This is adding to the reasons I should actually get a full sized food processer. I have a bullet one... and I doubt it could handle even half of the load.
Thanks for continuing to share your knowledge. 👍
Thank you soo much for being here and for being so kind!
Haha that ‘noooo’ at the end was devastating. 😅
How to store these bars, in fridge or room temp? And how long they stay good?
Came here to ask this as well! Since he was making them as prep for the hurricane, I want to say they would be safe at room temp in case the lights went out, but I would love to know for sure.
Fridge
These look solid. Great idea. Glad you are all good afternoon the hurricane.
Thank you!! they were so good and we're safe and sound!!
Wishing you all the best with the weather. I love this recipe and am wondering if garbanzo flour would work and how to convert the amounts.
I'm making those a.s.ap.! They look gorgeous. Hope you're ok after the storm.
Glad you’re doing calorie breakdown now.
Great recipes thank you.
Banza chikpea pasta is incredibly healthy, tastes good, and has only 3 ingredients. It has become a staple in my house.
Yes
Great recipe, looking to make these myself. FYI.. the recipes on your site are not easily parsable via anylist recipe capture. You might want to split the two bar recipes so that I can add them easily to anylist. Thanks for the recipes!
Finally got a chance to make the PB version. Although, I only had white beans. Still seemed to come out great!
What's the point of chick peas and beans if you put in protein powder?
Texture? And more protein. And carbs. And fibre.
I was just saying to my husband that l wanted to find a good vegan breakfast bar. Ta-da! Ty!
