We're so glad you're learning and engaging in this challenging and super-rewarding, BEST RC EXPERIENCE you can have, right along with us ;) Keep with us, and you'll be learning from my crashes for years to come - LOL ;)
Megan, you deserve a trophy for your filming!!! Modern powerful electric gray camo-ed jet flying in a gray sky with Brian slamming the sticks... Oh my gosh... how do you follow that thing? Your skills are amazing and with them you create the best videos. It feels like we are watching Brian's flying in person. So much that we duck sometimes but you don't... Thank you both so very much.
Brian, I started flying model aircraft 33+ years ago and I recieved my Private Pilot Certificate November 25, 1992. Of all the Aircraft I have flown, only one was lost so far and it was hit by one of my best friend's airplane while I was trying to land. Have you ever been interested in flying full scale airplanes. You would love it! NOTE: I enjoy watching and listening to your channel and you are one of the best educators in this hobby. Thank you for all you and your wife do. Scott Salmon
Thank you Scott! YES, I am currently involved with PPG, and hope to progress in this, as well as moving up to ultralights, and hopefully, with some more time, a lot of hard work, and some luck too ;) We will hopefully be building a 60X80X20 storage building and hangar for our full scale planes, and a full scale runway on the other side of the treeline behind our house. This will be an off road strip, about 1000-1200 feet. Here's our planned progression of large capital projects on the way to the plan above, God willing, if you're curious. 1) Plan & Dig (or start digging) Pond - THIS YEAR, going through permitting and engineering now, fyi 2) Build 60'X80' building pad, and road approach - Next year (2024) 3) Build 60'X80'X20' building and hangar - also next year (2024) 4) Build runway - dirt-work - The NEXT year (2025) 5) Build - Pave in Concrete OR Asphalt a Heli Pad and road from the end of the runway (current driveway turn around) over new dam, and then through the middle of the runway, continuing to the 60'X80' building, then continuing out the middle or far approach of our other property. This part might be broken up into a few years, depending on the immediacy of need of the path. This will probably start in 2024/2025 and then finish in the following few years. While all this is happening, I will be progressing in my PPG skills, doing it in a way that will give me as good a chance at keeping safe, and not getting injured or killed while practicing. This is a harder than expected step, and will help me to keep from getting too complacent. I'd like to also start working toward my PPL, up to and including instrument and gear ratings, with a possibility of helicopter rating too. Some of this will unfold as our life changes over the next few years, but I'm trying like crazy to keep this timeline, but there are a few items that will come up and cause some delays, if life keeps being life ;) I know about a few, that will happen whenever they happen, but Megan and I are trying to keep those from causing too much delay - this involves buying another piece of property (which is happening pretty much any time, if there's not a problem uncovered on updating abstract / closing) - this property will hopefully yield opportunity to build her folks a new house, and when they sell off their current land (being squeezed by town...they've been there for 40 years, and will hopefully make a pretty good windfall when it sells)...then we'll either rent that home to them, or sell it to them. Either way, this will lead to a possibly delay in the later projects, but Megan and I are going to be obligated to help her folks, and that's what we plan to do. Anyway, we'll also do a few hundred to maybe a thousand videos in that timeline too, and hope you'll find some interest in following along. I'm a planner; difference with me and others I've met - I'm blessed/cursed with a drive to see projects like this through fruition. It's a heavy weight I carry around my neck, but love the pursuit at the same time! Only issue we've faced of late, is helping my wonderful camera crew, wife, and best friend - Megan - to understand how to live this way. She would rather slow down, relax, enjoy what we've worked for. I will be learning to strike a balance between what she loves and what I love, so that we can keep enjoying our generally happy marriage ;) Well, that's all for now. Hope this makes sense, and helps you to understand what's REALLY going on "behind the scenes". It's more than most realize, but that's not their job, but I still think it'll make for a cool drama in the background of this otherwise simple channel.
