Ross always brought out the best in Jon.... Yeah, it fucked him up... but that raw aggression always exploded through Jon when Ross helped bring it out of him. To this day some of KoRn's best work was with Ross Robinson. The man has my respect.
@@korn6664 I like it better than SYOTS, Untitled, The Paradigm shift, Th path of totality, Take a look in the mirror, live is peachy, I think this one is underrated while album like Follow the leader is overrated. Also last two are fucking amazing
I thought Ray was gonna fuckin lose it at the end. You can tell how pissed he is and it shows in the drumming. I thought for sure he would drop a stick and just flip somethin over lol. It also shows how bad ass of a drummer he is for keeping it together.
I just wish this album had been better mixed. I feel for an album trying to capture Korn at their rawest, it just feels so empty. Korn has always been a band with a thick/dynamic sound, even when they were raw in the early days. This album just sounds like a demo.
1:53 Jon: "That's how I sing it." Ross: "Good. (laughs) Thats old school right...It seems like you're more pissed off or something." Jon: "Cause I'm not moving my teeth." Lmao. 2:27: Jon's like "Fuckin' let me try" ☺ All I can say is that I will always and forever ♥ Korn. Fuck the haters who didn't stick by Korn through the years.
Good ... Ross is talking to Jonathan like a little kid. Yaa I see this material 3 time - but shivers through. Expression and pain in the voice of Jonathan this is what I love.
@soldoneBay1 I know. And it was awesome as hell. I don't care what Korn does, as long as they're happy. I mean, people keep talking negative about Korn's new music, and their collaborations. But, come on. Korn has always, from day one, since their debut album, pushed the envelope of what a metal band is supposed to sound like. And personally, I like just about all their collaborations. And I love their own music.
Ross seems to bring out the best in every musician. the albums he produces are always awesome. he even did slipknot and limp bizkits first albums and they were fuckin insane.
There’s some this special about the production of Ross and the guitars. The guitars sound eerie and underwater like the spooky ambient sounds you would hear in 1960s doctor who
Im just going to say it but he is using the Shure SM57 for parts of the vocals. I don't know witch part but that goes to show Shure has good mics for anything. It helps me because I am think about that mic for vocals as well.
@@MrParkerman6 well that's just Robinsons style. He did make some pretty memorable albums and helped bring KoЯn, Limp Bizkit (1st album only), and Early Slipknot into the world.
the album is great but i would like to have such vid on the dvd then the other ones from the SE. i makes more sense and gives you the real feeling of koRn. the real koRn. ok just KoRn.
@REIREI29 I agree, i mean i see why people say they've changed, but i still think they're amazing, most bands change, and if they don't they get criticized for it, e.g. AC/DC never changed, yet people complain about that, but then Korn change and people complain, they just can't win with all these critical fans :( At least we love em no matter what!
Ross Robinson would be a dream producer to work with as a musician... Of course there'll be lots of shit to go thru but remember music deep inside are feelings and we can turn those feelings into art. Especially dark theme art that's what I love. The pain might be worth it.
Ross was a DICK and he brought out a LOT of inner aggression from JD but god damn it made for some of the greatest vocal deliveries I've ever heard. And I still can't believe this is gonna be TWELVE years old..
i had a listen to see you on the other side and untitled and i think they were good and i have no problem with those albums why do heaps of people think those albums suck?they each have tracks that stand out and are bad ass ,sorry its just bothering me.
@SomeoneUnimportant96 I disagree. every album, even Korn lll, since issues, is sub par. Don't get me wrong, they had some good songs in there, but nothing tops the drug and alcohol induced rage they wrote and recorded back in the day. The pain was fresh in Jon's mind, and he was pretty much handed a bunch of money and a microphone. Almost everything on the first 2 albums was written and recorded while Jon was fucked up. When you're drunk, you can convey that rage, and you don't hold back.
pop metal? you realise what you're talking about? they released one album with techno/dubstep (I have it myself and find it good) and their latest album (without techno/dubstep) is damn amazing... also.... if you want to hear him scream without it... just go listen older albums, you clearly have the internet at your hand so that's not a problem
@SomeoneUnimportant96 He helped Jon reach deeper inside then you could ever look in yourself. Ross is a fucking genius and it's the reason Korn brought him back for this album. IMO Korn lll sounds more like the first 2 albums (the ONLY other albums produced by Robinson) than anything Korn has released since LIP. And Ross never tortured Jon...Jon tortured himself with the drugs and alcohol he did during the first 2 albums. I must admit though...it made for some awesome music.
RCAXX37 Oh stop that. Theres no substance to Rays drums. Its just a bunch of banging skins super fast. Like the kind you see high schoolers do now. David actually has groove and rhythm. You listen to old korn songs and the drums an equal to the other instruments. New Korn has the drums so hidden in the background its laughable.
Man Ray is a very competent drummer. Obviously he has more talent in his pinky finger than all of us combined or we would be in a huge band. Now with that said, David Silveria was a huge part of what made Korn who they were. He might not be some metal drumming god but his style of playing and Fieldys clackity clack bass made that rhythm section wholly unique. Not hating on Ray at all but even when he is playing Davids stuff it sounds totally different. Just listen to the shit he comes up with on the first 2 albums. The only word that i can think to describe his style, and its cliched, was funky. He was also tight as shit and the way he played off his snare was just different for metal at that time. To me, and this might sound dumb to some drummers out there, he was as good a pocket drummer as there ever was at that time. Again, not hating on Ray at all because you really can't. Dude has dumb chops. His style, however, is nowhere near being close to David's and IMO the music suffers because they haven't found a way to incorporate his style into theirs. It just sounds off. But hey, opinions and assholes.
The song is god BUT...Ç Cmon Jonathan...This is not KoRn... :( Where did the guys go to? To all those followers, real followers of KoRn that know the guys are not in this video...
Ross Robinson has probs seen JD cry more than his JDs mother ever did when he was a baby
zepknot your point being?
+Lee Cameron “Billy Mays” yeah good song the paradig of shit
Ross always brought out the best in Jon.... Yeah, it fucked him up... but that raw aggression always exploded through Jon when Ross helped bring it out of him. To this day some of KoRn's best work was with Ross Robinson. The man has my respect.
kornfreak78 I agree. Ross is a big part
also helped slipknot blow up
He was a big part, but this album wasnt that good at all
@@korn6664 it was the last album they put out with the old school Korn feel though.
@@korn6664 I like it better than SYOTS, Untitled, The Paradigm shift, Th path of totality, Take a look in the mirror, live is peachy, I think this one is underrated while album like Follow the leader is overrated. Also last two are fucking amazing
This is why KoRn's music is good because Jonathan sings with so much emotion from his past as a kid
Ross is Jon's personal counselor seriously he needs to come back for the next Korn album after this one coming out in 2019
He will never work with him again, he told a few times. Personally I want Michael Beinhorn again
when Jon sings...chills
I thought Ray was gonna fuckin lose it at the end. You can tell how pissed he is and it shows in the drumming. I thought for sure he would drop a stick and just flip somethin over lol. It also shows how bad ass of a drummer he is for keeping it together.
Jon has such a unique voice.
The passion in this mans voice; its just bone-chilling.
I just wish this album had been better mixed. I feel for an album trying to capture Korn at their rawest, it just feels so empty. Korn has always been a band with a thick/dynamic sound, even when they were raw in the early days. This album just sounds like a demo.
Ross is the man!!!! He gets the real emotions out of them.
ross is a sadist . . . i like him 😂
I must say... it's weird to see Ross working... but his Albums are always the rawest... and best in Korn's history...
Ross is the master

