i actually had the same issue and called Alpine because an older HU would only put the antenna up when it was on Radio, but a newer one didnt. turns out they stopped including that feature apparently because newer cars didnt have retractable antennas. I ended up putting the antenna on a bypass switch. there are empty slots on the dash for extras so i used an old one from a tacoma. did the same thing with the DLRs too. its not that complicated just takes some time and you will have to manually push a button to raise/lower the antenna, but it annoyed me so much the effort was worth it.