Brian, regardless of your misfortune you still saved the main body of F-16 by your quick thinking. The after-crash review and repair video is great and worth watching even for a veteran flyer. Anyone can always learn new stuff if they put the effort to do so. Enjoyed watching👍👍✌

Great job Brian and Camera Crew! Shout out to camera crew for your eyes on the ground and where abouts at all times. Great landing in the weeds considering the gear failure. Nice repairs and FANTASTIC REDEMPTION. 👍🏻
Good save Brian, you totally made the right decision to land in the long grass with the gear up,if you had tried to land on the road on two gear you would defo had more destruction.Great video.👍
This video is great I’ve wondered what goes into fixing some of these things many times. I’m a diesel tech and I’ve been very surprised how much overlap with tiny plane stuff it has. This is super cool bc now I’m not so afraid of crashing I know I have the skills to fix it assuming it don’t destroy it entirely awesome video.
Awesome! Glad you're getting the skills stacked to do these repairs. It's not "hard" but more, just a lot of guess and check when you're new at it, and we've got so many videos of crashes, that you could learn a lifetime of repairs just from my screw ups ;)
I Love you and camera crew videos Brian!! So honest, detailed, inspiring and funny. I just used your link to get the NX8👍in hopes to get the Viper later on. For now, I'm still practicing on my Habu STS
I find that my thrust reverse works best on the “I” bind button switch. A little hard to reach but that makes it safer so I won’t accidentally hit it in flight. I did that on my RV7 and recovered 5ft above the ground 😳. After that I started using the “I” bind button for my reverse.
Great great video, Brian. What's crazy is everything that got damaged in your crash. Is what got damaged/quit working when I crashed on my maiden. (Got stuck in a tree 100' up) oh and I didn't get it down for 5 days.. My right stab got bent and I broke a few teeth in the servo. You can bend it back btw. I did it and it still flys true to this day. My gear door didn't fail during that crash, but it did a few flights later, after I it was back together. Had to replace the servo. The left wing is glued in 3 places, the front fuse is glued, missiles are glued to the wings, and one vent fin is glued to the fuse 😂 but man I swear on everything I love that it still flys straight and true. It's not the prettiest and it's my Frankenstein F-16. But it's so darn good. I have another BNF in the box but hell this one is still going strong hahaha. Again, great video and I love when you show this stuff. It always sucks when stuff like this, that's not really under your control, happens. But hey, idc who you are.. It's fun fixing your planes and getting back in the air. I always come back for more!
I just was super annoyed, since I wanted to share how AMAZING this plane is, and IT IS, then the least important servo caused a crash - LOL!!! What are the chances!?!??!
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO. Crashing sucks however watching how to do the repairs makes for great videos. Thanks again for your know how....it has really helped me a lot.
Oh yeah! Viper vs ... well, Viper! (F-16 pilots call them Vipers) So, when given the choice between the Viper or the Viper, I’d choose to fly the Viper.
Sweet video!! I still fly my Freewing F-16 90mm that I got years ago, and man it flies so good! As my son wants to learn how to fly jets I’ve been thinking about getting the E-Flite model just cause of the safe feature, but even if I set my Tx as an instructor and let him fly until he gets into trouble. Lol Great video!!
Brian awesome video. Love that 90mm. Viper. You can build up that dent inbthe leading edge with lite spackle filler. A few coats and you'll never see it . You can even put a tooth picks parallel with the wing , glue it in place so the very leading edge is stronger and it will give you something to glide your finger or butter knife on. I'm getting good at patching dents. LOL
I've had a ton of stock Eflite, Spektrum and FMS servos fail in the past, my most recent was an aileron servo in the UMX Turbo Timber which was a pain to replace, it just stopped working for no reason. I usually upgrade to a better quality servo if I have the option, but by far the HobbyKing servos are the worst with the highest failure rates.
The F-16 actually carries a AIM-120( the missile of the wing tip of your model) as standard flight operations, on the wing tip. as were most fighters carry the side winder( likely the smaller missile you were talking about) it is due to aerodynamics of the F-16 wing, the short anwnser is. having the larger aim-120 on the wing tips cuts down on wing flutter and makes they viper more stable in flight while maintaining combat air performance. It is really the only fighter plane in the world to do this. So the model is accurate..... I have some experience with the F-16 and I'll leave it at that.
