@@joeygonzo ..Redd & Don were both " Gems " helped many people while they were on top !
Rest in peace, Don Rickles. There will never be another one like you.
So true!
"Milton Berle Was One Of My Idols. But I Had Been In A State Mental Institution For A Number of Years" LOL!!!!! Great Line!!!
What happened to us? It's really sad, I'm an old school brotha, I miss these guys and how they were with each other. We're living in a world where we can't laugh at ourselves or poke fun at each other like we used too. I don't think I ever laughed as hard as I did at RDJ in Tropic Thunder, we all need to lighten up.
I was in high school in the early to mid 1970's and I watched Sanford and Son,All in the Family, the Flip Wilson Show and Barney Miller and all kinds of jokes were thrown around and yet nobody talked about cancelling anyone, we just laughed
Good stuff from a bygone era when people didn't get offended by jokes.
This black guy still thinks Don was hilarious in 2019
Terell he and I share the same birthday and I cried like a baby when I found out that he passed; Truly a goat in the comedy world!! Rest In Peace Don!!
He went after us Italians good too :) It was all in good fun. I laughed like crazy!
Terell the great Don Rickles leveled the playing field, no sacred cows no one was untouchable or off limits and we loved him for it!
If people today didn't understand Don Rickles' humor, they would be pissed off at him.
Ty! 🙏
Love RED FOXX HE WON A DATE WITH. LENA HORNE. BUT THEN HE WAS ALREADY TO-GO OUT ON THE TOWN WHEN AUNT ESTER SHOWED-UP and he goes THAT AIN'T MY LENA.! "THAT'S SOMEONES HYENA!!----- MAN I. FEEL-OUT!!!!!!!!!!#!!!!###!!!!!!!
One of my dad's all-time favorite lines.
_...and when he read out his "Last Will" to all the family members and got to Aunt Esther, he said, "And to you Esther, I leave you.........ALONE!!" xD_
Don Rickles- CPO Sharkey........ Anyone remember that show? Loved it as a kid. 1976-78.
CPO Sharkey: the show Rickles helped make famous by breaking Johnny Carson's cigarette box one night when Bob Newhart was guest host. Johnny's response was HILARIOUS: ua-cam.com/video/o4_dM0kMQc0/v-deo.html
Oh yes ! I too was born in 1963...GREAT time to be young in the 1970's and 80's !!
My family loved it. We were pissed when they cancelled it.
Yeah I remember watching it as a kid on a good old black and white set and loved it
I’m gonna keep an eye on you..
Man, it's amazing to see everyone laughing at Don Rickles. Doesn't matter who was on the panel. Rickles knew how to bring folks together. I wish I was old enough to have seen this when it first aired.
The honesty care and love dont find that today
Hilarious. Don Rickles is so funny here; his sense of humor really shines, but what really stands out is his humanity. Rickles ends each roast with a heartfelt speech about the man of the hour. He speaks with such humility.
I've never seen any comedian that can insult everybody so graciously and with such perfect timing and improvisation. I don't think there's any other human being that can achieve this without offending like Don does. You know he really meant some of those comments, but yet you still laugh at them.
This guy was a one of a kind what a character ,my condolences to his family.
OLD classic movies
T
Best comedian ever, doubt many people over here in the Uk have ever heard of him.
We love you Mr Foxx!!!!!!
back when we could laugh at ourselves and not burn a city down yes sir we have come along way .
jim scaggs what????? The 70's was a horrible era for black people! Racism was horrible back then. This makes no sense! Every decade forward is better for blacks cause it's farther away from the brutal days of more public / blunt racism. Lol
jim scaggs vvvvvvvvv vvvvvvv. Vvvv=v=B.B. very vvv== B.B. bbvbbbbbnnnn. M. M n, non ; m. V m, m. N ; m n mm n mm. M. N. N. N. No m. Mmmm, n,nn',n. N. Nnnnnnn n. N.
Burned quite a few cities back then, we did. Not without conflict now, but the terms are better for all.
@@billie6528: Now black people are being gunned down by the police who are hiding behind their badges and a code of silence. Meanwhile, there's a orange baffon in the white house that's so desperate for a border wall, he wants to take out money from the military, disater relief, and education to spend for it. Oh yeah, we've come a long way in 2019
@@jackdull5699 You mean those blacks who were resisting arrest and fighting with police officers? In almost every one of those publicized cases, the black person was a fault. And yes, controlling illegal immigration is a GOOD thing. Or do you not believe in border security? What disaster relief? Puerto Rico has had big issues with misusing public funds for years. Trump was right to call them out on it. You know that Puerto Rican mayor that the media paraded around? She was recently arrested for corruption. And why oh why are non white people so desperate to come to a supposedly racist country like the US? Maybe you should layoff MSNBC and CNN for a while and talk to real people to get a true image of the United States.
Legends of comedy. You can't do comedy like this anymore. What a shame. People nowadays can't put feelings aside long enough to laugh at themselves.
Lighten up, lifes too short!
Amen to that
I miss when everybody made fun of everybody and there were no hurt feelings.
Don was a class act. Best roaster ever and could cut to the core, but at the end of the bit, sincerely cares and loves the person.
He’s a riot ! I love him! Such a natural
And so fast. Never get tired of watching don
When no one is safe, everyone can laugh. With Don, no one was safe, and as always, he ended with some honest love. People forget that. It's what is missing in today's comedy, not the humor, but the love.
