Natural diamonds found on earth and other planets, NOT rare. Lab-grown diamonds created by the only sentient beings we know of in the universe that are capable of creating such a thing.... PRICELESS

All of this is misinformation. And that's the polite term.
Lab grown aren't 'complimentary' they're identical, chemically, hardness, brilliance, clarity - all of it.
If i gave this lady two diamonds and asked her just by examining them with her own eyes which was lab created and which was naturally occurring she would not be able to. No one could its impossible.
With the aid of a heavy duty microscope a trained eye can tell because the natural will have timy nitrogen bubbles that the lab will not. That's it. Other than human suffering and price - that's the only difference.
And secondly no, naturally occuring diamonds do not hold their value over time. Not even close.
De Beers slashed it's prices of rough diamonds by 40 percent in the last 2 years because of the popularity of lab grown. So its s complete nonsense they are a store of value because they are only going to get cheaper

Not everyone can afford the size of diamond you are wearing. It’s a dream for some to own a nice size diamond, but not at the price of buying a house. Some have no desire to resell their diamonds for the simple reason,it’s purpose is sentimental. Buying a lab grown diamond is affordable for some wanting a bigger stone for far less money over a mined diamond. Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their mouth to be able to own a ring far exceeding their budget.

I hear you on the sentiment and the cost, yet being old and having many friends sadly get divorced (well not all sadly) they wanted the diamond gone. Friends with natural diamonds did not get appraised value (different topic) yet still got reasonable money. ESP those with higher colour and clarity stones. Have to see market in few years on lab on where they will resell for. While I am not anti lab based on people want bigger, I do not understand getting lab with an SI1 to 2 clarity. At the end of the day, it has to be something the wearer wants and loves.
Speaker’s diamond was from her family. If I recall parents involved in jewelry and she said she loved. Her mom put away for her for when she got engaged. As parents in the business and ring is older, chances are it was not as expensive as we think it was. It is a stunning ring.

yes lab diamonds are also dropping in price ....people also like moissanite as well as its brilliance is great and folks find it even more reasonable in price....

You can get a diamond for a few hundred. My friend’s great great grandma was Italian and her husband to be couldn’t afford an expensive ring. At the time, what he got her was worth a month’s wages. My friend now wears that ring and it’s worth half a million.

the whole point of this video is not to explain the difference but just to promote the diamonds on the site

I'd buy Lab-grown diamonds as long as I've not paid an arm and a leg for them. They are chemically and optically identical to naturally grown diamonds with the naked eye. Only an expert under a scope could tell the difference.

    • @davidhay3417

No, an expert even with a scope, can't tell the difference, you need a box that shoots lights into it, so you can tell if it's got nitrogen in it or not. Women who turn their nose up at lab diamonds, look exactly like regular diamonds are just straight trash.

I can tell you the price of a lab grown 1ct round brilliant in Thailand, its not even close of the prices in the US. I bought 1.17 (F) VVS1 for 300 dollars

That diamonds retain their value is totally false, when you to try and sell it you get 10-20% of what you paid.
