Mitch just... MITCH!! Leaves one speechless and without the words to describe how he does what he does. And that does not take away the brilliance of the supporting vocals, the swells, the arrangement, the gorgeous voices combined and individually!!!! Just got my VIP ticket to see them in August!
This was a Kevin arrangement. Let's face it, he's a genius alien unicorn. I just watched a reaction video of 2 guys watching the bohemian rhapsody. And one of them liked it, but the other one was so rude that I just exited, didn't comment. You were fun to watch. You obviously loved it. From the classics album. It was short, but they did 1 song from each decade, starting with the 40s up to the 80s.
@larry granbois I was honestly offended. I mean, PTX spent 5 years trying to make sure that they did a great job covering QUEEN. Brian May even said that they did a good job. I saw them do this live with Matt, during his first tour. I just can't. I mean, I can't sing worth beans, I acknowledge that. But this guy was, wow. He needs a punch to the nose.
@@heidifruchtl354 When the rude guy started making fun of Kevin, I just stopped the reaction. Though I did leave a comment. I asked them to please not do anymore Pentatonix.
I watched Elvis do this live in concert and has always been one of my favorite songs…to say I got chills is an understatement! Listening and watching PTX’s beautiful video is an awe inspiring experience…Mitch’s angelic voice and the 5 part harmonies take my breath away!!! Comparing Elvis with anybody is an exercise in futility…E did what he did and PTX does what they do…I love them both!!!
The LA blizzard warning is for the hills. Above 1500-2000 feet its expected to snow a LOT. Don't forget LA is surrounded by mountains and has some "hills" (what you easterners call "mountains") in the middle. ;-)
If I made a top five, it would be true and exact - until I heard the next song by them. My favorites change all the time. Loved your reaction, as always. Peace from Ohio …
PTX rescued this song for me. It was my wedding song, and I couldn't listen to it after getting divorced 17 years later. Then PTX came out with this version and I can listen to theirs because it just made it new again for me.
One of the rare ones where they have all 5 voices throughout. It's definitely one of my top 50 PTX songs...I refuse to torture myself with any attempt to decide which are my favorite top 5 or 10.
One of my favorites! I loved the stripped back, harmonic arrangement and damn, they all looked gorgeous! Such a great rendition. And your reaction - priceless!
Hey, I've been a subscriber for nearly a year and I never knew that you are a Michigander too! (No, not the singer, the state). I hope you didn't have ice damage. Fortunately I have power, but a lot of homes in my area are without as a result of the ice storm. Congrats to PTX getting their Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I like that you react to 70-80's music I listened to while in school. If you enjoyed PTX doing an Elvis songs, you should react to Home Free's American Pie with Don McLean.
Hello Salvo G. So, so glad that you did this one I loved the Elvis Presley original and this PTX version is fantastic. The harmonies, the arrangement, the vocals are all just beautiful and each time Mitch separates and takes the lead, the clarity, purity and sweetness of his voice is just magic. Can't help falling in love with PTX and with Mitch.
Really enjoyed watching how much this beautiful song affected you! It's one of my favorites as well, at least top 10, maybe top 5 (that particular category tends to change members fairly frequently). The 5-part harmony is so tight, it's hard to imagine this song done any better. And it doesn't hurt that Kirstie looks absolutely gorgeous in this video!
Love this song, and love this cover of it! Beautiful harmonies, perfect tempo. Pentatonix always respects the original, especially with this beautiful song.
Nobody does five part as well as Pentatonix. The oversetting verses is magical. And, just when you think it's only going to be Mitch's expert high notes, Avi drops a big bass bomb.
Grew up in Ohio, so I feel your pain. It has been cold since December in Colorado. Although two days ago it was +60 degrees and even with 12 degrees the snow was melting in the sun today. Love it. Iconic Pentatonix harmonies with a classic song. LOVE, the love the close jazz chords! This is so beautiful being slowed down. Salvo, you MUST be a singer.
