The 1.1m version is probably THE best RC plane I have ever flown, its a real floater and inspires so much confidence - no wonder the original was so popular as a park flyer when it first came out. Might pick up the 1.2m one day even if its just for the retractable undercarriage.
So it’s ok to attack “that one guy” who points out a simple to fix error that is misleading to potential customers, some who lack the knowledge? Misleading by telling folks inaccurate flight times isn’t a good thing compared to the actual good things you guys offer which is a lot. It’s a simple fix - but easier to trash someone offering a useful suggestion most folks would benefit from… No sweat as I had let it drop until this comment, but it’s time to visit and support friendlier folks. I had mentioned the innaccurate timer comments in passing and moved on after you explained your reasoning. Then this pops up? To put it in simple terms, you profit from selling airplanes for various companies - yes, profit. You offer good reviews. You slip in one aspect and offer false info on flight times across the board then make it personal when offered a simple way to present accurate information as a salesman? Keep on with the good work you offer but that was lame!
Dude - you mentioned it like 100 times! I totally disagree with you, and have tired to made it clear in a "nice way", many times over. I'm very sorry if you're offended, but you don't know better than me in this one situation, so we can agree to disagree, or you can get all bent out of shape about it. It's your choice. There's plenty of room for more than one way of doing thing, but I'm not going to just do it your way because you think you're right. I have way more experience in this regard, and I don't want to rub your face in it, since that's not what I'm all about, but I'm frankly, sick of wasting my time talking about it. I'm not misleading anyone about flight times. I'm fully aware that many people will experience lots of different flight times, and to be honest, when you get more time at the sticks, you will agree. Flight times are fleeting. They're drastically varying by flying style and by battery age and use, and a bunch of other factors that most people "GET" - you don't seem to agree, despite our pretty obvious disparity in experience levels. I'm not even telling you that you're wrong...just that I'm not going to agree with you just because you make a suggestion 20 times. Everyone here knows (or should know) that we "profit" from selling planes. This is how we fund our channel, and not sure how this became a "conflict of interest" that you seem to purport...I want people to fly, and I want them to pick GOOD planes...and I happen to get the advantage of commissions for the sale of said planes. I don't care which one you pick. I think you've made up your mind that you're writing an expose in your comment, but you're not. Most of, if not 100% of our viewers know that we make commissions on sales of planes. After all, I've been very clear about it from the start, and many times in each video. If you want to have the platform to prove your point, go ahead and do it. UA-cam is a big ocean of opportunity, but frankly, it usually just swallows up and spits people out. I'm one of the very lucky ones who stuck with it long enough to make something of this effort. In closing, I've heard your concern, and I'm asking you - please drop it. There's so many other things we AGREE about. Why do we have to make this an argument?!?!? We don't. You're welcome here, even in our disagreement...I just don't want hear about it, in every video in the comments.
@@BrianPhillipsRC I mentioned it *twice* (prove othewise!), in casual conversation and never “insisted” you change a thing. Your personal choices are personal. Your false advertising is the problem yet my comment was still meant as a suggestion. I just feel it odd you take cheap shots in an actual video at someone simply offering a suggestion! You have more experience? Check your facts! I’m still not terribly concerned whether you listen to a suggestion, just the fact you had to take a cheap shot which prompted me to bring it up the *third*time, not 100 as you falsely state. Maybe 98 other folks brought it up? Maybe it’s more of an issue than you admit if so many folks brought it up? Still no big deal but don’t expect to make errors such as “more experience” or “100 complaints” from me and not be called out! I was done with it up to that point. On a side note I believe I’ve designed and built planes older than you - but of course that’s no comparison to your extensive experience… SMDH
Seconds thoughts for me. I love the new Trojan. I know you comment a lot on us nuts that watch the full 5 hours. I’m one of those and wanted to thank you and the camera crew. I have a thirst for knowledge of the hobby and your videos help me smart choices and know what to expect. So, thanks for the time you put in to your craft. Plus whenever my wife walks by while watching she always catches a comment about a nut sac or ramming something in🤣🤣🤣🤣.
