Squirrel Terrorising The Neighbourhood In It's Quest To Break Into The Nuts! No Feeder Is Safe!
No feeder is squirrel proof! They can chew through metal! Crazy little buggers! We are never without squirrels in the garden, which does make it tricky to feed the birds. I think a distraction feeding station needs to be placed elsewhere in the garden solely for them. Fingers crossed it works!
Thanks for watching, Jenny x

Enjoying The Last Colours Of Autumn - Hog's Grove Dunwich Forest
Переглядів 739 годин тому
We've been to Hog's Grove in the Dunwich Forest, several times. It's always a pleasurable walk throughout the seasons. Autumn time is a great time to visit when you can find fungi - we were a bit late this year so only found a few. The woodland is a fantastic place to visit for the autumnal colours with it's array of different tree species. It's a well visited area but, due to the vastness of t...

Eerie Sounds Of Deer Barking Resonating Through The Woodland - Captain's Wood Suffolk Wildlife Trust

We made a return visit to this gorgeous woodland in Suffolk - Captain's Wood (Suffolk Wildlife Trust) an ancient woodland full of natural habitats for all wildlife, including deers and owls. We visited the woodland almost two years ago and loved it... so a return visit was a must. It's a great place to go on a fungi hunt, as we did on this visit. It was a real treat to hear the call and barking...

Sheringham on the Norfolk Coast is a great beach to visit in all seasons. Known for is large stoned beach when the tide is in! Today's visit was very fresh and windy... the sound of the ebb and flow of the waves was somewhat erie with its roar and rumble as the waves push and pull at the stones. Thanks for watching! Going retro on your vids now Jenny...Take it from me that Lud's Church is not one of my greatest places...yes the site is beautiful and captivating and have visited many times as recently as Nov 24...The reason is that although I believe in the paranormal the place gives me a feel of unease and every time I have wanted to go I wanted to dispel these emotions as just my imagination...I felt a fear of real dread inside the church in November within two minutes of being there I wanted to leave and had my grandson with me...once we exited I was totally shocked that a place I know like the back of my hand seemed unlike what I had known...we became totally lost and walked around in circles for maybe at least an hour and a half...believe it or not I was so mixed up that my seven year old grandson said don't worry grandad I know the way back down even though he had never been before...He was right God Bless him and we joined up with my son and his son down by the River Dane...This is not a drunk Les putting this on as a scare but the place holds dark and unexplainable secrets and to be totally honest I never want to visit again even though it is on my doorstep...I don't really know how you and hubby felt apart from you saying it was beautiful but I certainly do not feel an easy connection to the place...enjoyed your vid of Lud's though...just wish I could feel the same...Cheers Les...and also like to add that I am totally rational and of sane mind🙂👍(I hope)🤣

That's really interesting, Les. The only weird experience was how it absolutely hammered it down when we left the car, rain and hail which the blackest of clouds, which hadn't been forecast! As we got down into the wooded bit, we were meeting people coming out of the church, and they were bone dry!!! I have a habit of asking people questions on walks, and I asked one couple how come they weren't wet!! They looked confused ! 🤔 Other than that, I had no unusual feelings as we explored. We both love hearing people's paranormal experiences - I've had a few weird, unexplained experiences throughout the years, Robert has too. So, I totally believe that you are of sound mind 👍 😉

@@bumblejennybee88 I am very sceptical when it comes to paranormal activity and on the day Lud's was heaving with visitors but not the reason I wanted to leave...I honestly felt a sense of dread...When me and my grandson left we never saw a single person for that hour and a half although we saw maybe over 100 people on the way into it...I was honestly frightened and never felt that way before...I tried to hide what I felt for the sake of my grandson but he led the way and whether it is the innocence of a child's mind or whatever I don't know but I have never felt so relieved that we came to no harm...Yes I have had a couple or more beers tonight but I do not tell lies and never have...The worst experience I have ever felt and don't even look back at it as funny which is not like me...enough said cos its getting late now and have tons more vids to watch if I can keep my eyes open🤣 including yours...Cheers Les...🙂 👍

