Chigg at the Confluence of those Rivers have you ever searched the terrain around it? To see where past soldiers may have set up a camp and bivouaced on The High Ground?
Awesome hunt, Beau! As always it looks like so much fun & I'm grateful you took us along. That 1790 Rial was GREAT but so too were the carved bullets. Anytime you take us hunting for civil war relics is a treat, in my opinion.
Me too. I'm retired but after a long hot east Texas day working round the house and in the garden and/or too much politics for my mind to wrap around, a nice cold non-AB beer and a river run with the Chigg calms me right down.
You nailed it. I never comment but for some reason I did tonight stating that this is the very first Chanel I ever “Subscribed to” like 6-7 years ago. Then I read your comment just below mine. There is something really good about mr Aqua Chigger. He talks to each viewer directly. Happy Summertime!
Chigg finds a silver coin and nonchalantly tosses it in the kayak. After I wake up from the stroke, I realize I'm watching a man who has found 100's of everything ever dropped and is not impressed anymore. You're killing me, Chigg.
That blows me away as well. I think it was a 1790, yet the Chigg gets more ecstatic over a lead civil war bullet that he probably has two or three full sized trash cans full of. I feel the irony.
Extremely rare to find even the one like that. It's chemistry at play and not all woods behave the same. Some woods are actually rotting faster because of metal contamination. TO find two? Super rare. I've only found a single bullet stuck in wood like that from WW2, that's it.
Agreed. Very cool one of a kind display piece! Edit: I looked at it again and I'm guessing the copper-clad bullets helped preserve the wood around them from rotting. If you look between them and on either side of each slug the wood is rotted away very thin. I've heard that copper somehow prevents the decay in leather and other organic substances.
@@tim9430 that’s true great point there Tim , as a carpenter I know a little bit about copper treated lumber and copper flashing as anti fungal in wood and roofing .
River adventures are the best! I loved all the jokes about finding native American/Indian artifacts. One time we all went down the deliverance movie River and all ended up falling out the kayaks just like in the movie. We ended up finding a dugout native American canoe it had been sitting wedged underwater so deep that it couldn't rot
Wow! That is awesome. Now you've got me wondering if you dug it out of there. That would be a great museum piece! Even if only a partial boat remained, you don't often see wooden artifacts that have survived. If you see this, please let me know. I'll check back.
Aloha Chigg, Thanks for the companionship. Reminds me of when I stepped on a big snake walking in a stream in the Ozarks and it bit me on the back of the leg. Walk on water time.
Nice finds, when I was a young man the cold water / wind didn't bother me I can't stand to get chilled like that . I'm glad you and Matt had had a good trip , stay safe and thanks for another great video Chigg.
This. The very first channel I ever “Subscribed” to. Probably 6-7 years ago when I finally checked out UA-cam. Much respect, thank you sir for the years. I feel like I’m coming home. Every new release.
Nice finds, Beau! I found a Burnside cartridge a couple of years ago, when the city was creating a recreation area. Apparently the place was used as a dump during a lot of the 20th century, so I honestly had no idea what it was. Beautiful green patina… I thought it was a weird tapered lipstick or something. 😏
Awesome river adventure Chiggs ! You and Matt made alot of great finds. Congratulations on the Spanish Reale too. Take care and best regards to both of you !
Always been fascinated with lost history. I have never went metal detecting but know of dozens of places gone and forgotten and after years of learning from watching Chigg. If I ever do I'll know what to look for and know what I'm looking at, when I find it.
Hi just found yr channel after watching river hunters. Really interesting what you do.my favorite line is where rick Edwards points out to you that us in the UK 🇬🇧 has more history than American lol. Love the banter and of course the finds
What a wide variety of finds today. Very cool. It's fascinating that after all these years that a bullet cartridge would be that intact. And a peace pipe.. ✌️ who knew. 🫨😵😵💫
Great vid Chigg! Good thing we don't have an antiquities trust here... that rare, early-period, sacramental pipe could be tied up in custody battles for years.
Hashed it out....your funny chig...sadly I smoke but im a law abiding guy..and I feel old cause pipes were never my thing..rolling I the way...but don't get me wrong I'm normal and trustworthy ....sadly since a kid they assume your not if they smell it or if you have a frwind or 2..especially in small towns like how I live..sad but true and also most people are kind helpfull and active..❤ ya chigg
Hey Chigg, are those 5:24 piles worth investigating as collection points for that soft, yellow metal occasionally found in rivers and streams? I was just wondering.
I'd assume not, unless you are certain there is gold in the surrounding 10-15 feet. The fish build them just for the females to lay eggs. it may be possible, but they aren't necessarily looking for shiny or impressive rocks.
The copper and lead leaches into the wood, preventing rot. Thats why you find a small chunk of solid wood around bullets where the rest of the branch has decayed away.
Another great video, newer subscriber and absolutely love it! I guess it varies from state to state, I assumed you couldn’t hunt navigable waterways. I guess you can with permission, I’d love any input anyone can provide….
@@muddawgkomm9642 thanks, high water line meaning basically anything under water? Sorry for the dumb question, I will obviously research my local area, I was just curious. Again, thanks for the reply!
This was a great float trip and we found some nice relics. I hope you enjoy the video!
That was cool finding the real and that chunk of wood with 2 bullets!
Chigg at the Confluence of those Rivers have you ever searched the terrain around it? To see where past soldiers may have set up a camp and bivouaced on The High Ground?
Hmmm. You seem hesitant around the beaver den; kinda like a guy who might've been nipped on the butt by a beaver? Haha
Chigg, whats the farthest north you've found Spanish silver? Is it known that Captain Billy has found any in up north Maine? Thanks.
Awesome hunt, Beau! As always it looks like so much fun & I'm grateful you took us along. That 1790 Rial was GREAT but so too were the carved bullets. Anytime you take us hunting for civil war relics is a treat, in my opinion.

