      Ahsoka should’ve contacted Luke immediately when 3 new “sith” suddenly show up. And the inquisitor could be Barriss, it’s not Starkiller, wouldn’t work in canon, and Ahsoka and Luke would both be toast, and it’s not Ezra, cause Thrawn is still trapped in the new beyond. Also, Dave said in the rebels recon behind the scenes show, that Ezra and Sabine’s relationship isn’t romantic in any way, so 100% confirmed there’s nothing there.

      The final Rebels scene happens at the end of Ahsoka Ep. 2. We are seeing the in between that happened "off camera" during Rebels until they head out to look for Ezra. Time has passed since Hera's son is def at least a couple of years old during the Rebels epilogue.

      Sadly, that era of the books aren't canon any longer, not since Disney took over. But FIloni has been seeding things back in, and Thrawn is very much a part of that, to the point where Zahn wrote a NEW Thrawn trilogy to fit him into new canon. It's not quite the same, but it's better than nothing :)

    Guys, remember some time had passed since Ezra and Thrawn went to the outer reaches and when Ahsoka "The White" came to get Sabine to find Ezra. Hera was in the Ghost with her and Kanan's son, Jacen, and he wasn't a toddler then! I think Ahsoka started training Sabine not long after Kanan died and then they parted ways for some reason which is why they both seem a little distant upon meeting again.

    HOLY FREAKING CRAP, THESE TWO EPISODES FELT LIKE A FULL LENGTH THEATRICAL MOVIE!
    If it wasn’t evident before, these 2 episodes prove that Dave Filoni is the true apprentice and successor of George Lucas. His eye for the details of the same classic samurai films that inspired Lucas is all over this show. What’s really surprising is that these episodes are made in a way that even people who didn’t see Rebels can get into this show without being lost, while hardcore fans like myself who watched it from day one are well and truly rewarded for watching it from beginning to end.
    I especially love the actresses for Ahsoka, Sabine and Hera! And I love that Clancy Brown got to play the same character he voiced in Rebels.
    And Ray Stevenson as always was perfect, Rest In Peace Ray, we will never forget you!

    Oh man I LOVED the down time moments in Andor it felt like a Star Wars novel come to life where we see the in-between moments. It showcased the average life of someone in the Star Wars galaxy and for me that elevates the magical, force side of Star Wars. So when you contrast it with the grounded street level stuff you get to see how magical the Star Wars galaxy actually is in the eyes of an everyday person. It's like the comic book "Marvels" where we see through the eyes of a reporter looking up at the hero's of the Marvel universe, instead of seeing through the eyes of the hero's we're seeing through the eyes of the everyday person and that to me makes the force more powerful and magical.
    I agree it's not for everyone and show's like Bad Batch even had episodes like the The Outpost in Season 2 which felt very Andor but still remained a more welcoming pace for fans who prefer faster moving shows. I'm one of those people who could watch Star Wars characters walking around a retro futuristic office building talking about the sports of Star Wars and if the writing is great I'd eat that right up.
    So far I love Ahsoka it feels like a mix of Rebels and Clone Wars with the slowness and grittiness of Rogue One and Andor. The Art Style pulls heavily from Ralph McQuarrie's work, as did rebels so it has a very retro Star Wars look and feel and that's something I adore. The future episodes will speed up no doubt but I hope they go all Andor with Thrawn, give me scenes of him just speaking on a bridge with random people or him just overlooking his art work and speaking about it. The tone of Andor is perfect for a character like Thrawn and that's the same tone I felt when reading Heir to the Empire.

    Ten years in-universe separate the last episode of "Rebels" and the first episode of "Ahsoka." Sabine is around 30 years old, here, and has a lot more history and "milage" on her now than when we last saw her. Presumably, a LOT has happened to her, and between her and Ahsoka, that we didn't see, and don't know about.

    • @andmicbro1
      @andmicbro1 Рік тому

      Ashoka isn’t a dark Jedi. Dark Jedi are Jedi who use the dark side of the force. They aren’t “Sith” in the traditional sense. The don’t follow the rule of two. They don’t follow sith teachings. But they do draw on the dark side. Baylan seems like a dark Jedi. He uses the dark side and craves power. Yet he follows Jedi tradition otherwise. Ashoka is more a gray Jedi (which is controversial, some people claim there’s no such thing). Gray Jedi are jedi in the middle. They seek absolute balance in the force, dark and light. They are the true neutral force users. Which Ashoka participating in the rebellion as a leader near the beginning seems to be more of a neutral good alignment if anything. But that could still put her closer to Gray Jedi than not since true balance would fight against the Empire too.

    (It’s Dr. Taub from House… among lots of other things; Peter Jacobson. Monk was Tony Shaloub, most recently in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.)

    I agree. Ahsoka is too stoic and serious. I mean, trauma, I get it but in Rebels there was a warmth about her.

