Patrick seems to be a very nice guy. Honestly the ending was just sooo wholesome!
LMAO this is coming from the guy whose handle is Leathersausage .. This is not a dig on you Leather. I just thought the irony was funny.
True. Also Patrick should surprise us on next episode with more stuff
Some older men are really kind and nice to be around. Yet this is not a general rule at all. Still, some of the best people I knew are older.
Today we’re watching Producer Michael checking out diamonds with his brother
That's why they call him Producer Diamond 💎
Replica* diamonds
,💯😂 that's funny
But his brother was lab grown.
@@messageinmybottles3767 Best brother since Adam...and Eve
When I was shopping for my wife’s engagement ring I was shown a $12k stone for the center of her setting. It blew me away. But when I was shown a lab grown diamond that was even bigger, better color, and clarity, for a fraction of the price, I couldn’t pass it up. I spent $7k on an engagement ring that otherwise would have cost north of $17k. Like they said in the video, if you have money to blow, spend it how you want. But don’t feel like you’re getting a lesser product when purchasing lab grown diamonds.
Fellas, main thing to remember. If your girl thinks less of you because you purchased a lab grown over earth grown diamond, you deserve better. I’ve always said it doesn’t matter if the ring is $100 or $100,000. The metal and rocks don’t make a marriage.
7k is still a stupid amount for just a ring
@@DN-dj4gi Not if you can afford it!
@@DN-dj4gi don’t agree, it’s an engagement ring and if he could afford that for a lab brown ring good on him he has clearly worked for it ! Lots of people spend that or more. 😊

I agree lots have NO idea about finances but it’s unfair to judge a person on a comment they made that’s something you don’t agree with, you have no idea what else they do or don’t have.
Michael’s diamond knowledge is actually pretty impressive
Not really, he’s been buying and selling diamonds privately for decades. It’d actually be pretty sad if he didn’t know what he was talking.
especially when you know they can be lab grown
@@Vangent87 I agree with Jack. Even if you do buy for decades... what 5-6 times a year? Some years none. It is not at all the same as a jeweler who handles diamonds every day. I say Michaels has a natural eye for grading diamonds.
In some sense but he seems to have a mental block understanding lab grown diamonds and are exactly the same as ones from the earth and only an idiot would now ever buy mind diamonds

Great to see these labgrown diamonds since they will help break up the diamond cartel with its extremely artificially inflated diamond prices.
Well any money spend on diamonds are money you do not need and you spend it for something you do not need.
Only purpose of diamonds is to show off...
The diamond cartel is heavily invested in lab grown diamond industry. In fact they are ushering people into it an prefer to sell lab grown because it’s les expensive to produce and the profit margin is higher
I got a lab grown diamond for my fiancé’s engagement ring and she loves it. We went shopping a while before I purchased it and I made a point to check out a lab grown dealer to show her the price differential, and for her it was actually the size differential that made her love the lab grown diamonds. Rather than thinking about saving money, she liked she could get a way bigger diamond for the same money.
Most women do just care about the size of the diamond. It’s just the way it is. The way they are. Bigger the diamond the better. It’s more to brag about to her friends. Family.
@@shadowfilm7980 Everybody is weak to social flexing but it can be especially bad for some women.
@@shadowfilm7980
Don't generalize women to be the bragging type always. Such materialistic women who marry rich dudes for benefits are surely - But there are normal women who are mature and would tell their partner to not care for such things and buy something cheap, investing the money into something that matters doe them and their lives.
This shows she is going to happily to dump you for a guy with a bigger... Diamond.
Seriously paying for silly sparkling rocks, people gonna be people. Which is human primates excited by shiny things and producing absurd profit to people who sell them.
Realistically if someone gave me such a ring or any similar equivalent - I would sell it to spend it on something which is at least useful. For looks I would rather wear something like obsidian or anything else which is cheaper and nice.
I like how Adam got his nails done to display the diamonds; true dedication to make the diamonds and video better.

The contrast between Mr. Fay's boutique and his website is Incredible ! The shop and the diamonds are great, but the website is exactly the same as when the former video was published. It even has the same diamonds on it ! It could do with a similar update as Mr. Fay has undergone. Love the video, and Mr. Fay's personality. More of this guy please !
Wooh! Just watched the first lab diamond video a couple days ago. So glad the follow up came so quickly for me. Thank you Producer Mike team for showing us such eye candy