@lespickering5080 Me too am sceptical, but I find people's experiences interesting. There's a cottage in north Wales that Robert's family used many times... we decided to go when our boys were young and took my parents too. Straight away, Robert felt that there was something there but didn't think much about it. One night, he woke in absolute terror and felt that something sinister was in the room with us. Scared the life out of me! I'm trying to get through some videos, my last late night! 😩 I've missed the end of a couple already... don't even realise I fall asleep 😴 😆

Hahaha, you're right, Mark, they are very spoilt! These feeders state being squirrel proof ones! 😂😂 Nothing is squirrel proof! I do love watching them. Every year we have a new generation. We have a massive oak tree bordering our garden, and it's so funny watching the young chasing each other amongst the branches! I have Acorns buried all over the garden! Haha! I have today given them their own feeding area, so at least the birds can have some peace from them. It worked, until they run out of nuts! Take care, Jenny 😊

Beautiful...saw you went in from the Monyash side...There are really loads of wild flowers that grow down there that don't grow anywhere else in the country and is one of my all time Peak District Dales...I have to ask you Jenny has hubby got his own Channel only cos he has his phone out filming or taking pics on your vids?...It really is amazing that the cave is the source of the Lathkill river and during most of the summer is dry and yet the river is in full flow further down the Dale...I do think it is one of the sources but I do believe not the only one but have yet tried to find another which must come out a further mile down...The history is fantastic down there especially the lead mining and was hoping you filmed some of the many mine openings further on down...The path you took out of the Dale is also beautiful with great scenery and views...I hope you will return again Jenny cos Lathkill Dale carries onto Bradford dale and much further...I do love Lathkill Dale and love your vids also...Come back soon please Jenny❤...Cheers Les.🙂👍 👍

I absolutely love Lathkill Dale, too. When on holiday with parents, we'd walk to where the river is wide (I think I remember a bridge) from there we'd follow a couple of routes back into Monyash. The route me and Robert did was a new one for me... I loved it, though, especially in the wind 😆 Robert has so many gadgets for videoing, photography, and a has a drone, but he hardly ever posts or shares them. He just loves using them. He has posted a couple of videos on his channel of random things, but that's about it. I tell him he should share more! Oh, We will return, I feel so at home in The Peak District and really do love it! We live in the middle of the city, surrounded by houses, and we have always had squirrels in the garden. We're close to a cemetery that is full of them and muntjac deers. I've even seen a muntjac walk down a busy street during the day. We don't have the red squirrels sadly (I think some areas they're trying to reintroduce them). We have two indoor cats, one of which goes in an outdoor enclosure in warmer weather. We do have about four cats from neighbouring houses that come into the garden, though, but I think the squirrels sort them out! We've also had foxes in the garden throughout the years. I chased one one year as it was taking frogs out of my wildlife pond! 😮😂 We have weird neighbours too!

Again another stunning vid you two...Goyt Valley is one of my all time fave places and visit at least once a month...sorry to sound boring but there is a vid on Goyt Valley in my Peak Memories playlist but one with a twist cos it was part of a paranormal series we did which had connections to my dad...Every time I visit I discover new things and have never tired of it in over 60 years...Apart from countryside management and conservation I was part of an Archaeological team that did a survey into the old Railway station in Goyt Valley which was part of the CHPR that closed down in the 60's...Too be honest I was not really into Industrial Archaeology more Neolithic and Bronze Age but we had to go where we sent...if you fancy a challenge next time you are up here I recommend The CPHR trail which runs from Whaley Bridge to Cromford...it is well over 30 miles but we followed a book that makes it into circular walks and if you are interested I will send you details of the book...its actually collecting dust on our bookshelf so you could even have my copy...Cheers Les.🙂👍