Glad you enjoy the long format, and questionably appropriate commentary ;) We have a super-long video coming pretty soon...but it'll take about 3-4 days to upload it's soooooo long...might be a UA-cam record. Excited to hear how you like it...
This plane is FAST out of the box, and it's got a WIDE flight envelope, so I can do my typical slow flight, then on the next pass, 100+ MPH (I think) - love it. Lazy flier - CHECK | Crazy Flier - CHECK | Beauty - Check!
Amazing sound and awesome speed; looks so cool in full speed fly by. I want this plane; but don't fly yet. I think I will buy a BNF trainer first, but upgrade the transmitter now so that I will be ready for the t-23 or the cherokee. I like the lights on the cherokee.
Seriouosly, you're not that far from getting here, but please do yourself a favor - start with an EASY plane...this isn't a terrible 2nd or 3rd choice, if you take well to a "beginner style plane" but if you start here, you'll probably be very overwhelmed and probably SCARED...it's not fun as a beginner to have that huge load of fear injected. It can make you into a "One and done" very easy (pilot who get the wrong plane, flys for 2 seconds and then crashes and never comes back to the hobby - this is a death blow for many would be pilots). @@BrianPhillipsRC My 2nd plane ever was the Parkzone T-28 Trojan, like 14 years ago. No retracts and bent that nose gear all the time. I added flaps and it ended up with a Power 25 and 60Amp ESC... Loved it and finally got rid of it 3 months ago cause I haven't flown it in years and needed the space. The elevator was so brittle from age that it snapped just in me moving it in the garage... was still sad though. :)
@@BrianPhillipsRC you were practicing arm wrestling techniques to bend back the landing gear with that cool crescent wrench 🔧 ! I am glad the metal didn’t snap. Seems decent! I totally love that plane ✈️! Trojans are amazing 😉!
How ironic😂😂. I did the exact same thing with mine on a following flight not too long after the maiden only it was caught by a sudden gust of wind upon landing rather than stalling, which hurled it into the ground. Managed to remove the strut to bend it back into position. But it’s a daunting process having the strut attached with a c-clip rather than a pin. It was a tough process but the gear works perfectly once again. But when I’m not having to repair the gear, it is so much fun to fly😎😊👍
Hello Brian, If you want your nose gear to retract smoothly, you have to retract it in a straight line. As the front wheel is steerable, if the gear retracts while you're using the vertical stabiliser, you run the risk of jamming the retraction mechanism. So you should only retract/retract the gear when you're flying in a straight line.
@@BrianPhillipsRC well shit just bent the feathering shaft and messed up spurr gear and broke landing gear 😆 got all parts already nice to be outside even lawn is a spunge
Hi Brian, thank you for all that you do. Absolutely love the content you in the camera crew provide for the industry. Wanted to ask you if you might be doing a build video on the new Cirrus SR22T 1.5m BNF Basic with Smart, AS3X and SAFE Select anytime soon?
The original had nose gear problems too. Would hang up when extended 1 out of every 5-10 landings (poor linkage design) and after bending back & JB Welding shaft following only somewhat rough landings and no replacements available, I finally gave up. I loved flying her, but alas she’s hung in my garage with broken gear for 2 years now. E-flite really needs to do something about this flimsy nose gear, with still no available replacement part.
I've hears the FMS has a very nice replacement with good quality oleo. I didn't ever do it, and DID too have issues, but only after many, many, MANY bad landings on my V1. V2 doesn't seem to be much improved, but my piloting skills HAVE, so the nose gear may not be such an issue. I always felt the nose gear "defect" was mostly a defect in my flying skills ;)
I did adapt an FMS nose gear (turned backwards) though the shaft (this time plastic) shorter than orig E-flite gear - a less than perfect match. I still see no replacement from HH. E-flite shld really do a better job w/this great plane’s weak link, IMHO.