Youre beautiful like a lab grown diamond in the sky
I bought a Tiffany setting, then bought a 2.5 lab grown carat diamond had it set. Then I bought the box on ebay and called it a day. She is super happy.
I love Patrick’s voice! I could listen to him talk about diamonds all day long!
I don't buy the whole "Lab diamonds aren't as romantic as earth mined diamonds" arguement.
I would rather pay for something knowing it's history and that it isn't tied to any modern (or historic) slavery.
Lab grown is the future and a distrupter.
It's all part of the mystique they try to build up around diamonds and showing someone that you love them by buying a diamond. Not that it actually proves anything but as a sales pitch it has been remarkably successful over the decades since they started it. Hard to imagine there was a time when diamonds weren't that popular a gift.
“ It identifies as earth grown “ 😂😂😂
I like Patrick’s style. I hope I have his form and swagger when I’m his age.
It never disappointed me to watch your videos. I do really love how friendly you're and the vast knowledge of the items you showed us. Thank you very much Michael.
Already know this is going to be an awesome video. I remember this guy from a few years ago. Watch the video quite a few times. Here we go
Just too awesome. I'm loving that Patrick dude he is really cool for his age. And he knows how to dress. Michael and Adam awesome as always. Always a good laugh with those guys.
Fun fact: the only uniquely earth grown diamonds in the world are now chameleon diamonds. For years I was one of the only owners to ever have bought one for over 1 million and now several have traded over 5 million, much smaller then the average ones on my collection. Just shows how lab-grown diamonds changed the game.
Love Patrick! We need to see more Patrick!
Rod Stewart called. He wants his hair back.
I don't really have any interests in diamonds, but Michaels knowledge and feel for this is amazingly fun to watch.
Absolutely loved this. Michael and Patrick you two guys look great. Let's have more of this please.
Realistically, lab growns are 10% of the cost of natural. If you buy the natural and trade it in you're going to lose 20-30% on the trade in. You can literally buy 2-3 similar lab growns for the same amount of money that you would lose on trade in. Labs are just the way of the future and are just going to get cheaper and cheaper. Plus they're ethically a lot better
‘Earth grown’ 😂
Their for generation that doesn't want to sacrifice or EARN anything. These will be so cheap any kid on instagram who works at Walmart can get one and there will be nothing special about diamonds anymore

Patrick is great!! Love the style and smile. W to Michael for the diamonds. Adam was the dot over the i 😁 Perfect video guys💯💯
Patrick is a great guest! Thanks for this vid!
With lab grown it's not about buying the same for less, it's about buying more for the same. Almost universally people go for bigger diamonds vs saving on one the same size.

Great video as always Michael!
The big girl would’ve been fabulous with a platinum setting or at least the prongs. To each their own, especially when it’s such a special gem 💎♥️

Vapor Drop and Heat/

Not really. Zircon is actually the oldest gem and formed as soon as the earth was created (first gem in the world). So your blood diamonds aren’t exactly impressive on that either.
@@here_we_go_again2571your comment is nonsense. First off its chemical vapor deposition (CVD) not “vapor drop” or whatever, the other is high pressure high temperature (HPHT). Both create diamond although CVD is type IIa (100% chemically pure diamonds).

Thank you.
Which one is more durable?
When I decided to propose, I bought my wife an earth grown diamond first cause I wasn't sure what she'd prefer. After watching your first video on these I showed my wife the differences. She jumped on the better, clearer and bigger lab grown diamond that was $4,000 cheaper than the first one. She constantly tells me how much happier she is and how much more she appreciates the new diamond I got her. Best I can say is just ask her, 95% of the time she will want the nicer/cheaper one which is a win win for us guys!
I doubt that, 95% of women would want something special to symbolize their relationship....... Your love isn't synthetic why would your symbol of it be?????
Also worth almost nothing. The market is getting saturated with labs that produce lab grown diamonds so the retail value is declining. They predict lab diamonds to be as cheap as CZ in just a few years. But of course if your main goal is “bigger for less” then yeah go for a lab. But if its something yyou’d wanna pass down it’s worth nothing

Just Fantastic Michael. Thank you so much for enlightening us on lab grown Diamonds.

Just putting this out there. I recently purchased and engagement ring and got a VVS2, E color diamond, round cut, 1.12 carots for 2 grand and it's gorgeous. The same diamond natural was like 4 times the price and looked the exact same even under the microscope.
How did they cut the carrots round?

Great video. I think that ethically these lab grown are the only way to go forwards. The earthgrown are expensive due to cartels, and suspect supply chains. Lab grown would appear to be a more ethical choice - particularly if it’s marking an important event ❤
One thing about lab grown diamonds, you can get maximum effect and should something happen to it the loss is less.

