You guys should really react to "Fury" with Brad Pitt, Jon Bernthal and Shia Labeouf. Awesome movie. Some unrealistic scenes, but the chemistry between the actors is off the charts. Think you'd like it.
This movie did one thing i loved. When I was a kid, i always wondered about the crashed ships, and how they probably had some surviving aliens. So the whole bit with the african warlords who fought a ground war against them, I thought that was the coolest part.
I believe the novel tie-in to the 1st movie opens with the aftermath of the aliens defeat and human ground forces trying to clear one of the downed city-sized saucers. The rest of the novel is a prequel of sorts, dealing with the original crash of the alien fighter in the 1950's.
This is an interesting fact. Roland Emmerich hates this movie. He hated making this movie. He had the whole other script built around Will Smith's character but due to scheduling, Will had to go film Suicide Squad. Roland was going to shelve it and wait for him to finish but the studio said no and forced him to do the movie anyway. He then sits down and rewrites the whole entire script into what the movie is now. Jeff Goldblum was once asked as to why he signed onto the film and if my memory is correct, I believe his answer was "Money".
@Jurassic Hero Yep there was. I have no idea where you can find it. I'm sure Roland still has it, haven't heard anything about it leaking so you probably won't see it. Roland will either put it out there for the masses to read or it will get leaked or never come out. You can try googling it but I doubt you will have any luck.
@Jurassic Hero Yeah. Some of this version of the movie had it's moments and cool visuals but the whole hive mind and planet drill ship is a bit too much for me, since you didn't even hear about anything like that in the first. The only reason why all the ships failed in the first was cause they destroyed the mother ship in space and planted a virus, it wasn't linked to the beings themselves. You can tell how badly it was put together that it wasn't his original idea and clearly wasn't thought out. He just wrote it to put it out there. The movie bombed cause of how bad the script was, yet the studio made it that way by forcing him to rewrite it.
Fun fact: If you guys pause the scene of the wall with the names....you can see Russel Case's name on there. He was the one who flew the aircraft into the beam that saved Area 51.
Even though it's flawed, I still liked this movie (not nearly as much as the first, but that's a given). I would still love to see a third film to finish off the franchise. Great reaction!
Yeah, same. I'm not a movie expert, I'm just a simple person. Maybe the movie wasn't very well critically acclaimed or something like that, I still liked it. From an ordinary person pov it's good. I had a good time watching the first one, and this was no exception. I really wonder why it's not loved as much. For example, the movie Dune, which was praised so much, actually really disappointed me. Now that was boring
This is why I say never end a film on a cliffhanger, because nothing is a given afterwards. There was plans for a third film but after this one failed to make as much money they scrapped it
Sorry but this movie very bad and honestly Their win make no sense so having third movie wouldn't make any sense if the one coming next would had much much higher tech but still commanded by braindead Alien like the Queen in this second Movie but the First Movie quite good bcz the Alien lose still okay🙈🙈🙈 this second one Plot Armour very, very thick and if theres a third movie with even more Invasion, It would be Trash Writing if Earth not destroyed🥴🤨

I am amazed I saw this day of release... and I had forgotten everything single plot point of the film. Honestly the only thing I remember is will isn't in it!
42:38 2012 and day after tomorrow are both made by Emmerich but he did other movies after Independence Day (ID for short) for example Patriot , 10000 BC or White house down wich have very different vibes then ID
This movie was exactly how I imagined a sequel to ID4, back when it came out, when I was 10. Turns out, movie ideas from when you were 10 don't translate that great to the big screen.
Yikes. I'm pretty sure I saw this movie in the theater when it came out, and then completely forgot everything about it. Rewatching highlights of it here . . . that actually makes perfect sense. What a bland, forgettable movie. The effects are certainly impressive on a technical level and quite a spectacle, but nothing completely in their own league, and the story it's hanging on is so derivative and soulless that none of it leaves an impact.
Calvin, the reason the tug couldn't escape the Mothership's gravity well is because it was far more powerful than Earth's gravity well and the tug was tuned to Earth's gravity not the ship's. Basically the tug's propulsion was too weak, at least without the Fusion Drive and that would destroy the tug and kill the occupants.
I remember kinda liking it on the first viewing. But maaaan it really fell off because it’s just bad and boring. Wastes a lot of interesting ideas and is glutted with some of the worst Emmerich has to offer. The few good things are Jeff Goldblum, his character’s dad (seriously that guy barely aged compared to the rest of the cast), and Dr. Okun. They got waaaaay too confident sequels would be made. Sigh.
