I love how they are so fully vested in the songs they upgrade. So much emotions in their voices. It just draws you into a web of beauty. What a beautiful love song ❤️
This has always been a fave Elvis song of mine. Then I heard this version, and it took my breath away. I LOVE just the voices, no percussion, just Mitch supported by everyone. Gives me goosebumps every time!
This is an amazing version of a classic, Mitch's voice is perfect for it, the 5 part harmonies are beautiful and Avi's bass is the rock the whole thing was built on. Would love to see you react to some of Avi's solo work...Avi is magic.
One of my absolute favorites for PTX as a slower, softer ballad. The 5-part harmony, with Kevin joining in on the singing the whole song, is just beautiful. And Avi's bass line serves as a stunning counterpoint to Mitch's high lead. For some reason, the soft "echoes" that happen at 1:56 and 4:04 just really hit me hard. No idea why, but they do. You've seen enough PTX videos to know that Scott uses his hands almost as much as his voice when he sings. Did you catch what happened at 4:13? For the entire song, no one's been moving at all. In the last few seconds of the song, Scott just couldn't keep his hands still, and had to use them to help get out the last few words, LOL!
The absolutely stunning harmonies in this nearly had me in tears. It's not often that we get a true 5-part harmony and this song was just _made_ for it. I love this group so much! Thank you for your honest and emotional reaction, too. I can't wait to see what's next! [Edited to add] The slower version made it possible to hear each voice more clearly and easier to switch focus from one voice to the other and appreciate what each one contributes to the overall _amazing_ work. Yeah, I cheated and went back to listen to it again. I'm not sorry.
Hello Taylor Family. This is a classic. I loved the version by Elvis Presley and PTX have done a superb job on this. The arrangement, the vocals, the harmonies, the tones and Mitch's solo is beyond beautiful. Love your reactions.
Yes, they slowed it a bit down and it's beautiful ❤️. IMHO too little UA-camrs react to it; it sadly seems a bit underrated. So I'm really happy to watch your delighted face 🤩. Thx
This arrangement was done by Kevin Olusola and Ben Bram (PTX's longtime producer/arranger) Right after this was released, the same arrangement was performed by the choir at A Cappella Academy, a 10-day intensive Summer music camp for kids 12 to 18-years old from around the world, founded in 2014 by Ben, Avi, and Rob Dietz (composer/arranger). This short video is of the rehearsal of the song that was done in full at the end of session showcase. And that's hands-on Avi at the front, singing along with the students. ua-cam.com/video/z00vu_Q3nmY/v-deo.html
UB40 is the one that sped it up. Ya either love or hate it... it grew on me. But this... is a masterpiece. I'd love to see you react to Anchor 🙂 no video but there is a lyric one. It's one of my very favs from them.
the only other cover i've ever heard to do this song justice is, twenty pilots. number one oldies song is, Simon & Garfunkel - bridge over troubled waters. much love from oklahoma!! that song means alot to me.
honestly....it just seems everything these artists get a hold of will either be as good as the original or better.....not once in the almost 10-12 years that they have been together have I heard anything bad and I don't expect I ever will....
I love PTX, but this is the first time that I think that even though they did a great job at it, I still like Elvis Presley's version better. As an Elvis fan, I grew up listening to his songs, and this one in particular, I used to sing it to my sons when they were little before bedtime. That song brings back many memories, especially when my husband was deployed and I was alone with them. Please do a reaction to Elvis's version. It always brings tears to my eyes when I hear it, when it is sung great. PTX did a wonderful job at it too. ua-cam.com/video/ipJtTQkYZZk/v-deo.html
They were GREAT when Avi Kaplan was with them. He has more musical ability in his pinky finger than the rest of the group put together. I always watch PTX videos with Avi, but never without.
So you want to insult the whole of PTX for not breaking up when Avi left? The entire group and Ben Bram chose Matt. Matt is extraordinarily talented, and works many hours a day. Have you seen “You’re a mean one, Mr Grinch!” Matt has the lead on that one. In other words, they are STILL GREAT. Just different. You don’t like it? Then bye-bye!
How can 5 people fill the space so completely and so perfectly????
♥ Gorgeous; the 5-part harmony never fails in a PTX song. I can't wait for the next one!
Perfect harmony....this is when you realize just how in-sync they are with each other. Just a breath of pure relaxation...beautiful.
I love how they are so fully vested in the songs they upgrade. So much emotions in their voices. It just draws you into a web of beauty. What a beautiful love song ❤️
I think you would enjoy reviewing their new video, a behind the scenes making of their album Evergreen. It’s captivating
OMGOSH!!! It's bloody beautiful...it's perfect as always!! Wow!
This has always been a fave Elvis song of mine. Then I heard this version, and it took my breath away. I LOVE just the voices, no percussion, just Mitch supported by everyone. Gives me goosebumps every time!
I enjoyed your reaction to this beautiful Pentatonix video. I love when they do 5-part harmony. "Stunning" was a very accurate description.
I love watching your face and smile. Great reaction.
Every single song that they do that is pure acapella, without even any beatboxing is just pure pleasure to hear . This one is no exception.
✨STUNNING✨

Yes, definitely react to Avi's music.
They are perfection, especially when they do their 5 part harmonies.

Hi. Miss you Welcome back. This is so so beautiful
Lovely reaction - much deserved appreciation for a beautiful arrangement and performance.

Magical.

That was absolutely perfect and very well edited. Just perfect. I’m going now to download it. 🥰
This one digs deep in my soul. I never cared for the Elvis version but, OMG this! Perfection.
Wonderful!
One of my all time favorite PTX covers.

I agree with Jill, you should check out Avi's solo career.
You have to listen to Tim Foust’s audio version of this!
This is still an Elvis song...but they did a beautiful rendition that supersedes all except Elvis.

WOW, that is cutting your nose to spite your face. your loss, BIG TIME
So beautiful. I still think Elvis did it better. The King ! 💙
