Off To The Shire We Go! Three Shires Head Walk - Fifth Walk Of Our Peak District Holiday!

- Today's walk was to the Three Shire Head which lies at the junction of the three counties; Derbyshire, Cheshire and Staffordshire. It was once a crossing point over the river for trains of packhorses. It also had a reputation for thieves etc to evade capture by simply stepping over a county boarder!
It's an absolute magnet for families to enjoy a day out in the summer months, especially during the school holidays, as we discovered on this day. We left it as late in the day as possible to miss the crowds, but even by 6pm there were still three or four families still having a fun time... hense why I did very little videoing of the bridge itself. There are various routes to follow down to the bridge... and you'll definitely not be disappointed with the views! They are breathtaking!
I really glad we did this walk as it's a beautiful, scenic walk from all angles. I would recommend you give it a go, but get there really early so you can really enjoy the bridge area in its full glory.
I really hope you have enjoyed watching this video. Please do give me a thumbs up, drop me a comment (I will always reply), and please consider subscribing, all of which will be very much appreciated. Please do heck out my other walks in and around Norfolk and Suffolk, and our holiday adventures in the UK.
Thanks for watching, and for your support of my channel, Jenny x

Looks lovely
Thank you... it was a beautiful walk 😊
Hi Jenny 👋. What a fantastic video 🤩. Beautiful Peak District ❤️, beautiful scenery and I imagine how big is the bull - hudge .
I will pick up the rubbish all the time when I see it, some people doesn’t care about our beautiful planet 😢.
Take care Jenny and waiting for next one. 👍😊👋
Hey there!
Thank you! It was a beautiful walk, and the scenery was something special 😍
That bull really was very big! I'm glad he was on the other side of the fence 😅
It really makes me sad and angry to see this sort of rubbish! It could be dangerous for our wildlife too!
Have a lovely weekend, take care, Jenny 😊
Nice day for walking my friend, great video!
Thank you... it was indeed a beautiful day 😊
Great vid guys, you're a mind reader, jenny, I said no chance before it came up on screen 😂😂, 3 shires is a great place, just always busy
Thanks!!
Yes, it was busy... I didn't video much at the bridge!
While walking down to the bridge, we passed groups of people wearing flip-flops!! 😂
Possibly, the crack of dawn would be a good time, maybe!
I'm glad we did it, though! 😊
Great scenery
Beautiful, isn't it! A lovely area.
I remember me & Rob visiting there the paths were unwalkable but once we got there what an amazing place 😊
We were amazed at at group of people we saw walking in flip flops!!! 😅
We're glad we went because it was a gorgeous walk there. Would've liked to have explored more, but it was a bit too busy for us. If we ever do it again, it'll be very early morning !
@@bumblejennybee88 they normally wild swim there
@The_Versatile_Camper There were small kids and teenagers all in swimming! Spoiling my photo opportunities!! 🤣
@@bumblejennybee88 Did they object to being photographed? I tried wild swimming at the Salt River a few times, but I found that in summer I have to deal with dodging rafters in strong current and in winter I seemed to be annoying the fishermen.
@kevinwalsh1619 That sounds far too scary!! The closest I'd get to wild swimming is sitting on the edge/shore! 😆
The approach was better then the actual head of the three shires it looked Jenny. I saw nobody on your walk - mind you there may have been a few - just not on camera. A wonderful route though - ah we just want these walks to last forever but alas everything good has to end. Until next time. All the best. Mark
The route down was definitely beautiful! We had two large groups pass us on the way to the bridge... nearly all of them in flip flops 😆 I didn't film much by the bridge as there were families in swimming. But never mind, it's good to see kids out enjoying themselves - we can just move on to quieter spaces!
Thanks, Mark... all the best to you, too!
@@bumblejennybee88 Hey, always love to see people - as you say Jenny there are ample chances to experience remoter places. A pleasure as always.
Lovely part of the PD...Bloody balloons get everywhere...you can get fined for dropping litter in a street but people release 100s of Balloons into the air for charity when they have no idea where they are going to come down...there are loads of them up on the moors...really gets my goat...please don't bring your kids to these beautiful places, they should be shut in their bedrooms watching Tick tok, like normal kids...ha ha..
I totally agree!! I see absolute red when I see balloons being let loose for celebrations and deaths!! It should be banned and made an offence to do so! I find them everywhere!
They probably let them out of their bedroom windows!!