I flew this plane today at AMA field in Muncie IN today. It flys great and easy to land. I think it lands perfect with full flaps and just a little power. Worth every penny. How much flight time are you getting? I got about 6 minutes with 4s pack. I’m getting around 7 minutes with a 3s 3200 mah battery. I didn’t have any issues with the landing gear so far.
I thought we were seeing closer to 10+ Minutes! LOVE this plane, but to be fair, I kinda love every T-28 that we've done. This is probably the most practical of the sizes we have, but BOY ohhhhh boy the Carbon Z is to die for!!!
I tend to agree, but people are nervous about parts stock - fair concern...since V1 was out for a long time with no replacement towards it's end of life....BUT this plane is well worth the risk of breaking a nose gear. It's probably one of my favorite planes, and no BS...I like a lot of planes btw ;)
Sorry to hear this. I assume it must have been a really rough landing? I've bent mine a couple times, but feel like she'll put out a few more bad landings before breaking on me. As for the battery. I've gone as high as 3S 5000mAh and she was fine, but larger definitely increases the challenge for greasy landings ;)
Hey Brian!! When you getting your hands on the new E-Flite SR22T? I almost bought an old one the other day. So glad I didn’t ha ha!! You need to get yourself a UMX Pitts to. Flown mine everyday for a week and loving it :)
Great flight! Seems like you really enjoy this plane. Would you be able to check how long the wire from the IC3 connector to the ESC itself is? Thanks!
Not trying to steal BP's info but I have this plane and the wire is almost 8 inches from the ESC to the EC3 plug. It goes almost out to the receiver so it's plenty.
@@57heeler Awesome! Thanks so much. I was thinking of dropping the ESC in my 1.2m Mustang since the stock 40amp is always toasty after a good hop on 4S.
@@57heeler Would you be willing to measure the dimensions of the ESC in your T-28 please? I wm wondering if it will fit in the place of the stock 40 amp in my 1.2m Mustang. Thanks!
@@6.5x14 I don't have that plane anymore but I'm almost certain it will, most esc's are pretty similar in size within a amperage class, by that I mean from 20a to 45a would be very similar. I swapped out the eflite 30a esc in my Mustang and added a 45a Avian with a AR637T just so I could get all the telemetry and it fit fine.
I can't say the date, but it has been promised. We WILL cover it, and I can't wait ;) Megan had been asking the factory for an early birthday present a few months back, but they didn't have them here yet...one of the few times we've really tried to "pull strings" purely for personal NEEDS ;) Didn't work :(... Soon, she will be mine!!!!!!
Me too ;) It's like this, either it's gonna straighten up, or break...and if it breaks, well, I guess no worse off ;) LOL Caution thrown to wind...but you better believe it, I'd be frankensteining something to get this amazing bird flying again ASAP if the shaft would have broken!!!!
Brian question. I purchased the eflite Cherokee. It has the AR631 receiver installed from factory. I see the antenna is facing the back and servo inserts are facing nose. People are saying that this is wrong and should be antenna facing front. Is this right antenna facing front and servo inserts facing tail? Thanks
It probably has a real name, but we kinda made it up as an "inside joke". Inside loop and roll into one maneuver. I think it's called a snap roll, or something similar.
I love the T-28! I fly a parkzone and looking for one with retracts and flaps. Maybe I missed info on this plane. Can you provide additional info on this bird? Does it come in a larger scale? Great video!! Thanks.