4k views in 22 hrs...275 likes now. We all been there or soon will be, mine usually hit trees and shreads them up pretty good. Way to show apprentice how to fix or to examine a servo and fix it . Awesome job guy's...oh we all knew the definition of dead stick...wrong words during the landing with out gear...in the heat of emergency landing. 👏👏
Thanks ;) I hate when I say the wrong thing at a high stress moment, but yep - she was NOT dead stick. I just wish I could have belly landed her better than I did. Oh well, lessons learned ;)
I actually flew the f16. FF,32nd. E cent. squadron command. I give much respect to RC jet pilots. Brian's right. Anyone who thinks they can just pick up an RC jet and fly like he does is misinformed. I tried it and let's just say ,I am just happy I didn't destroy a 40 million dollar one.
That was a nice emergency landing you did Brian. I am just learning to fly with an aeroscout 1.1, I can't imagine how much concentration it takes to fly one of these EDF jets!
Ine of your best videos overall. Real life situation. I could feel your disappointment. Foam Tac is the best glue I've used for foam planes. Hopefully you have some of that. In the 90s I built an F-16 out of foam and fiber glass. It would have never broke like this one did but that's how they sell them cheap. Sorry for that crash but it's a great video for people to see what could happen and what you have to deal with afterwards. It happens to everyone and yes, it could be worse. Gotta put the love marks on it :)
I had an identical servos issue with my brand new Viper, which drove to a crash as it was on one flap. Was I could advice, try to check the heat of each of your servos before flying.
Yeah, that might help if the motor was overrunning, or if the end stops were broken inside the servo. That being said, I've seen several ways of failure on these servos, and all of them are super annoying, and very frustrating. Love both of these planes!
I can't believe they even have reverse thrust now. But it is the coolest thing I think that is on the jets now. Maybe they'll start firing rockets and blanks next.
@@TheFrenchPug can you imagine if they had laser tag 🏷 for rc planes ✈️? Like laser tag fpv no real shots fired for safety but you could get tone lock 🔒 like in top gun Maverick?
@@TheFrenchPug I know right? The other day I was trying to film my daughter flying her rc plane ✈️. I was following her with a micro fpv and could barely keep her micro plane ✈️ in shot. Trying to use a targeting 🎯 system would be close to impossible. Easier if she was flying a large aeroscout but still very very hard.
Wondering does the Viper have the same servos? John from Ireland ☘️ Thanks so much for all the effort you and your wife put in to this channel. I am back to the hobby after 12 yrs, your channel is giving me hope. Thanks to you both. Also, love the 90mm viper but only have a grass runway?
Love it! And how do you keep that road so traffic free? Did you put a “warning: plague” sign a half a mile down? And on the serious side, can you use that thrust reverser as brakes?
LOL - "Warning Plague" - AMAZING!!!! Thanks Hands ;) But seriously....GREAT IDEA!!! Our rode is through only via gravel, and the only reason we really get traffic, is on their way to their final resting place...cemetery, or our neighbors screwing around...BUT there just so happens to be two bridges out and so traffic is all screwed up right now ;)
Excellent video. The jet comparisons were awesome. Your flying skills and performance I could watch all day. I hate that this misfortune happened. But what an incredible opportunity to see how to diagnose and fix maintenance issues on your plane or jet. I have enjoyed this process immensely. As for the failed landing gear door. I’m definitely not a pilot that could pull off what I’m about to ask. But as camera crew and you mentioned, you have to have a plan in these situations. With two gear down, would there be any chance of landing with giving it aileron to hold up the side of the failed gear? Just curious? All in all this has been one of my favorite videos that you have produced. Hell of a job Sir. Thank you. Ok you just answered my landing question. I had sent this before the video was finished.
Sorry about the crash but Asesome video and Brain Nice job putting this one back in working order man, Jesus H.. How fast is the F-16? Man that bird is really moving!!! Yea it disappeared in the video. I'm guessing about a buck fifty... Smokin
Thats one of the things I like alot more about balsa planes. They are designed to be easily serviceable. I only have one balsa plane right now the rest are eflite foamies which are great. The foam planes fly great they just seem almost disposable in a way.