It was odd to see his routine toward the end of his life, cause he still maintained his style of comedy...though in a world of spineless amoebas. The awkward part was me still keeling over in tears while seeing others not sure if they should laugh.
Nobody ever killed like Rickles. He was an original and insane comic
genius. He was like a machine gun:
anybody and anyone in his path was blasted with rapid-fire humor
and wit.Nobody could touch him
and like the other brilliant comic
Robin Williams,left his comic leg-
acy to the ages.Rest in Peace Mr.
Warmth..
Thank you for posting this video….Great example of how “things were better” and comedy was how we made fun of our differences. And not let feelings damper the spirit of comedy.
Its great to see people laughing, joking and having fun together as one! There was love in that room! Don was a fun loving kind of guy who loved to make people laugh and wouldn't do anything to hurt anyone! But today everyone seems like they got there guard up against eachother! People, places and things, things that have happened through out the years from people who don't know how to think or act! Has caused racism to fluctuate! If the whole world had the kind of people that were in that room that night! The world would be an amasing place to be! We can still make life amasing but we have to adjust our own thinking and keep it dialed in, we cant change any one elses thinking. We have to accept the negative and be grateful for the positive! We choose how are own lives our and learn to live with and love the broken people that just dont know! God's are leader and he sees the defiant ones who want to control everything through pride, ego, evil, greed and selfishness! And nobody is getting away with anything!
When Don Rickles was gonna roast someone - everyone who showed up was getting it too !!!
Don was such a funny guy a Great person and loved by everyone.
Well would you look at that? People of different races actually getting along
TommyCage0736 won't ever see that again great job left
TommyCage0736 exactly.
It's the left that cries racism over everything. I saw a video this past week of liberals getting upset because a woman was talking about the physical differences between men and women and they all stormed out screaming "bigotry" and "fascism"...I don't think that is what those words mean...
The good old days
That's not special. I see it all the time.
Back when we all loved each other regardless of the color of our skin.
Did we? Documentaries and personal experiences would say otherwise. Maybe some did not care about color, but many did.
You got to be kidding me! This was some of the racist times in history
The King of mean! Absolutely Love It!! Real comedy!!! From Mr.Warmth!!!
All of them Superstars and their times mostly in the seventies we don't have that in 2021 not even close Great era!
It is great when you can make other great legendary comedians laugh.
I love Don Rickles. He was asked to be on the Merv Griffin show to insult Mr. T, It was the funniest skit I ever seen.
Can I sell you some boot polish?
The old saying was. You're not famous unless you been insulted by Don Rickles!
How we all laughed together....... Don Rickles, the man that could make 5 minutes of utterly hilarious non PC jokes about those around him, yet end it with 15 seconds of such warm heartedness and sincerity..... to me Rickles will always be Me Roast Master... RIP DON..... you may be gone but your memory will live on for many many years
And he says these jokes with a straight face. A true comedic talent.
Watching in Oct 2020
Don Rickles was just a blast. Well loved by everyone. RIP Don.
When you're funny you're funny.
It's GREAT to see talent... and, to me, a roast has always been the best platform.
How many people understand the reference to "coke bottle" eyeglasses and the Japanese?
I don't
Those glasses would be a fire hazard if you put them on a window sill.
@@maryyoung777 the Japanese were notorious for wearing “coke bottle” thick eyeglasses during the time they were our enemy during WWII. The Stereotypical Japanese portrayed for years on stage, the Big Screen, comic books, etc was this way.
@@johnlafever3162 oh, ok. I sure did not know that. Thank you.
milton had the teeth to go with the glasses
This was excellent! Especially the last moment where Rickles gets real. Redd was an amazing talent.
'Dean puts cigarettes out on his underwear and thinks it's an ashtray - but good luck to you.'
Now these are comedians that was the best time to listen to all of them. Those was the good ole days wish they was still here bless you all. Many laughs miss it comedians today do not compare to them in any way
back when captain pc was safely locked away in a deep dark dungeon chained upside down on a wall
Now, I hope Captain America gets put back in the dungeon! That is, the modern Captain America, not the old one.
Sounds like Captain PC is into bondage….
@Carmen Sandiego I’ve been looking all over the place, where in the world are you?
Being "politically correct" didnt exist. It was just *being polite;* knowing what boundaries not to cross
What is called "politically incorrect" now was simply called speaking your mind back then. Without being punished for it
damn the race humor is so cool. everyones just having a good time
Don Rickles, Equal Opportunity Roaster, yet exudes class throughout.
Saw Don perform a number of times in Vegas and was never more impressed by how hard this man worked as a comedian. Kept everyone in stitches. My favorite comedian of all time.
He truly was a comic genius whose comedy still holds up
Straight Wit without being vulgar... that's how it's done...
Yeah, but like 99.9% of comedians do it without being vulgar.
Remember when a lot of folks could take a joke?
I am dying, Don is the funniest roaster ever, his wit is unmatched
Kiwanis Hinton yes....he was the king roaster....he just kills 'em
Kiwanis Hinton Foster Brooks was the funniest.
Alonzo Dunlap I played Foster Brooks for my wife and couldn't stop laughing! She thought he was Really drunk!!
Kiwanis Hinton
Your right you cant get this anymore everything is pc bull crap love him
Richard Pryor roast, he did the roasting
I loved Don, when he played on the episode of gimme a break. Him and Nell Carter with the wits, sde was hurting frm laughing so hard.