Please Brian, you need to fly further away from your wife before a life altering crash occurs. Normalize deviance is the gradual process through which unacceptable practice or standards become acceptable. Now you are one hell of a RC pilot and I am amazed by your skill of pushing the aircraft to the limits. I know you want to show what the airplane can do and at times how much abuse it can take. And that is fine. I have watched your channel for several years and have noticed that you are getting closer and closer. Is it really worth the risk of an aircraft striking your wife and seriously injuring her? You could have a gust of wind, a mechanical failure, or a radio glitch. Just because you have gotten away with it does not mean your luck will continue. Normalize deviance. Frank. 40+ years RC aircraft and helicopters 30 + years Commercial Pilot
I'm sorry you see it this way. We take precautions that you aren't and won't ever see (Megan can't film herself and the plane at the same time, so you won't get the right angles to understand this). I get crow all the time for "rudely" telling Megan where to stand (we have a system, and understanding for how this works, when you talk to ATC, it's not RUDE, it's DIRECT - you get this, for sure)...this is just one of those things you won't see or have enough context to understand watching the video, so you'll have to take our word for it. Please don't misunderstand, I know you mean the best, and have tons more flight experience than me, but I just can't afford to take up this TYPE of argument...it's un-winnable...either you've already made up your mind, or you won't have 100% of the scope of what's going on, and I can't take the time to explain the whole situation every time. My point in replying this way is to assure you, we're being more careful than you might understand from the vantage point you get. This is one of the factors that contributed to how I ended up stalling btw. Lastly, I don't want you to think I'm angry, because I'm not, but if this thread continues, I'll just have to delete it. Not trying to be a jerk, I just don't have time to let this become an argument that you probably don't want, and I don't want you to think I don't value you, or your opinion, but I just can't afford the time it takes to go through these arguments over and over again, since they don't usually end well, and feeling get hurt. Remember, I've been having them for 7 years now, and lots of experience in this arena (un-winnable arguments). I love my wife dearly, and I will NOT hurt her. With all due respect, you should probably already know this by now, and you might. Please don't take this the wrong way - comments are fine, and expressing concerns are fine too, just don't want to have a drawn out point for point argument...which is, in the past, where this pretty much always leads.
@@billyevans1361 Safety first or we ALL may lose. And making up lies to justify his attacks! I respected him before this thread. Maybe it’s the new math where his 7 years experience is greater than my 30? 2=100? Methinks the man has me confused with another. If not, there’s some issues there.
@@BrianPhillipsRC well I think I see it a little different than some of the comments here. I have watched/helped produce a bunch of different action type videos and have done some filming so my perspective on how things appear are probably different than most. It is extremely hard to manage zoom when something is 100 feet away, then in a second or 2 passes by at 15 feet away, then is 100 feet away in another second and a half. Megan is one of the best amateur videographers I have seen following a small rc plane. Most other flying videos you see the plane is just a dot at 150 feet away or it is all over the place because it is hard to follow smoothly when zoomed in. At 40 mph that is about 60 feet a second. When zoomed in to see a plane well at 100 feet away like Megan does, it only takes just over a second for the plane to be right in front of the camera, then just over a second for the plane to be 100 feet away again. At the zoom level need to see clear at 100 feet (like Megan does) it appears to be super close and huge when passing by when in reality it is many, many feet away
Why doesn't horizon give you an option for the esc in their planes? If they offered a more basic esc/electronics option and maybe a smaller price tag.. I would think not everyone needs all the extras. Although awesome options to have, would make it easier to commit to a purchase if you don't need all the extras
I understand your concern. That would be a nice option, but just wouldn't hold your breath... Prices are getting crazy for everything. Not getting any better any time soon, so if you like it, buy it before they raise prices again - super frustrating.
Brian what's your thoughts on changing the nose gear on the Trogen 1.2 to the freewing t33 gear ! its pretty much retro fit with servo reversing wire ?
I don't know anything about it. I've heard of using another setup, but it's been such a long time, I can't speak to the details, as they've escaped my brain. Sorry about that!
I gotta get one some day and join a club so I have a place to fly. However I would also need a Spectrum Smart Charger which will make it a further out dream. I think the geese use 6s with grass charging. Lol
Not gonna lie the low battery warnings were giving me anxiety when you kept taking off lol. thinking about getting the yellow t28 as my second plane although i prefer this one im not advanced enough for retractable gear yet. Love the content
Cool! Glad you had a chance to side-by-side these two planes. Both great choices, but LOVE this T-28 and have been dying to get my hands on the V2 ever since I accidentally pulled up the gear and belly landed my V1 with a 5000mAh 3S pack in on a touch and go - LOL ;)
I actually don't know, but it does seem pretty fasssst ;) Love the way it flies. I do assume the A-10 is faster, with about 110mph speed, but this one is a lot BIGGER plane, and still seems fast.
