People do need to support their local artists. If you're not going to buy their CDs, then at least attend paid gigs, etc. Go nuts with the larger artists, but even if you don't buy their entire back catalogue, think about picking up a couple of their releases at least. Realistically file sharing tends to be a boost rather than a detriment to smaller artists - but only if people keep buying their stuff. One of my favourite artists, Monica Richards, has been selling stuff to fund her album...
I am a BMTH fan for ever...architects is a great band too..i will not hate a band because they have a conflict between them..oli is a great singer and he give it all for his fans ...and sam is a good singer too...they are from different bands..so respect and dont talk about them cause we dont know them closely
architects is one amazing band..I just wish they were bigger..when I went to go see them live, and there was only about 90 people there..it was fun but quite sad..
Yeah xD It's been converted into a music venue in Colchester (Colchester Arts Center) I was at this video shoot and i'm seeing them again there tonight!!!
Dead conversation but I think BMTH are only as popular as they because of squealing fangirls who "like" a band based on their image and a few years ago, it was all about the black side fringes which Oli was rocking. BMTHs music is decent and some songs are really good but I think Architects are better musically and in a fair world, they'd have BMTHs following.
Am i the only person who likes both BMTH and architects? yea i have one that i prefer among the two but I still think both of them are great. I think most of the BMTH haters are just hoping on the bandwagon to hate just cause BMTH are getting alot of fame.
I can see why people are commenting about sam and oli being similar vocalists, but I have to agree that sam sounds better live and oli is getting there, but both bands deserve recognition. Also they are pretty great friends, so I'm guessing there's no hardship between who's more famous seeming as oli was asked to do vocals on one of the songs for architects. So. :l just enjoy the band.
@crimsoninred Sam has been the vocalist since the album Ruin back in 2007. On their first album Nightmares the vocalist was Matt who left after they toured with SikTh
it's a screaming technique that can only be achieved after your body has adapted to screaming at the highest pitch it can, then mixing it with mid range screams that use a LOT of air.
@crimsoninred In Nightmares, there was a different vocalist, Matt Johnson, and he left at the end of their Nightmares tour, introducing Sam through the song "Darkest Tomb" in their final set, and he then was the vocalist on Ruin.
@techepix Here mate, bands develop from album to album. Alexisonfire is another hardcore scream band I love and they changed when they released Young Cardinals Old Crows album but to be honest it was a breath of fresh air to hear different sounds. Since they've gone back to their old self which I am pleased about but still doesn't change the fact that experimenting with the sound isn't a bad thing.
Things have changed though and it may be better to move towards a subscription based service. I actually like the idea of music being a free-flowing thing that is funded by gigs, merchandise, and "Optional" CD releases, and some bands do well that way, but it should be expected you support these artists in some shape or form. I do agree buying albums isn't necessarily anything to boast about, those money is tight for a lot of people right now.
@crimsoninred for their first album (a mini album titled "Nightmares") they had a vocalist called Matt Johnson. Since their 2nd album, they've had Sam Carter
Carter's T-shirt is priceless.
and i own it :D
I Just bought Lost Forever // Lost together Shirt and still don't know if I didn't make a mistake :D

it's a screaming technique that can only be achieved after your body has adapted to screaming at the highest pitch it can, then mixing it with mid range screams that use a LOT of air.
