The guy that produced paradigm shift didn't like these kinda songs, he actually produced softers hard rock bands, he just wasn't a fan of korns old low and tormented kinda songs, so great Songs like Kage got left out, Honestly korn needs to produce an album no producer and just let it out, bring the old sound back with new electronics involved, Follow the leader was probably one of their biggest success and there's was barely any producer on that album and honestly that album has some of the greatest rifs by korn to date.
Mikasu Producers shot it down. The label they signed with are known for softer rock/metal. That NuMetal sound they went back to in that song probably didn't fly with them.
