Concerto Copenhagen, thank you so much for interpreting so beautifullly the divine music of J.S. Bach!
The opening movement is absolutely cosmic. The deeper one gets into Bach's music the more all other music recedes into the background - but I still love some of Mozart and Bach's predecessors.
I agree. Only Bach is perfect all the time. Beethoven came up with a lot of first rate music.
*6-* 9:25 Recitative (bass - Matthew Brook): Der Himmel bleibet mir gewiß
*8-* 16:59 Chorale: Gute Nacht, o Wesen
Så skickligt spel av violinisterna!🎉
Simply irresistible music!
Thank you, Concerto Copenhagen! These three pieces must be the tunes played in the Christmas Concert at Garrison Kirche in
2011, which are just what I wanted to watch and listen to, and wrote to you and asked to upload. It’s a great concert as I expected!
creditable performance, good tempi
prachtig
Although it is highly likely that Bach did this more often then we know, this Cantata is one of a few that we know he had to predetermine the number of bars (measures) for parts of this Cantata due to the need to complete this work for the Christmas season.
I might add that as I am also a composer, I do this for every work before writing a note. Makes things much easier.
Antoine Torunczyk plays oboe d'amore at 10:30 - with alto Alex Potter's aria, so touching and beautiful!
Clearly related to Bwv 121 chorale
Very bad sound. Pity