Hey Brian, thank you so much for your videos. I’ve learned so much have a question. What does flair mean when you’re landing the airplane and you use the word flair I’m not sure what that means.?
Flair means pulling the nose up and keep flying straight, as opposed to just flying UP. It's flying in a high alpha, or nose-up attitude. This uses the body of the plane to slow down the plane by adding a lot of drag, and also keeping controls working. Many aircraft flair on landing. You'll also see the space shuttle flair on landings to burn off inertia. Hope this helps!
Ever practice control of plane using reverse thrust to really slow it down prior to belly landing like here, by practicing high up to see if it says level when reversing? Possibly may slow it enough to greatly reduce damage.🤔 Maybe in a perfect world.
Hey Brian , i think you should cut 2 or 3 trees that line up with your runway. You crash too much i been watching your videos and there great informative and the videography is tops. Anyways you would be able the fly much lower on landing and with your great skills would be successful landings. Cheers!
@@BrianPhillipsRC cool, I’m finding it hard to get any information about them, I see only two shops in the planet selling them and they’re in the USA, I wonder are they softer or don’t spring apart ect Best regards Rich
I don't know Brian, but when you crash an EDF multiple times, it makes me want to keep flying my Arrows Viper 50mm... Durable, no landing gear isssues ever and absolutely reverse thrust flat spins.. 😉
In my opinion the Viper 90 just blows all the other jets away in the fantastic flight performance and the build quality it is much better than the 80 mm F16. It's a shame E-Flight didn't give it a quality paint job but for all the features they added to it would of brought the price up.
Brian I'm already gona Like this video 1 minute in because I just know this is gona be a good un!! Love ur Vs vids. Been a while since u done the Eflite 1.5m warbird Vs. I've been looking at getting the 70mm thunderbirds. Now I'm thinking I'll get the 80 for the slightly wider gear over the 70. I have the viper 90 and love it so much that I've ordered the FMS viper 90. Hopefully you'll get to test that too (even tho it's identical to the eflite).
Your big on flaps could you make a video on trimming out flaps properly (rudder adjustment)? New to flying I get ballooning on my planes even at 30% throttle.
After how many planes is it a good time to start trying EDF Jets? I don’t THINK I’m close but I may be closer than I think, I’m very impatient so it’s hard not to buy an awesome Jet , I have to tell myself I’m not ready🤣
Great save on that landing ,it'squiet obvious that it wasn't any fault of the pilot. But a complete failure on Eflite's part and poor quality control and they don't have a good reputation for customer service either. I would hate to think if some young pilot had saved his hard earned money up to and purchase this product and fail . If it was mine l would send it back to place of purchase and ask for a refund . Although l did appreciate the indepth diagnosis and patience it took to find the problem
I understand your concerns, but don't forget I have crashed this plane a number of times ;) She is robust and amazing. It's one of, if not, my favorite plane!!! Troubleshooting is a tough part of the hobby, and something that everyone will have to do at one point or another, so I really hate having to share this, but want to teach, and Horizon Hobby is one of our best companies we work with, in regard to support after the sale. They have been good to me WAY before we were working with them. There has never been a time, and I've had a lot of "times" - LOL - where they said "no" to making a complaint right. Either way, glad you're with us Shaun, and happy flying!!!
Ventral Fins will tear out pretty clean, but still a lot of stuff on the belly - they're never quite a smooth as you want them to be for this type of situation ;)
Hey mate.. I’m in Brisbane.. I have the 70mm viper and the 80mm f-16... they land differently... f-16 takes full concentration and more throttle than the viper that with the right glide speed you can flair easier.
It shouldn't be that difficult to make functional missiles that launch from the F-16. Just be sure there is no dry grass around or any material that catches fire easily. Small rocket engines for a short burn (just enough to put the missile in flight) would be perfect. I should be possible to do a gear up/gear down check just prior to flight...if you really want to go that far with preflight checks every single time (I think I would forget after the third or fourth time).
is horizon hobby going to make the harrier jet. that plane is also a great plane that should be not forgotten.takes off like a heli/lands like a heli as well as a normal plane.