Sadly, it was scrapped due to this film not being as successful at the box office as the 1996 film. The original made $817 million but Resurgence only made $389 million. It made less than half so it’s no surprise they aborted any plans for another film
The Fast and Furious movies actually make money, this movie was a gigantic bomb in the box office. Including marketing costs, it likely lost the studio over 100 million dollars.
I met Brent Spiner and actually asked him about it. At the time when I met him, Disney was acquiring 20th Century Fox....so naturally his answer was depended if Disney wanted to pick up another sequel. Found out a year ago that the 3rd movie was cancelled because this movie didn't do that well in the box office.
@@bethanyromano2740Correct When you factor in how much the original made in 1996 and the sequel made in 2016, the difference is staggering. The original made $817 million but Resurgence only made $389 million. It made less than half, and that’s not even counting inflation
Roland Emmerich is just not a great director and a subpar writer. Even movies like Stargate and Independence Day had script problems that are overshadowed by the movies being products of the time, excellent casts, unique ideas/visuals and great special effects. Emmerich's last solid movie, White House Down, benefited from being a bit self-aware. Emmerich didn't get a writing credit on White House Down or The Patriot. He's not a good writer. This film was missing Will Smith badly but I don't blame him given how the movie was written. They needed another legitimate star actor. There was also lots of obvious call-backs to the first movie, to the point of it being just straight up ripping off itself. Maybe when we become nostalgic for 90s movies Roland will find his place again but he's just been making the same cheap lazy-written movies for 20 years.
What bothers me most about Emmerich is what he has in common with Ridley Scott: BITTER ENVY. After getting into his disaster movie rut post-ID4 where he just recycled the same movie with different natural disasters, Emmerich suddenly became dead set on rebooting Stargate in HIS vision cause he didn't like what the SG-1 series changed to HIS clealy WAY better original. Either igorant or unwilling to accept that it was the series that built the entire fandom around the franchise, not his original movie which, while enjoyable, was very much a product of it's time and only went skin deep. SG-1 changed things for the sake of actual worldbuilding that went beyond just a two hour 90's action flick. And yet it came as a surprise to Emmerich nobody wanted his reboot of a beloved franchise that span almost 15 years. Ridley Scott had this with the Alien franchise, going so far as to claim anything that wasn't HIS non-canon, wiping the slate clean of over 30 years of media. But let's not open that particular pet Peeve Pandora's box or I'll be here all day. Envy is an ugly thing. It's ugly when you are capable of delivering incredible work, it's ugly when all you deliver is shlock.
I really loved this movie when I watched it and I love the design of the Harvester Queen and her exosuit, best thing to come out of the species and it hadn't changed when I checked the first movie.
The issue with this movie is that, they have all this super advanced alien tech, and use it in the worst ways. Having men on the ground firing small laser rifles at super fast/agile alien fighters is dumb, for the same reason you don't have people trying to shoot down fighter jets with assault rifles, you'll never hit them unless they hover right in front of you. their missiles worked fine in the first movie they just couldn't get past the shields, upgrade missiles to be able to pierce shields, or create shields of your own. It also missed the whole point of the first movie, which was fighting off a massively advanced alien race with modern day technology. When humans suddenly have laser weapons and moon turrets, it feels more like a bog standard sci fi movie rather than one set in modern day.
I loved the first one which is why i couldn't bring myself to finish this movie when i first saw it. I thought some parts extra cringe and were just trying too hard to rip off the first original. 😅 sorry ill still have to pass. But have to say the Kaiju alien was a nice touch.
Would really like a third one Even though this one wasn't that great Still entertaining..Lots of potential if they really do it right have alot of it off World
This movie was so insignificant to me, that I realised just now A-Train was in it. When you cant remember the main guy in a movie, you know its a waste of time
My former roommate had me watch this shit and I hated it. He claimed it was the best movie of the year, he also said the same thing about the Netflix death note movie.
This movie gets so much Hate… I enjoyed it as much as I did the first. It’s equally as Dumb as the first. Thats what made it special in the first place!
I understand that there was a tremendous rewrite of the script, but I absolutely hated so much of this movie. I hated that they killed Jasmine off, needlessly. And I don’t care if this is sci-fi, or not… Something that big landing on earth would throw its orbit completely out of whack. I can only suspend disbelief so much before it becomes stupid.