The Goyt is also one that is dear to my heart... it was one of my dad's absolute favourite places to be, and he will with my mum when it's time ( a few years yet, I hope) have their ashes scattered there. Our days of long-distance walks are gone now, sadly due to hips, backs, and knees, but we do prefer to do circular walks. Quite often, our walks here in Norfolk are longer trails broken up. Hi! Thanks so much for giving me a look and subscribing. I live in Norfolk - East Anglia but have had many, many holidays in the Peaks District from the age of 12! (So not that many, really, hahah) My parents loved it, and up until we lost my dad 4years ago, were holidaying there 3 times a year. It holds special memories for me. Me and Hubby Robert have always loved going on walks, but it was Covid that got us back into doing more (one good thing that came out of Covid at least!) My channel started as I'm always videoing and taking photos but family were never that interested in watching so thought I'd give youtube a go... it acts as a video library as well as letting other like-minded people find good places to visit. And now, after 20years, we've got back into camping! We also have a motorbike - I'm just pillion - so occasionally I'll put a video up of that. We have toured the Peaks on an earlier motorbike before me doing youtube. Thanks again for subscribing - I'll check out yours. I hope you enjoy looking through some of my videos. Loved the wood Jenny - there were some old veterans in there including a dew fungi for your fungi fest. I have to say I like a nice spot of bench life too if it's being offered. The location is key though - a couple of gooduns here. Well, good listening stations for the deer. Awesome sound. Hey, I'm an owl pellet enthusiast too. I love to fig inside them - you're not so odd tell Robert. That was a good walk. Have a great 2025 both. All the best. Mark

It's a fantastic woodland, isn't it... it has apparently been passed through many families, bishops, and noblemen over a 1000 years! It really is a gem of a woodland. And the two times we've been, we've only seen a handful of people, so it seems to be quite a hidden gem. Haha... Robert certainly loves his benches - I joke about him having a UA-cam channel dedicated to benches, haha! I was really excited but also quite terrified that a stag was going to come charging through the bracken. It was that close! I decided not to venture any further into the woodland but return to the path haha! I was actually annoyed at myself for not taking the whole pellet home! When I was a child, my mum would be horrified to find my bone finds spread over the kitchen work surfaces! I'd even collect animal sculls! To be honest, I still can't resist a good bone find! Thanks, Mark. All the very best to you, too 😊

Thank you! I finally got to hear deer barking. I once had a Texan roommate who said his brother looked for mushrooms. He would find them under cow dung, but he didn't want the sheriff's deputies to see him look, as those mushrooms are hallucinogenic. My company is closed down from Christmas to New Years, and we're having great hiking weather (temperature ranges from about 8°C in the morning to about 23°C in the afternoon), so I've been indulging in some hikes myself. Christmas morning I encountered a disoriented woman 90 minutes in. She didn't seem to understand my directions, so I tried to guide her myself. At one point she went on a different fork of the trail than I. I told her that trail led back into the mountains, but she kept going. I hope it worked out for her. Friday I went back there and wasn't interrupted by anyone, but my own infirmity caused me to take a side trail over the mountain pass instead of following the loop. I still took 4½ hours, but at my age I don't think it prudent to push myself more than that in one day.

    • @bumblejennybee88
      @bumblejennybee88 6 днів тому

I'm glad you could hear them! We've heard them in the night while camping, but it's not often you get to hear them this close during the day! I was half expecting the stag to come charging out of the bracken! Haha - magic mushrooms!! Glad you've got time off to enjoy some hiking! I'm off too until the new year, but sadly, we've got some very murky, foggy weather hanging over us, so very limited daylight hours. We've been out on a couple of short walks, so it's not all bad. We usually head to the coast on gloomy days as they're quieter and quite atmospheric. I walking routes are a lot shorter now even in summer weather - my head says "go further!" But the body says "OK that's enough!" 🤣 Enjoy your week! All the best, Jenny 👍