So beautiful as usual with them. Pentatonix is coming to pine knob in clarkston sept 3rd tickets go on sale Monday the 27th of February I can’t wait buying tickets Monday morning
I have a nighttime playlist and this is on it. I listen to it every night. 😴😍🥹. 🤗💋🥰. I live in Southern California and we did have a freak blizzard. If you don’t believe it. Look it up. 😁
Okay now somewhere over the rainbow from the same album. No video but audio only is great. It’s another beautiful one but a Kirstie lead. Of course Mitch’s lead on this was incredible as always.
Sorry to hear about your weather woes, been there, done that, its dangerous and no fun. I’m in Minnesota and am much happier dealing with this last weeks storms and blizzards, 20 plus inches of blowing/drifting snow, no travel advised, whiteout conditions, EVERYTHING closed. Finally winding down now, time to dig out of this mess. Just in time for it to start warming up and melting! At least these weather related lockdowns create “You Tube Time” to catch up and binge on favorite reactors content as long as the power doesn’t go out! (Tubular Bells playing in the background!) Love the reaction, just can’t commit to a Top 5 or 10 favorite list myself. It changes with my mood and circumstances. Keep ‘em coming! Thank You!
This song has grown on me. When I first heard it, I thought their version was too slow and even a bit boring. However, the more I hear it, the more I like it.
This is another song that I don't really like the origjnal, but then Pentatonix come along and sprinkle their magical voices over it and hey presto...I'm melting. Itxs just so pretty, the blend is so well done. And Mitch...😍. I had a look through your playlist and I couldn't see My Heart With You, that's a Five part harmony too (with a good chunk of it 3 part too). It's the song that helped inspired them a lot, including writing Run To You. I think if you liked this then you'll love that. They have a version that is from the Christmas Under The Stars special, and I've seen a version from their Hollywood Bowl concert last year (posted on Miles Reuben's channel), both are professionally recorded, the Hollywood Bowl they sang the old school way with just one mic for the 5 of them, whare the other they each have mic. They're both great, I slightly prefer the single mic version. Definitely needs to be on your list. I watched the star unveiling, I didn't expect to get all emotional, but it was my dad's birthday that day, he past in 2015 sadly before I discovered Pentatonix, but he loved a capella and I know he would have thoroughly loved them too, especially Mitch (I could see him being a Sup3rfruit fan too lol), so it was already one of those days, and their friend's speech just touched something that set my eyes leaking, about them forging heir own path. It was interesting to watch. I was sad that there was an empty chair where Avi should have been, though, and no kne mentioned him in their speech. They could have at least acknowledged his contribution. I hope he at least gets a mini copy of the star (like the others got) sent to him. I had to laugh at the woman who runs it, it's very obvious why she does her job! Ultimately, it was fantastic to see them being recognised, the first a capella band with a star, and likely the most diverse group too.
While you're in the Classics (white) album, you should check out the audio only of their cover of the 1940's Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. They use radio static to enhance the song and it's fantastic.
Sorry it’s so cold there. It is 81 currently here (NC) and it was 85 and beautiful yesterday. Not as beautiful as this song sung by Pentatonix ❣️though.
I love the way music just takes you away. I suggest you listen to an artist named Enya. She is an amazing singer and I know you will love her. Start with the song "Only Time".She is a calming energy. She almost belongs on your other channel. You will understand why after you listen.
This is also one of my top favorite's of PTX. I never liked Elvis, and this version will always be the best I have ever heard. Never will want another.
I live in NC too. I am a snow & cold weather lover, so I'm really pissed that so much of the US is getting winter weather right now while I am hiding inside with the AC blasting! Btw, are you going to the Ptx concert in Charlotte? I am def going!!!
As much as I love and respect PTX, I was slightly disappointed they did not mention once in their speech the man who helped them get those Grammys Avi Kaplan. A bit of a let down.
They can’t - legally. Apparently him leaving wasn’t as amicable as people were led to believe. And they weren’t honoring individual members….they were honoring the band as a whole.