I was working on my house today in the warm weather and was like where the hell has Brian been? then I realized UA-cam unsubscribed me and the last video I saw was the carbon Cessna 150T. What the hell? I got some watching to do!

Just picked this plane up. It is my first plane with retracts, unfortunately the nose retract came out of the box with a broken wire at the plug. Contacted horizon 3 days ago, still waiting on a response. Sucks and I hope that they will take care of it because I'm dieing to fly it.
thanks for the great review Brian. this plane does seem faster than my eflite P39 and P47. is this due to the newer 70 amp ESC compared to the older 40 amp one? I think the motors are still the same. Unfortunately iv just crashed the P47 and needing a new £35 servo for the landing gear. it's got me thinking maybe a new plane too.. where would you spend your money? £250 Eflite Vans, £300 viper 70 or this £350 T28? cheers. Mark
I am having trouble with cg- never had a warbird. Went 83mm from where the wing attaches to the fuse (using 4s 2200) and keep scooting back towards the receiver (tail section) and is rocking forward towards the nose. I flipped it inverted, gear out- should it balance out like my turbo Timbers in terms of being level? Not going to fly till I get this all figured out.
Well- spent more time watching the flying portion and saw where your battery was- looks very similar to my location. Now not near as concerned. Thank you for all you do-
Barry - totally fair question, but on this beauty, you will find it's not too picky about CG, especially with a 2200mAh 4S. Glad you noticed where I was putting mine in the maiden flight(S)
They do on bigger planes, but they still bend when you hit them right ;( As for the very good news! Horizon Hobby LISTENED! They're now offering the nose gear bogey ONLY and the three landing gear parts for a lot less. Once in a while, we complain, and they hear us!!! As for this plane, still a SUPER-STAR in my book. Bonjour BRIAN I think this T28 still has the same problem on the nose wheel Except that it can be straightened several times without any problem in operation In the first version you fixed it with a glue pad I do not understand speaking English well but I believe that nevertheless you have a good opinion of the aircraft Could you give your rate and expo settings Thank you
I do, in fact, love this plane even when considering 3 negative factors... 1) Not super precise cuts on decals - disappointing, but not a big deal. 2) Retracts works unreliably...not sure why, but makes me work at it...so kinda cool simulator to teach me to be a better pilot - but also, they seem to sequence the second time I call for deployment...not a deal breaker, and maybe I got a lemon??? 3) Nose gear bends easy. Easy fix, but when it breaks, it'll also be fixable. I have it on good word that the 1400mm FMS T-28 has a super good replacement for this ;) ...and with all these things in mind - I would 100% encourage everyone watching to buy this plane. It is AWESOME!!!
brian The Google translation is quite surprising, it talks about lemon 🍋… I understood that the nose wheel does not deploy when you activate the landing gear… Is that it?

So far i have: (in order from what i started with and learned on and thru your links to support the channel)
1. UMX Twin Otter
2. Carbon Cub s2 1.2m
3. UMX Turbo Timber
4. Habu 50mm
5. Cirrus Sr22 1.5m
6. Viper 70mm
Like to think i have a little bit of everything. Just have to work up the nerve to maiden my Viper!
Thanks! We're so glad you found our channel, and there's so much here to keep you moving forward in your RC experience! Thanks for being here with us!
Really enjoy your videos Brian and have used your radio setups routinely. The “camera crew’ is a Saint!
Thanks, and yes she is!
