    Dr. Dray!!! Funniest thing happened today: I work a day job for the summer until school starts and I always re -apply my sunscreen in the work bathroom (I have been working here for 4 months now) and today I was applying and a guy around my age (25) pulled out his ceraVe AM and started re -applying as well!! He literally turned to me and said I always see you in here applying so I’m starting! LMAO!!!! Isn’t that crazy! Than I just informed it’s all bc of Dr. Dray!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ Have a wonderful weekend!!

    Thank you, Dr Dray. Great topic and info for your viewers, and perfect for me as well. I tend to over-apply every topical cream/ointments etc. I always think more is better and at times end up with a bigger irritation. Very helpful...when I read “apply a thin layer” I’m never sure what constitutes a thin layer and I think “if a thin layer is good then more works more quickly”. I’ve learned my lesson. Thank you so much and Happy Friday!
    :-) 😊🌞🌻🌼💐

    The "apply thin layer" directive is prevalent and so often misunderstood. Thank you for the visuals and examples. This nuts&bolts info is not always conveyed in the exam room. :)

    So many doctors do not specify how much to use and how to use topical creams. They just assume you know. A lot of times people put on more than should be done.

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  6 років тому +1

      they don't assume you know...they don't have enough time, sadly...the average derm visit, at most, is 15minutes (not by provider choice)

    I'm so glad you did this Q&A! I tend to be heavy-handed with topical applications in general, which is one thing for sunscreens and even moisturizers and quite another for antibiotics, steroids, and other medications. Your visual demonstration of 1 FTU alone made this video worth watching! In a future video, would you do a similar demonstration of the pea-size unit and how to spread it evenly across the face? Maybe something similar to your demonstrations of how you apply sunscreen? Perhaps the next time you demonstrate your PM skincare routine you could show us with tretinoin (assuming you're still using it). I find it very hard to spread the pea-size unit across my face evenly, so I must be doing something wrong!

    Hi Dr. Dray! I hope you and your mom are doing well. Happy weekend. What is your opinion on OcuSoft Lid Scrub? I have been using this to remove my mascara. The ingredients are: Water, PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, PEG-150 Distearate, Sodium Lauroamphodiacetate, Sodium Laureth-13 Carboxylate, Sodium Chloride, 1,2 Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Polyaminopropyl Biguanide, Potassium Sorbate, PEG-15 Cocopolyamine

    My amazon package came in today!! CeraVe moisturizing cream, CeraVe night cream, CeraVe healing ointment, aquaphor baby ointment (for KP), differin, Hado labo skin plumping gel, hado labo foaming cleanser, and hado labo sheet masks!! So happy I’m on the right track to beautiful skin!
    Also I saw a 2% salycilic acid facial wash at dollar tree. Is it safe? It’s only a dollar so idk if I can trust it

    Hi Dr. Dray! It’s nice to see a professional to help people rather than watching a “beauty guru”. I found your channel last night and have already learned so much. Anyway, I just turned 21 and have been dealing with this problem for many years now, probably 16 or 17. I have fine lines under my eyes and dark circles. I have tried many products to reduce the look of these issues. A majority of it is genetics but there is also a factor of lack of sleep and lack of water. Sometimes it’s hard to remind myself to drink more water, so I was looking for a product to help on days I might not get enough sleep or drink enough water. But is this problem common for someone my age? What chemicals or ingredients should I be looking out for? Thank you!

    This doesn’t really have to do with your video but I can’t seek the help of a dermatologist and I am wondering if you can help me? I recently bought .1% tretinoin and it made my skin very wrinkled. I bought it for my acne. I even applied around my eyes for dark circles and now my eyes are wrinkled. I know I was supposed to work my way up in percentage but I did not. Will my skin become normal like how it was before or is it damaged forever. I am 17 years old. Do you have any recommendations as far as products?

    Also am I supposed to rub on the lip until the cream completely becomes Clear or is having some leftover noticeable white stuff fine sometimes?

    Thanks, I have a fungal rash of some sort (possibly Pityriasis according to my Dr. but we aren't entirely sure) on my neck and some on my arm and a few other places apparently, and I had no idea how much to use. Can I keep rubbing the cream in till it dries? That's how I did it so far...I've only done it once so far. Also have a question I wonder if you knew. Can these fungal rashes cause a rapid heartbeat or panic attack like symptoms? For some reason over the past few days my heart's been speeding up rapidly and it's been freaking me out. Maybe time for an ER visit?

    I know that with Retin-A you're only supposed to use a pea-sized amount applied to your entire face but it never feels like it's enough to cover the whole face evenly. Do you have any suggestions on how to get it on in an even layer? Thanks! xox

    I've always been given way too much. I had a little spot of ringworm on my arm that needed treatment, maybe the size of my thumbprint at the most--I was given a big tube of clotrimazole and two smaller tubes of betamethasone to more or less equal one large tube. I ended up with a few more spots as time went on, but I barely used any of it by the time they expired. With a different doctor, I had tinea versicolor on my underboob/belly area, and I was given 2-3 bottles of ketoconazole when 1 was plenty.

    Hi Dr Dray. I’m wondering whether all the sunscreen that we put on, though helps to prevent skin cancer, allows our body to synthesise vitamin D3. Have you recently checked your vitamin D levels, and would you recommend a D3 supplement?

    • @DrDrayzday
      @DrDrayzday  6 років тому

      You have to discuss with your treating physician if a) checking vitamin D is indicated for you based on your medical history and b) if vitamin D supplementation is recommended. Sun exposure is not a safe way to obtain vitamin D. Wearing sunscreen is not an indication for a vitamin D test.

    Dr. Dray, I use a cream (triamcinolone) for my vitiligio. It's has a very drying effect on my face. I have been adding a little aquaphor ointment after I apply the steroid cream. Will it affect its potency?

    I’m on a topical steroid for my shin. I have eczema and my dermatologist gave me clobetasol .05% for pretibial papular dermatitis. I’m just curious about skin thinning. Like will my skin regenerate once it’s thinned?

    A pea size amount of my epiduo can *never* cover my whole face becasue I have a lot of facial hair and it catches it (male, and I'd like to not have to shave off my semi-beard!). Is it okay for me to use more in that instance? I always end up having to use like 3-4 peas

    Why does everyone start videos with "Hi, Guys"? I find it offensive to always be called a guy. How would guys feel if videos were started with "Hi, Gals"? Please quit grouping all viewers into the same gender. How about "Hello, everyone"?