One of my fav songs off the new album, among many.
Ross Robinson, he sticked with theese guys for so long. A really good producer. A really good man.

Powerfull song.
korn's producer is also jonathan's psychologist :P

Awesome!!!
Still the best album since Untouchables.
I wish it never ended. Is there a dvd with all of this stuff?
an amazing video
There’s some this special about the production of Ross and the guitars. The guitars sound eerie and underwater like the spooky ambient sounds you would hear in 1960s doctor who
i love that he pushed jonathan, but i really love where korn is now. one can only take so much pain before one pushes it away.
How come this isn't on the DVD?
this is priceless!!
awesome video!!!
awsome thank you
that shirt is from at least 1999. I got a pic with john in that t shirt.

Cool, nice catch.
Microfon is the same they used for recording their debut album.
Chills... Korn korn korn 100%
excellent drums, fills me with anxiety
you can tell Jon is annoyed and just wants to record the part lol. I can see why its difficult to work with Rosss' process
@REIREI29 Yeah! I wonder when they'll do a new album, they must be thinking of it :)
Im just going to say it but he is using the Shure SM57 for parts of the vocals. I don't know witch part but that goes to show Shure has good mics for anything. It helps me because I am think about that mic for vocals as well.
I like this intro better than the final version one. This one is darker and more powerful
KoRn needs the Ross magic!
wow, now that is amazing, that's what should of been the in studio music videos, i would much rather prefer that than what they gave us
@andthemushrooms123 KOЯN will always make amazing music, no matter what other people say or think.
@andthemushrooms123 I know. Ross knows how to make it Raw. They would do well to make a Korn 4
Ross loves the sound of his own voice. That said he was an amazing producer. And still is
He seems like a dick with fucked up issues if you ask me.

More like a demotivational speaker.
Ross Robinson would be a dream producer to work with as a musician... Of course there'll be lots of shit to go thru but remember music deep inside are feelings and we can turn those feelings into art. Especially dark theme art that's what I love. The pain might be worth it.