Another great video.....have to say i dont like the way you do the intro greeting with silly voice, but i like the fact you keep safety in mind like throttle cut on and stuff like that, this T-28 looks ace on the ground and better in the sky nice work
I like Brians greeting. The hobby is geeky so it is fitting in the context :)
Julian - this is in response to popular demand. I promise it's not meant to be annoying.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Brian, ignore my comment, you do great video`s and you fly like an ace....keep up the good content
Brian I clicked ur links but horizon was out of stock so I bought planes from hobby shop local but I sent a email to horizon saying ur the reason I bought 4gs worth of planes with pics of receipts..Thanks for all the videos thier a big help
Thanks for your support Nick! Glad you're with us, and glad you're enjoying the hobby with us!!!
The 1.1m version is probably THE best RC plane I have ever flown, its a real floater and inspires so much confidence - no wonder the original was so popular as a park flyer when it first came out. Might pick up the 1.2m one day even if its just for the retractable undercarriage.
You will LOVE it. If you love the 1.1m - this one flies even better. Wide flight envelope, and LOVE landings!!!
Another great video Brian, just ordered mine. Thank you for everything you do to support the hobby, cheers!
You are welcome! Glad to have to here with us!
Nice flight Brian!! You definitely have experience fixing the nose gear ⚙️ on that plane.
YEAH!!!!
Glad you enjoy the long format, and questionably appropriate commentary ;)
We have a super-long video coming pretty soon...but it'll take about 3-4 days to upload it's soooooo long...might be a UA-cam record. Excited to hear how you like it...
Great video Brian & Meg! Keep up the good work. Waiting on mine coming in April.
thanks!
Great Channel! I saw on another review that his T-28 had gear problems when he banked, so he would only retract or extend during level flight.
Quite possibly the fastest 3s plane ever factory stock outta the box ive ever seen...i think Brian would agree too!!!
This plane is FAST out of the box, and it's got a WIDE flight envelope, so I can do my typical slow flight, then on the next pass, 100+ MPH (I think) - love it. Lazy flier - CHECK | Crazy Flier - CHECK | Beauty - Check!
You could make flying a bathtub look smooth. Nice video!
I need to do that for sure!!!! thanks Paul ;)
We're here to help you along the way, if you decide to do it... check these ones out

Your "second thoughts" video convinced me to order it... lol. Used your link and wish I didn't have to wait 4 days for it to show up. Great Video!!
Thanks so much Tyson! Glad your here with us, and thank for the support.
As for the plane - you are gonna LOVE it! Amazing plane.
Get your batteries ready to rock, this plane is just amazing! Makes me want to fly it now!!!
Great video again, I love your down to earth nonsense approach👍👍👍 I’m still waiting for my Eflite and Viper 90 mm to arrive🤪
Thanks! You're gonna love that plane!!!!!! Good luck!

yes - geese are freeloaders.

LOL - love it!
Totally!
Okay, so I pulled the trigger on this today. Damn you and these videos. 😂
You make it look gooooddd!!! Love y’all’s videos💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Thanks! I think this plane makes this plane look good, and I just crash them for dramatic effect - LOL ;)
Nice scale flying, love the slow flight capability.
Me too!!!!!
Hello Brian,
If you want your nose gear to retract smoothly, you have to retract it in a straight line.
As the front wheel is steerable, if the gear retracts while you're using the vertical stabiliser, you run the risk of jamming the retraction mechanism.
So you should only retract/retract the gear when you're flying in a straight line.
I'm thinking that, just like one photo being worth a thousand words, one "hmm" from the camera person at 6:17 was worth a thousand words.
Got my leg back been flying the 150 bad ass
SWEET! Glad to hear!
@@BrianPhillipsRC well shit just bent the feathering shaft and messed up spurr gear and broke landing gear 😆 got all parts already nice to be outside even lawn is a spunge
Plane looks great man
It is amazing!
I'd much rather the landing gear bend than snap so it being a bit weak isn't a biggie. Awesome T28. I absolutely love it. 🔥👍✌️
I've heard this a few times, and agree....BUT a proper spring loaded oleo would be real nice....maybe some squishy tires??? :)
Supposedly the Freewing 80mm EDF T-33 Nose Landing Gear fits nicely. I just bought one for mine.