I for sure thought they were just saving the doctor strange reaction for this weeks movie reaction but I guess I was wrong. I’m just assuming they won’t be doing a reaction for it
My wife and I saw this in theaters. We stayed for the whole thing, as I believe if you’re going to pay for a ticket you should at least watch the whole movie to form a full opinion. But we came so close SO MANY times to walking out. What an absolute dumpster fire of a film. Complete garbage.
God this movie sucked and not only that it bombed at the box office, killing any chances of a third film in the series. Also, they should never have killed off Will Smiths character. Yet Smith was too busy working on the Suicide Squad movie, which was a box office success making $770 million dollars, but recieved negative Reviews by Critics.
Well, the director must be doing something right after all. Call me stupid but I like his movies. I haven't seem all of them, but from what I have seen they have cool visuals. I'm a visual person, if I like what I see then I can sometimes overlook plot holes or something like that. It's not that deep really. Stop acting like ya'll are some kind of critics.
I wouldn't call the movie bad, it's competently made and it's acted decently well. It's just rather boring. I remember enjoying parts of it, while not caring about other parts of it. So to me it's worth watching at least once, just not rewatching it ever.
I forgot this garbage of a movie exists. The fact earth somehow reverse engineering all this tech that fast to build and defend earth makes no sense. Just can't stand the movie. Though obviously I love the visuals.
"in the running for best sequel of all time" Empire Strikes Back, Two Towers/Return of the King, Godfather Part 2, Fury Road, Blade Runner 2049, Before Sunrise/Before Midnight, The Dark Knight, Aliens, Kill Bill Vol 2, The Suicide Squad, Dead Man's Chest, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Toy Story 3, Skyfall, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Spider-Man 2, Prisoner of Azkaban, Logan: "am I a joke to you"
This movie is a level of bad that is hard to fathom. Making a good movie is a miracle but making a movie this bad also takes a miraculous effort or lack thereof.

It's up on there website via patreon membership, it will come to UA-cam soon.
This movie gets so much Hate… I enjoyed it as much as I did the first. It’s equally as Dumb as the first. Thats what made it special in the first place!
Where is sonic the hedgehog movie 2
Next week on youtube
Yes next Friday
I'm just in a little shock with Rick knows what Ubuntu/Linux is 😁.
But yeah movie was ok but could of been better.
I knew MOONFALL was gonna be as bad as this
@BattleAngelFan because it's fucking stupid. Not just bad but actually stupid. Stupid people wrote and directed moonfall.
I’m just assuming they won’t be doing a reaction for it
I’m not a patron but I’m thinking two weeks from now we may get it. Maybe not tho lol
@@Zechree I just think it’s weird because every other MCU movie in the past year they’ve had a reaction out the day it came to Disney plus
If you read the description of this video the answer is right there
@@mickeymouse7726 I don’t see anything in the description talking about Doctor strange
@Falling Star thx
My wife and I saw this in theaters. We stayed for the whole thing, as I believe if you’re going to pay for a ticket you should at least watch the whole movie to form a full opinion. But we came so close SO MANY times to walking out. What an absolute dumpster fire of a film. Complete garbage.
this is not as bad as people make it out to be....
I think Will Smith didn’t want to come back for this at all. So he made a huge money demand which caused them to back off and not bring him back.
Can you guys please react to The SpongeBob SquarePants movie?
God this movie is terrible. Especially at 34:24. That scream ADR is TERRIBLE!
I love the first Independence Day but this movie was just a complete mess.
I really idk how this director is still making high budget movies
He hasn’t made a single good movie, not even one
Midway was good, the critics just shit all over it because it was Emmerich.
I remember actually paying to see this turd in the theater and regretting it about 15 minutes in. Just a complete dog shit film.
I'm cringing because of bad acting. How did they get past the screening?
This movie was bad in the worst way: it was boring and bland and forgettable. It's so ~blah~ that I just forget it exists unless I'm reminded.
Early asf

Too many damn commercials. 6 commercials in 15 minutes. 🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼🖕🏼
I wonder what reaction is going to be more boring. This one or the ms marvel ones?
This movie is a level of bad that is hard to fathom. Making a good movie is a miracle but making a movie this bad also takes a miraculous effort or lack thereof.