I will go for lab grown diamonds. Micheal is Intelligent in analyzing the diamond spec.
Super video! Lab-grown is the new thing.
The chemistry between Adam and Michael is so unique that they could do a show watching paint dry. And Adams editing of th videos is truly unique.
I bought my wife a 1.6ct lab diamond.
Of course she would have preferred a natural one...but put a natural one that costs the same price next to the 1.6ct one I bought and she would pick the lab every single day!
Sorry, but you still got a man made stone, vs one that mother nature concocted. There is something absolutely irreplaceable and special about something nature made vs a machine made.
That was indeed very good estimating Michael 👌
WOW! This is amazing 😍💯‼️
I get that lab diamonds are exactly the same and way cheaper but there will always be something more special about an "earth diamond"... Bit like a factory original car vs a restored one, identical and nobody would tell the difference but the originality makes it that tiny bit more special.
That's true so long as the cartel can keep the supply of natural diamonds limited. If that ever breaks the price will drop and you may very well have natural diamonds selling for less than the lab grown diamonds.
diamond is diamond there is nothing special
Its the exact same material. Same structure, same elastic modulus, same conductivity, same lattice array, same refractive index, same dispersion, same hardness and same toughness.
My friend who is a Jeweler refuses to sell the lab grown stuff to people, it has changed his whole business. Not for the rich people like Michael but for those whom a diamond really means something like for a wedding ring, it is not as special.
I often wonder when you see people with huge diamonds on their hands, honestly I believe most of them are lab grown I find it very hard to believe that the average person walking the streets can afford $500,000 for a diamond, but $50,000 in comparison is a huge difference, and just because it’s for a marriage I would be happy to wear one of these. Mine was made many years ago and my two main diamonds are 1.5 each plus smaller around it, yes they are great quality but to buy now would be a crazy price to what hubby paid from the jeweller I knew. Price wise I would rather have a bigger diamond fantastic clarity and bling for so much less cost with lab grown, it doesn’t take away the meaning at all….that’s just crazy, IMO.
What absolute rubbish.
i like the diamond cartel is being broken up
Its the exact same material. Same structure, same elastic modulus, same conductivity, same lattice array, same refractive index, same dispersion, same hardness and same toughness.
Genius ProducerMichael! Bravo!
Love your channel, Michael.
The fact that an earth grown diamond has taken millions of years to become an engagement ring is amazing
That's the romance, millions of years to grow in the earth until it's yours
Honest question. Since lab grown vs earth grown diamonds are indistinguishable. What does that do to the resale value of diamonds in general? Not that you buy diamonds to resell but If you could buy a lab grown, and then try to resell it as an Earth grown and 10x your money then it seems like a lot of people would try doing this.
There would be an issue of certifications. But again if I have a natural diamond with certificate and identical lab grown diamond... I can sell lab grown one as the natural one and have natural one for 1/10th the price.
@@mrnobody6118 I suspect that there are still impurities that would show up in the natural diamond that won't in the lab grown. Not that anyone would test for that with the cheaper diamonds but when talking about $500k or more it is probably a good idea to do all you can to verify you are getting what you are paying for.
@@mrnobody6118 Exactly my point. Buy 1 earth grown diamond and get it certified. Then buy as many lab grown diamonds of equal size, clarity, and cut, and you could make a fortune selling as many as you want as earth grown diamonds with a certificate.
@@Mott2 it is not 100% indistinguishable, check out traxnyc videos to see the differences and how to test for it. In general ur idea does happen in reallife tho

Extremely good information about the lab grown diamonds thank you thank you very much
I honestly think prices of lab grown diamonds will be going up as people get warmed up to the idea of getting the same thing for less. Especially because of the environmental impact of earth grown diamonds. Good marketing will definitely make them increase value pretty fast 😄
Nope, opposite, the tech has gotten better and market is filling out with more growers, price will keep coming down until it hits a bare minimum and should stay that way
There is an over saturation of lab grown diamonds it’ gone down by almost 95% (if I’m not mistaken) just in the last 2-3 years. And will only continue to decline the more labs that are build producing Lab diamonds. The prediction is that they will be just as cheap as CZ in the very near future. Natural diamonds has scarcity because they are so rare which is why the price reflects it and will continue to build value over time
@Shanny Moore earth mined diamonds aren't rare, they're just hard to mine, that's the only thing driving the price. Labs are far from oversaturating the market, they've come down about 1/3rd in wholesale cost as the tech has gotten more efficient, but they'll never be "cheaper than czs" because they still take 6-12 weeks to grow, which costs money, and is far more expensive than the process to grow czs using liquids.
Labs grabbing a large chunk of the market has also driven down the price of earth mined stones by a large chunk as well, also about 1/3rd wholesale.
@@Mike.The.Jeweler Where are you getting your information? Genuinely curious

PM you send my eyes rolling with the manner you have mastered the classification of stones away from the music experience that I know yeah
folks please don't waste your hard earned dollars on these lab diamonds. as a liquid asset a lab grown diamond will be essentially worthless after you buy it in the case that you wanted/needed to sell. whereas a natural diamond will maintain it's value in the short term and only go up over time. be smart people, i know it's hard.
Not exactly. Natural diamond loses 50-60% of its value upon purchase given it is one of the most common gemstones in the world, 2.2 billion carats is the current stock and 120 million carats are mined each year. You end up losing more for natural. Gems are NOT investments.

All diamonds half carat and larger should be laser inscribed as to origin (maybe MM and/or NE as man made, natural earth). Currently among dealers, disclosure is honest and forthcoming.
The 'problem' will arise from resale if and when there is no marking on the jewel. A universal standard would be very helpful and is overdue. There is a major risk of loss of trust in which
the 'earth' diamonds' value will be re-adjusted downward.