Yes, as soon as it arrives. They were delayed, but we ARE doing it ASAP. Sorry for the wait ;(
Great job camera crew! 👏
Thanks!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Sure Brian.
2nd thoughts on landing gear. I would rather it bend like it does then break something like the mounts. Might be better this way!
Another great video! Thanks for the content! I look forward to your thoughts on the rereleased cirrus 1.5m
Thanks Rich, and cant' wait to do the Cirrus V2 - gonna be nice ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC It looks awesome! And with thrust reverse and interior lights it will be phenomenal!
great plane Brian
it's amazing!
5 Landing my front bent , then broke when straightened, replaced with used one , like the plane otherwise…I use 4S 4K …..long fly time
Sorry to hear this.
ASAP! We're getting it, but shipment was delayed...strange ;) Pitts coming ASAP!
Thanks Timmy! Appreciate you jumping in on this one ;) Sorry Ben for making you wait ;)
Brian, how soon should we expect the new Carbon Z T-28 review video?
I can't say the date, but it has been promised. We WILL cover it, and I can't wait ;) Megan had been asking the factory for an early birthday present a few months back, but they didn't have them here yet...one of the few times we've really tried to "pull strings" purely for personal NEEDS ;) Didn't work :(... Soon, she will be mine!!!!!!

I have been waiting for this one. And yes, surprise surprise. Lol
;)
What do you guys do with all the old airplanes you test? I can walk thru my double car garage cause so many planes, can’t imagine your place.
Man every time you ben them landing gears I get the heebly-geebly 🥶
Thanks
If the movement and correction of the control surfaces are right, then you're fine. VERIFY IT before you take her up.
The 1.1 was legendary ❤️ ( crushed at least 4 😁) Now I ordered this one and waiting him ....But 4s seems too crazy
Was shaping up to be a spectacular looking landing. Oops Tks for showing us what not to do.
Thanks!
Cool aircraft, i need a bigger shop 20x30 is getting full,
I keep thinking how fast our building is gonna fill up...hard to plan ahead when you have so many "habits" ;)
Brian does the 1.2 Trojan feel less floaty than the 1.1? I had the 1.1 but it got pushed around a lot in the wind
They both fly very similar, but you can SPEED up the 1.2 way more!
Does it fly easier compared to f4u. Thanks for the video
Yes, but only very slightly.
Try a capacitor on the gear channel to stop potential brown outs.
Great idea! I'll give that a try!
@@BrianPhillipsRC Spektrum has a capacitor, SPM1600!
What is a cornhole maneuver?
It probably has a real name, but we kinda made it up as an "inside joke". Inside loop and roll into one maneuver. I think it's called a snap roll, or something similar.
Have
several 3200’s 3s from apprentice. Looks like they would have a very short flight time?
Depends on the plane, and how you run it ;)
Hey Brian, Hope you don't mind me asking but what camera are you using to do your videos? Long time watcher, always good stuff
We use a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra (Cell Phone) + Rode Wireless Go 2 (Lav mics for me and Megan)

@@BrianPhillipsRC OK, that is very good!

30 + years Commercial Pilot
@@BrianPhillipsRC Everyone seems to see it that way apart from you Brian!!!!
Only two things seem to matter to this guy. Himself and his ego. Truly Arrogant.
How many minutes flight total out of the 3 cell? And how many milli amp total was it? Love love your vids.

Fly on a grass field. Should I be concerned about landing gear. Do they make this plane with fixed gear? Thanks again for your videos.
The nose gear is what people complain about, but you can land on mains and make it work fine ;)
Where do you guys live? It looks beautiful!
Central Iowa, USA ;) Thanks!
Looks really fast on camera. Is it faster then eflite 1.2 P51 thats also a fast little plane. Also the A-10. 👍
I actually don't know, but it does seem pretty fasssst ;) Love the way it flies. I do assume the A-10 is faster, with about 110mph speed, but this one is a lot BIGGER plane, and still seems fast.