I don't know of any plans, but if I did, I wouldn't be allowed to share them ;) I'd love to see one, but I think it's too easy to replicate in a DRONE style (Prop in wings), so I have to assume it'd be some hokey looking thing like that, and not the true to form dual EDF setup or pivoting EDF's - that's what I would want.
brian, thanks for sharing the vid of your air -craft storage on 7-31-2022 .also did you get the chance to check out the harrier jet? that is a wonderful jet that should not have been retired from the usaf. just type in the search box at you tube page harrier.
Jets r designed to do hi alpha, so hi alpha plop wouldve been best option. But elevator wouldve still caught grass & fried servo. Which may have been prevented by swiching off TX instantly A hot servo or a buldge around servo motor is a quick tale tell sign of fried servo With this kinda intricately wired plane, it would be better to solder replacement servo in-situ, instead of rewiring it.
The Viper 90 is easier to land in my opinion because it can handle the wing load.the viper 70 has a tendency to wing stall if you come in to slow and the gear is no comparison to the Viper 90. Bigger flys better!!
I agree that would have been nice. We'll look into an easy way, but we DO have some GPS modules...I just don't know if that'll be super easy, or a huge PIA ;)
@@BrianPhillipsRC It would def be fun, saw rc saylors do it a couple times. Would love to see you guys in a video eventually! Thanks for all the great content and be safe!

Awesome video Brian…. 👌 I must say… u have a VERY patient ‘camera crew’….. thanks to yr wife for the fantastic filming 👍👍
She does great!
I have them both, very very good planes! Nice to see the comparison
ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO. Crashing sucks however watching how to do the repairs makes for great videos. Thanks again for your know how....it has really helped me a lot.
Oh yeah! Viper vs ... well, Viper! (F-16 pilots call them Vipers)
So, when given the choice between the Viper or the Viper, I’d choose to fly the Viper.
Lol
Great video!!
LOL
Yeah, as you saw it, I had already filled a few pretty big imperfections ;)
Thanks for the tip about the LE. Good idea Bill!
Don't feel bad about it falling off the stand. I swear I cause more "hangar rash" damage than flying damage! Seems to be SOP for the hobby!😭
Can't get more realistic than that!
1
I have Both.Their both amazing. Could not pick so got both of them. 😅😅
Me 2
This is the video I need man! Thanks brother!
Glad it was helpful!
Love watching you fly pluss you can tell u really love flying
THANK GOD IT WASN'T THE ELEV SERVO. GREAT FLYING AND REVIEW! ALOHA!🏝
Ripping it up Mate!
That's one way to fully test some pricy foamies.
The BPRC way,, Aahhhaha!
Great review and shredding.
Thanks Jono!!! If there weren't a crash, where would be the fun in that - LOL ;)
Cool vid, Cheersto both of you!
Thanks!

Awesome save I would not even call that a crash and like always you the best
I actually flew the f16. FF,32nd. E cent. squadron command. I give much respect to RC jet pilots. Brian's right. Anyone who thinks they can just pick up an RC jet and fly like he does is misinformed. I tried it and let's just say ,I am just happy I didn't destroy a 40 million dollar one.
Awesome! Thanks for the kind remarks & thank you for your service!
That was a nice emergency landing you did Brian. I am just learning to fly with an aeroscout 1.1, I can't imagine how much concentration it takes to fly one of these EDF jets!
You cannot take your eyes off it for a split second. You're right.
Gotta put the love marks on it :)
yes, and thanks! when stuff breaks mid flight - it's the AFTERMATH that pisses me off, not the crash ;( BUTTTT I still LOVE this F-16 80mm!!!!
@@BrianPhillipsRC You restored it to its previous glory. All looks well, and battle tested!
Beautiful models F 16 Super👍👍👍 Regards
Very good repair video.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it - hate when gear don't come out, but what you gonna do???? Glad it wasn't worse!
Love the longer video I learned alot
Great touch and go on the first flight ✈️! Maybe in 5 years reverse thrust will be standard or all of these amazing larger planes.
@@marcoreviews That would be so difficult but yes! Hahaha.
