The sunscreen that gives me instant glow and hydration is the rice berry sunscreen from littlllextra. Apply a generous amount evenly to all exposed areas, such as the face, neck, and arms, 15 minutes before heading out into the sun. Its lightweight and non-greasy formula makes it perfect for everyday use. With niacinamide and vitamin C, it brightens the face and imparts a lovely glow.
I remember a friend suggested riceberry sunscreen to me during the summers, and I got it right away. I’ve been using it since then, and I’ve completely fallen for it! I’m combination skin type. I’ve even got my mom to try it. It has such a great finish. I’ve also tried the Requil one, but idk why I don’t like how it just sits on my skin. So, riceberry is my go-to.

I am someone who has allergic skin. It’s not uncommon for my neck to turn bright red if I put something on my face. Or my eyes to swell. Aveeno Calm and Restore serum is a good one. Eucerin Q10 anti wrinkle cream is thick and doesn’t cause breakouts. Super amazing for dry sensitive skin.

Yes, please, an evening Prequel routine for dry, sensitive, aging skin. 65 years old, very clear skin. I find it’s changing and what it liked, it doesn’t. Skin texture is weird, dullness, sometimes red areas….needs more/different…maybe an active….i currently use Vanicream gentle cleanser and cream + a retinol, which I have used forever. I’m even having trouble with my oil cleanser which seems to be causing breakouts, which I never get. I do have a fantastic water-resistant sunscreen (from Europe and the only one I don’t break out from). Curious why you didn’t use your cleanser….

I thought I had rosacea so I made an appointment to see a Dermatologist. She thought I just had extremely sensitive skin not rosacea. I’m 61, have menopausal very dry, sensitive skin. I would love to use some form of Vitamin A but I find it’s almost impossible to use on my cheeks but I’m able to use on my forehead only. Your Prequel Gleanser is now my favorite cleanser. I have purchased 6 bottles & I use it not only on my face but all over my body as well. Thank you for making it fragrance-free! I would love to see a Prequel skin care routine. Thank you so much.

It took me yearsssss to realize i could not tolerate niacinamide. If anyone is struggling with “gentle labeled” products and still sensitive to them and flaky, try to eliminate niacinamide and see if it helps!
Yep, I can tell if there is the slightest amount of niacinamide in a product, and it's everywhere!
Yes ! I used Cerave for years b/c derms push it but I left me flaky and irritated!
One more here! I didn’t know for a while why even applying products targeted for sensitive skin, my skin felt so spicy. When I decided to try Vichy Mineral 89, but the one called Probiotic Fractions instead of the regular one and stung SO BAD, I saw the culprit right away. Such a bummer to be sensitive to an ingredient as prevalent, but at least once you are aware you can avoid it.
Niacinamide burns my skin too! I thought it was in my head at first.
My problem is hyaluronic acid. It's in everything, but my skin hates it.
I'm 45 and had very dry, flaky skin. I switched to SeneGence Dry formula skincare, and it solved my problem in a week. I also use SeneGence Climate Control w/ hyaluronic acid to infuse the hydration and allll of their treatments-- their Lifting & Firming Neck Cream works immediately! I love your informative videos. As a cheap queen, Medik8’ s retinaldehyde (currently using Crystal 20, maximum strength) is the very first product in my life that has made me -spend- invest a mini fortune payed with pleasure and a smile. After fighting acne and scars for almost two decades (it includes ilostcount isotret courses and laser sessions) you don' t want to loose your deserved achieved dolphin skin. I still struggle with the Cinderella SPM Syndrome (Somebody Pinch Me, this skin cannot be real🤯, cannot be MINE😍, tomorrow the carriage will be a pumking again...). Shoes, bras, skin + hair products must prove me that they are beyond worth their price. And Medik8 did it. Meanwhile, my fav matte red lip ever is 4'50€ and my holy grial brow pencil is 2'50€ and, at 50 yo, I can' t remember a day in my life without brows + lips.

I have Rosacea and messed up my skin barrier a while back. I've learned a lot since then, and it's so much better now. Because of your recommendation, I started using Stratia Night Shift Retinol. I used it once a week for a month with no problem. I just started twice a week. I'm hoping it will not aggravate my skin. Thanks 😊

Great video! I use retina A (small amount) about 3-4 times a week and the other nights I use CeraVe exfoliating cream. Then I use neutrogena hydro boost cream. I have sensitive mature skin, these work well for me.

I 100% would love a Prequel-based routine!
Things that have helped when my skin is really struggling is Vanicream cleanser, Prequel Skin Utility spray, Anua Heartleaf toner, and Skin1004 Centella ampoule. Moisturizer is tricky as someone with highly reactive skin that also gets congested at the drop of a hat, but Prequel Skin Utility Ointment has been a nice go-to!

Yes on your skin care routine for sensitive skin. I need the sensitive skin care diet. I’ve gotten where I sensitive to everything. Even to my hands.

I tried Bioderma Micellar Water and it made the skin under my eyes itch like crazy. I don’t have over-reactive skin. I use 0.1% Tretinoin, with no side effects at all.
I find that my Retin-A is moisturizing enough and I don't need a separate moisturizer. Makes my routine easier!
As someone who struggles with sensitive skin (eczema and dry) prone. i can only use vanicream cleqnser and moisturzer cream. i bought your prequel gleasner and now i have 2 cleansers that i now can use. i cannot wait to try more from your line. My morning routine: rinse with water, moisturzer and sunscreen. Night routine: centella cleasning oil, cleanser, and moisturizer. i wanna a few thing into my routine but i slowly test products out

Your Lucent-C is the ONLY L-Asorbic acid products I've ever been able to tolerate! I have sensitive skin and it is great. Although the distribution method is not great, it sprayed me in the eye one time.