Right, what I said too. Was that pun intended…?
I haven’t commented in years but that double bullet all natural wood find is priceless .

You're an awesome dude! Thanks again for tuning us in to all the adventures of Chigg, Mrs. Chigg and kitties..
Chigg, surely you jest. That was a 20th-21st century "peace pipe" from a head shop!
Thanks for the fun adventure!!😊👍

I'm surprised at how much stuff ya's found in there👍👍
Omg that was a savage piece of lead. Good thing you dont come across that situation often
Hold yer breath!! thanks for the video!!
Wait! I remember not too long ago. You had a beaver that was trying really hard to bite you. I shared that video. It's one of my favorites!
Congratulations !
Fun video. What kind of snake was that? And I loved the "ancient pipe". So funny...

The carved bullet was a fishing weight back then for the soldiers great vid
Nice Charles the IV silver."By the grace of God, Emperor of Spain and India".
I wanna be a cross between Kermit Weeks and Aquachigger when i grow up.
Peace Pipe was from the ancient ArapaHigh tribe.
Thanks for sharing
Yeah I had a peace pipe just like that when I was younger
Man, I'd have to fight hard not to disturb those fall fish nests looking for artifacts. Could you imagine pulling a point from a fish nest? lol.
The copper and lead leaches into the wood, preventing rot. Thats why you find a small chunk of solid wood around bullets where the rest of the branch has decayed away.
Sorry Chegg that pipe looks like the one I bought back in ,the day from Zapata head shop in Corpus Christi, Texas in the mid 70s.
0:37 Mr. Matt , If you gotta go nobody will know .🤣
I like the sword tip
Nice peace pipe! 😂😂😂
That " peace pipe" looks just like the one my friend used to have for his wacky tobaccy.
Chick , you are a 🦫 magnet!
Be careful....🤫
I found a little metal jeep just like that one, same color too. Tootsie toy?
That is an excellent example of an authentic Lenni lenape tobacco pipe.
The double struck peice of wood was coolant im only halfway thru the vid❤
The 70's there was a lot's Peaceful clouds strange 🤔 huh!!😂
"Hashed it out"...nearly wet myself🤣😂😁
That peace pipe sure looks a lot like the metal pipes u get from the corner store lol 😅 still good finds tho!
7:54 Most likely, that's a tompion for the Pattern 1853 Enfield.