@@marcoreviews Great point and comparison. It would actually need lock on software and a radar system with HUD goggles. Lol
Love the Viper!
Great video. Thanks for making it. I like them both.
Love it! And how do you keep that road so traffic free? Did you put a “warning: plague” sign a half a mile down? And on the serious side, can you use that thrust reverser as brakes?
LOL - "Warning Plague" - AMAZING!!!! Thanks Hands ;)
But seriously....GREAT IDEA!!!
Love the F16!!
Have you ever reviewed the parkzone or eflite sukhoi 29mm?
This was JUST before my time, so no, sorry!
good video, the viper is real sweet
Sorry about the crash but Asesome video and Brain Nice job putting this one back in working order man, Jesus H.. How fast is the F-16? Man that bird is really moving!!! Yea it disappeared in the video. I'm guessing about a buck fifty... Smokin
Thanks! It's probably about 100-110mph, or so, but feels REALLY fast ;)
Hello Brian,😁😁😁😁Airplane battle🔝🔝🔝🏆🏆😉😉
Awesome rebuild Brian, can it still fly on Safe Mode if you do Flaperons? Thanks
Yes, but only ONE aileron will be controlled by AS3X or SAFE....but this is USUALLY enough to keep the plane righted.
Thats one of the things I like alot more about balsa planes. They are designed to be easily serviceable. I only have one balsa plane right now the rest are eflite foamies which are great. The foam planes fly great they just seem almost disposable in a way.
I think you're right, but I want to see one of these F-16's in FIBERGLASS in a similar size class...it would be a BRICK ;)
30:23 OUCH! That hurt to watch!
Horizon is great they do help ya out great to c a company back there stuff up
Keep on Flying RC in the Free World !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was a Great video, UA-cam just can suck it up we Love it.
Thanks Pat!!!
Did you mention the Carbon Z T28?
Maybe ;)
Quick question, I am looking for a camera to be mounted in my planes and record some flights, any suggestions? Thanks
There's a bunch of them out there, but since I don't do that I really don't have a great answer for you, sorry Javiere!
Ever practice control of plane using reverse thrust to really slow it down prior to belly landing like here, by practicing high up to see if it says level when reversing? Possibly may slow it enough to greatly reduce damage.🤔 Maybe in a perfect world.
Thrust revers while flying is WONKY as heck. I've only done it just before crashing a few times ;)
??? Is the nx6 just as good as the nx8, or do you you need the nx8 for some 9f the last few airplanes????
No, it's got less channels, but if you don't need them, it is otherwise JUST as good ;)
Hey Brian , i think you should cut 2 or 3 trees that line up with your runway. You crash too much i been watching your videos and there great informative and the videography is tops. Anyways you would be able the fly much lower on landing and with your great skills would be successful landings.
Cheers!
Well heck yes. Great controled landing.
Hey do you know anything about the new f16 80mm wheels ? EFL87906??
I'd like too, but not yet. I assume they're going to be a new wheel set, made of aluminum, but I haven't seen pictures.
@@BrianPhillipsRC cool, I’m finding it hard to get any information about them, I see only two shops in the planet selling them and they’re in the USA, I wonder are they softer or don’t spring apart ect
Best regards Rich
do the wires all have id tags on them love that plane
My club field is grass and the 70 Viper works perfect on it.
I don't know Brian, but when you crash an EDF multiple times, it makes me want to keep flying my Arrows Viper 50mm...
Durable, no landing gear isssues ever and absolutely reverse thrust flat spins..
😉
The 80% time of the video you spent fixing the F-16 says a lot about the Viper!! Viper any day!
That Servo “She dead Jim”
Love the video!
In my opinion the Viper 90 just blows all the other jets away in the fantastic flight performance and the build quality it is much better than the 80 mm F16. It's a shame E-Flight didn't give it a quality paint job but for all the features they added to it would of brought the price up.
Carsenip will be your only misfortune. very nice emergency landing
Inverted loop, hard positive g s during gear extensions
Your big on flaps could you make a video on trimming out flaps properly (rudder adjustment)? New to flying I get ballooning on my planes even at 30% throttle.