Your utility spray and redness reform serum allow me to be a little reckless with my actives. I now feel confident using actives knowing your products will save me - especially with my perioral dermatitis prone skin! I LOVE them SO MUCH!!!

I love your Prequel products! You may already be working on this and it would be awesome if you would develop an oil cleanser. So many have tons of fragrance that irritate my skin. I swear by your gel cleanser!

And as for my sensitive skin favorites… all I do is rinse my face with water in the morning. And then start with prequel hypochlorous acid, then a compound cream for rosacea, then Sunday Riley vitamin C, prequel multi-quench, Paula’s choice clear moisturizer, beauty of Joseon sunscreen, or EVY sunscreen mousse if I want my sunscreen to last most of the day. And then at night Paula’s choice oat cleanser, Elta MD cleanser, then azaleic acid since I have rosacea, then adapalene or Sunday Riley good genes lactic acid, and then laneige sleeping cream.)
I would NEVER not wash my face after using mycellar water. I use it as a first of two cleanse. Some mycellar waters have some funky ingredients that you wouldn't want to leave on the skin. Double-cleanse for the win!

All I can say is Japanese or HEIMISH Korean Cleanser and Moisturizer. Be sure to double cleanse am/pm. 50 SPF Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence it's my go to am for my 54yr òld dry, sensitive skin.

Medik8 Crystal Retinal 1 was my dermatologist recommendation for my sensitive reactive skin…..it made a really noticeable difference for signs of aging after 6 months. I worked up from once a week to 6 times a week over several months I’m waiting for my annual visit to discuss if I move up to the next strength.
Aside from this Medik8 Press and Glow used weekly on the off Retinal night has worked from me.
All my other skin care is the Australian brand QV FACE, as per derm recommendation, it’s a very simple pharmacy skin care line for sensitive skin, similar to Vanicare I believe.
I exclusively use Naked Sundays Collagen Mineral Glow Sunscreen, I can only tolerate mineral sunscreen on my face and I’m so in love with this sunscreen.

I really struggle with this! I use to use ALLL the products de jour then all of a sudden everything caused a hive like condition so could only tolerate Vaseline. This/your content is a Godsend. I have/love the #1 Medik8 and have found a few exfoliants/other but ready to stop with all the hype, expense and searching so I join all the others here who are requesting both morning and night time routines using Prequel. I have sensitive skin and i always double cleanse i use the bioderma micaller water and i love it always thought it was enough to cleanse but followed with a cleanser out of habit its so interesting to me to see a professional is satisfied with just a micaller cleanse definitely gonna try it !
Can you please make a video on oil cleansers, balms, micellar waters, and pure oils (e.g., olive, coconut, sweet almond, jojoba, etc) that are best for very sensitive skin? I need something to remove water-resistant sunscreen, so that it doesn’t break me out. I’ll try the micellar water you suggested in this video, but if that doesn’t work out, I’d like to know of other options I can try. I’m currently not wearing sunscreen because the La Roche-Posay Mineral sunscreen I tried recently broke me out badly, which I suspect is due to my cleanser (Vanicream facial cleanser) not washing it off fully at the end of the day. So, the leftover sunscreen accumulated on my skin, and it broke me out after a few days of me using the sunscreen. On top of that, the cleansing was drying out my skin because I was washing my face multiple times in a row with my Vanicream cleanser, yet it still wasn’t removing all of the sunscreen. So, I really need some cleansing options that are good for very sensitive skin, and won’t dry out the skin. This is extremely important to me because I can’t wear sunscreen until I find a way to properly remove it, and I really want to start wearing sunscreen. I just need something that works for my skin, that won’t cause irritation or dryness. I haven’t found any videos that go over products for sensitive skin for removing water-resistant sunscreen. All of the videos I’ve seen, only talk about water-based cleansers, which from my experience, aren’t effective at properly removing water-resistant sunscreen. Also, many products recommended contain hyaluronic acid in them, which is an ingredient that my skin is very sensitive to (hyaluronic acid severely dries out my skin to the point where my skin becomes very tight & fine lines appear all over my face).
Would love to see some Prequel only routines and mixed Prequel and other brands routines.

The only thing that I have found that I can use consistently without any burning/stinging/tomato red face is actually from the Dollar Tree: Skin Nutrition Botanicals Vitamin C Serum. I've used it for years (when it's in stock of course). More recently another brand called Global Beauty Care has also had some products that (so far) seem to work well for me. But even products marketed for sensitive skin don't usually work for me over time. Especially Aveeno for some reason. My skin hates Aveeno.

Great video, Dr. Sam...but, WOW $86 for a moisturizer seems a bit excessive. Vanicream works great for sensitive skin and is a fraction of the cost.
Thanks! I think a lot of people are already familiar with Vanicream, but in my experience, it still doesn’t work for everyone. One of my goals with this channel is to introduce people to skincare that they might not know about otherwise!

Hi Dr Ellis ! I have trouble knowing if what I have is a damaged skin barrier or rosacea : my cheeks are slightly red and swollen and they are huge visible pores there that you usually can’t see. It doesn’t want to heal at all even though I’ve been cutting all actives out of my routine :(
In your rosacea video, you mentioned the exact same aspect your skin had, but you said you used sulfur and Azelaic acid to remedy the problem.
Do you think I should just moisturiser and slug like I’ve been doing or use azelaic acid to heal ?