    Man, weird when people have a completely different opinion on something, but that's Star Wars for you. All I'll say is that it's refreshing for me to see things take their time, and have everything breath and take their time. Andor and, so far, Asohka seems to be going on a more cinematic path. Hopefully this series hits the mark!

    Barriss couldn't be the Inquisitor.
    If she were in the Inquisition, Vader would have killed her.
    Her personality wouldn't allow for such an alliance. She was willing to die for the greater good; I truly don't believe she would join murderers.
    And why would she hunt for Ahsoka?
    Howewer
    We got a name - Marrok.
    Marrok is a reference to Arthurian legends. An honorable knight with that name was transformed into a wolf/hunter by a witch named Morgan (another reference). I don't believe in such a coincidence. Morgan Elsbeh might have an influence on him or will do something to him or might have already done something to him.
    It's even possible to replace Elsbeh with Sidious and Sith magic.
    In this case, Barriss fits into this theory but not only Barriss.
    My theory is more about potential connection between Marrok and Morgan Elsbeh.

    Baylan & Shin are the total badass and I really find them interesting. I bet Shin is the daughter of Baylan. One thing I hated was the nerfing of the lightsabers

  • @donaldwatson7698
    @donaldwatson7698 Рік тому

    Two things: (1) Others elsewhere figured out that the villain names are all tied to stories of wolves, Dave Filoni's favorite animals. Skoll and Hati (Baylan & Shin's last names) are wolves from Scandinavian tales. Skoll chased the sun and Hati chased the moon. Marrok (the Inquisitor) comes from Sir Marrok, a knight from Arthurian legend. He was enchanted and turned into a wolf by sorceress Morgan Le Fey. Marrok the inquisitor serves Morgan. (2) I suspect the last mural scene is a parallel to the last scene in Rebels. Ahsoka does not have her staff (which she tapped with authority) and others have noted her robe is more of a gray here than white. The color could just be the difference between animation and live action, but that staff would be an important element to leave out. If they are two parallel events, I'd guess that the first (animation) was a new master calling her padawan to her side (possibly for an initial search), and the second is, of course, the actual pursuit of Ezra.

    First thought I had about this? CAT! I love Sabine's cat! I love that it's voice is obviously a real cat that got recorded. It gives me feels like Omega, because she has an authentic Kiwi accent, and this loth-cat has a real cat voice.
    Second, Baylan feels like he has the Jedi calm, like he is someone who did come from the Temple system. while Shin feels fierce and wild.
    I love that Sabine's mural is part of this, and it is solidly the same picture as the animated show, like the whole art style of _Rebels_ is actually Sabine's art style.
    I feel like Winstead gives me huge Mom vibes in Hera. Maybe Winstead's age helps, 38 is early middle-age, and that face in Hera strikes me as someone who definitely has an adolescent son somewhere in the background (I am still hoping we see Jacen).
    Aside, Skoll and Hati are Norse names for the pair of wolves who chase the Sun and Moon, trying to eat them. I think Baylan and Shin's names were deliberate, but we need to wait and see if they are indicative.
    Ahsoka and Sabine's training seems to be an off-screen thing between the end of _Rebels_ and the start of this. I also think Ahsoka has some attachment trauma, after what happened to Anakin. But everything indicates that Sabine is also very strong-willed, so their separation must have been two-sided.
    I am willing to handwave Sabine's injury as being in the right place, friends got to her quickly and got her to medical treatment quickly, plus this is what, 30-40 years after Qui-Gon?

      From what I understand about Starkiller, aka Galen Marek, having looked into him a little aftre he was mentioned in a fic, he is a game character from the game "Star wars: TheForce Unleashed", where he was Darth Vader's apprentice, but I presume he turned Good, or was never fully Dark. I would guess a lot of the game has to do with him getting away from Vader's control.
      What I do know however is the voice actor who Galen's character model is based on is also the same guy who has done a lot of the voice acting for Darth Maul, through Clone wars, Rebels, and apparently in Solo as well - Sam Witwer. The VA in TPM was someone else.

      Other things I am waiting for is Anakin, hoping we get his ghost, but from the trailer, I think we definitely will get a Clone Wars flashback, and Rex, who I damn-well hope will be present-day Rex.
      Another aside, while looking up what is on Google about Sabine's cat, I saw a mention about Thrawn's actor, Lars Mikkelson, and it led me to somethign I had never looked into, that is he and Mads Mikkelson share a name for good reason, that is they are brothers.

      I think Ahsoka is more "Bubbly" in BoBF because we see her hanging around Luke. Maybe she was in a better mood because she was connecting with Anakin's son in a positive way, so her issues were not up front right then.

      @TheMimiSard Рік тому

      But adding about Rebels exposure, I will admit, I have not watched Rebels, but I have read enough fanfic to get an outline, and I have an idea of how threatening Thrawn is because I did read the original "Heir to the Empire" novels back in my teens.