After how many planes is it a good time to start trying EDF Jets? I don’t THINK I’m close but I may be closer than I think, I’m very impatient so it’s hard not to buy an awesome Jet , I have to tell myself I’m not ready🤣
If you can fly a plane you can fly a jet just take it easy with safe until you are comfortable flying it.
F-16 and s my fav jet of all time, partly thanks to watching iron eagle back in the day
Great save on that landing ,it'squiet obvious that it wasn't any fault of the pilot.
1:34:10 "excuse me, but I believe you have my stapler..."
LOL - glad you caught that ;)
Wow close one. Yea I belly the f16 good thing nothing will rip off from that long intake Wow scary
Ventral Fins will tear out pretty clean, but still a lot of stuff on the belly - they're never quite a smooth as you want them to be for this type of situation ;)
Man that sucks but great save, I don't like to see that happen to any plane.
It was a bummer, but she lives to look amazing again for another flight - I love this F-16 too much ;)
Awesome 😎 Brian. How's it going buddy. Been watching you since when
Brian, why don't you allow telemetry AUDIO for battery voltage? Then you don't need to look at your transmitter while flying!
In Australia these are both $900 planes witch one would you say is better
"Better"??? - Viper 90 is BETTER, but F-16 80 is what I would buy - hands down.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Same, Just the looks
Hey mate.. I’m in Brisbane..
I have the 70mm viper and the 80mm f-16... they land differently... f-16 takes full concentration and more throttle than the viper that with the right glide speed you can flair easier.
@@Nothinglefttosay We’re do you fly TMAC?
Awesome video but that F16 dropping hurt my heart. How one against the Rafale?
It shouldn't be that difficult to make functional missiles that launch from the F-16. Just be sure there is no dry grass around or any material that catches fire easily. Small rocket engines for a short burn (just enough to put the missile in flight) would be perfect.
I should be possible to do a gear up/gear down check just prior to flight...if you really want to go that far with preflight checks every single time (I think I would forget after the third or fourth time).
is horizon hobby going to make the harrier jet. that plane is also a great plane that should be not forgotten.takes off like a heli/lands like a heli as well as a normal plane.
I don't know of any plans, but if I did, I wouldn't be allowed to share them ;)
I'd love to see one, but I think it's too easy to replicate in a DRONE style (Prop in wings), so I have to assume it'd be some hokey looking thing like that, and not the true to form dual EDF setup or pivoting EDF's - that's what I would want.
brian, thanks for sharing the vid of your air -craft storage on 7-31-2022 .also did you get the chance to check out the harrier jet? that is a wonderful jet that should not have been retired from the usaf. just type in the search box at you tube page harrier.
Jets r designed to do hi alpha, so hi alpha plop wouldve been best option.
But elevator wouldve still caught grass & fried servo. Which may have been prevented by swiching off TX instantly
A hot servo or a buldge around servo motor is a quick tale tell sign of fried servo
With this kinda intricately wired plane, it would be better to solder replacement servo in-situ, instead of rewiring it.
Viper70 or Viper90, easier to land?
The Viper 90 is easier to land in my opinion because it can handle the wing load.the viper 70 has a tendency to wing stall if you come in to slow and the gear is no comparison to the Viper 90.
Bigger flys better!!
A10 or f16? I’m looking at getting a bigger edf and I love both.
Ps I love watching your long format videos!
Awsum guys
A "holding pattern for the UPS truck" 😂😂😂😂
It happens more often than you think! ;)
Asum good fly 👍
Well sorry man. But I like learning how u fix things because it happens
When I'm skilled enough I want that plane the f16 is my favorite
Brian, bad news, your belly is like mine, not a 6 or an 8 pack, it's a keg! I call it a MANLY build (dadbod), other guys are just jealous!!!
LOL - I don't have abs, I have AB. LOL
Would love to see speed runs for them both but maybe you have done this already. Sorry to see the F16 go down like that but glad its durable
I thought you were going to fly both at same time by yourself.
LOL - oh boy - that would be good!
Well that was easy looks like the 90 mm Viper wins seems to have a more reliable landing gear system