@@BrianPhillipsRC looked like at least 100mph 👍
I was working on my house today in the warm weather and was like where the hell has Brian been?
then I realized UA-cam unsubscribed me and the last video I saw was the carbon Cessna 150T. What the hell?
I got some watching to do!
I hate when UA-cam does this!???!?! Sorry!!! Thanks for catching this ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC Cant not be subscribed to you ya'! I still have empty slots in my DX9 and I can't let the camera crew think they're doing a bad job! Lol
£250 Eflite Vans, £300 viper 70 or this £350 T28? cheers. Mark
T-28 - 100% hands down...
WAY better choice...but then again, I like the other two as well...just not NEAR as much.
Insanely fast!
She is very fast, but she'll slow down and also land in just a few feet when utilizing Thrust Reverse!!! AMAZING
Stop making me buy things 🤣👍🏽
LOL - sorry ;)
I would love to see hobby horizon offer a 2 m beechcraft stagger wing. I would buy two.
So many amazing planes. I wish we could vote on ONE per year or some such thing.
Why don't they put some sort of spring or other dampening mechanism on these nose wheels? It's so rare seeing a properly done one.
They do on bigger planes, but they still bend when you hit them right ;(
As for the very good news! Horizon Hobby LISTENED! They're now offering the nose gear bogey ONLY and the three landing gear parts for a lot less. Once in a while, we complain, and they hear us!!!
As for this plane, still a SUPER-STAR in my book. One of my favorite to fly, and definitely a MUST BUY plane!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC I'm enjoying my 1.1 T28 so much and although the 1.2 looks nice I'm satisfied with the 1.1. I guess it will also survive better in the long run being simpler.
🎉 Hallo.Brian Philips Rc,and crew. I just got to have, this plane.on day .😮w😢ow but all 4s it so wow. But i must startet whit apprentice 1, 2 rtf. Ore arrow scaut 1,1 very good plan,s right. Tanks for all your doing. Mvh Rene'Pedersen fan.
could this be ok for a first plane new pilot?
It COULD be, but I'd suggest the 1.1m, as it's a lot less complex, and cheaper too, if you can tolerate the "half-step"... We have a list of "Beginner Planes" here - www.brianphillipsrc.com/beginnerplanes - if you want to check them out. Once you're through your first or second "Beginner Plane" you should be able to take your skills in any number of directions. The T-28 1.2m is a GREAT plane, and I want you to get it, but you might want to try something even easier for your FIRST plane...

Bonjour BRIAN
I think this T28 still has the same problem on the nose wheel
Except that it can be straightened several times without any problem in operation
In the first version you fixed it with a glue pad
I do not understand speaking English well but I believe that nevertheless you have a good opinion of the aircraft
Could you give your rate and expo settings
Thank you
I do, in fact, love this plane even when considering 3 negative factors...
I have it on good word that the 1400mm FMS T-28 has a super good replacement for this ;)
...and with all these things in mind - I would 100% encourage everyone watching to buy this plane. It is AWESOME!!!
Expo and Rates are on the unbox build radio setup and maiden video (last one....first in the playlist)
brian
The Google translation is quite surprising, it talks about lemon 🍋…
I understood that the nose wheel does not deploy when you activate the landing gear… Is that it?
Looks to fly just a teeny bit heavier than the yellow 800. Nice plane.
Flaps and reverse thrust make it a much more immersive experience!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC I can barely co-ordinate flaps right now.. 😂
Hey Brian. I broke My perpeller. Will a 2 blade work on it and what size would be the the best. That factory prop is 12x7
Yes, you can get a 2 blade prop, and I'd go for a 12X7 or 12X8...
12X7 Three Blade Stock Prop - bit.ly/3AxTWI5 (I get why you're asking now - back ordered!!!)
Not an affiliate, but appears to be in stock...
