    "I've heard that before" was a reference to Luke's "I will not fight you, father"... this was Dave's way of letting the audience know that this was a post Vader redeemed Anakin Skywalker.

      But if Anakin was a embodiment of both the light and the dark side and was able to use that to train his Padwan’s is epic. You choose your path, you can fight for all that’s right on the light side or give in to fear and seduced by the dark side.

    Ahsoka struggled to see Anakin as anything but Vader, just as she struggled to see herself as anything more than a child soldier, resigned to forever bear the burden of failing her master and losing so many. Sabine called out her stoic demeanor - asked her if she was even living anymore. By the end of the vision, she was reminded that Anakin is more than Vader, just as she was more than a fallen Jedi. She had to choose to live, and the renewed energy eventually led her to opening up to the Purgill. This is Star Wars baby

      I have been trying to explain this to those who have said that they are portraying Ahsoka as boring. She is not the brash child padawan or hot-headed teenager. You are also right that she has had that struggle with all the lives lost and being a child soldier. From the Clone Wars to the Rebellion she has known only a warrior's life.
      Her choosing to live was more than just choosing to survive.

    • @TatankaTaylor
      @TatankaTaylor Рік тому +4

      Not quite.
      Ahsoka struggled with the GUILT of leaving Anakin when he was so vulnerable. She blamed herself for Anakin turning to the Darkside.
      Ahsoka also blamed herself for the troops that died under her watch.
      That is why Anakin took her to a mission in early part of the Clone Wars where Ahsoka went against Anakin's orders. As a result, several 501 troopers died. She was traumatized ever since.
      Then she was in the Seige of Mandolore. Where the entire weight of her being responsible for her troops was nearly unbearable.
      Anakin's lesson was to teach Ahsoka to help her kill her inner demons.
      And that included facing Anakin as Vader (that is why she kept seeing him that way).
      Anakin wanted Ahsoka to confront and defeat Vader. To kill one of her biggest inner demons.
      That is why Anakin was happy to see her defeat Vader.
      Because it meant that she was ready to let go of the past and start living.

    • @TheArrowedKnee
      @TheArrowedKnee Рік тому

      This episode addressed a lot of the issues i've had with the live action portrayal of Ahsoka so far. Ahsoka was never this stoic and melancholy, even after learning of Anakin becoming Vader(see Rebels). Of course it makes sense though.
      But this addresses all of that. Essentially Anakin teaches her to forgive herself for leaving the Order, and that she is indeed more than just a soldier going from one mission to the next.

      He was literally the most powerful Jedi to ever exist. Not even Luke was able to get to his level. If he was never burned, and kept all of his limbs, nobody would have been able to stop him. The only reason Obi-Wan bested him was because of Anakin's greed and overconfidence. If he was never burned he 100% would have been able to kill Palpatine and usurp control of The Empire.

      @@flochforster6892 Not just his overconfidence. Obi-Wan *knew* Anakin on a level no one else did. I think Yoda knew that, and knew only Obi-Wan was going to be able to defeat him. That's why he sent Obi-Wan to battle Anakin at Mustafar, despite Obi-Wan's clear attachment to his former Padawan that could potentially get in the way. I think Yoda doubted even he himself could defeat a fallen Anakin Skywalker.

    I'm glad that Hayden got another chance of playing Anakin and getting the love he always deserved to playing him. It always broke my heart to read how people said he was a bad actor, but he was never a bad actor. People just could never open their minds wide enough to see the big picture about Anakin. He went from never knowing greed because he had everything he needed at the time which was love, his mother's love. They took him from that world and told him "you aren't allowed to be attached to anyone." In the books he kept wanting to return to Tatooine to see if his visions about his mother were true or just nightmares, but no one would listen to him. They only called them "dreams." Even Obi-Wan told him "Dreams pass in time." He lost his mother literally in his arms as she tried to tell him "I love you." He didn't want to lose Padme the only other person he truly loved and cared for and because of the fear of losing her, he lost her anyways because his love was distorted into greed. Hayden did amazingly well playing a character that is emotionally tortured and I love that he got a second chance to being Anakin.

    After seeing Ahsoka having a moment of catharsis with her master, and letting go of her guilt and pain to more fully embrace the Light Side, Rosario Dawson now truly has become the Ahsoka we remember from Clone Wars!
    I loved how this episode showed the more of the fact that Ahsoka was sadly both a Jedi AND a child soldier. What’s more is that while while the Jedi were taught to not form attachments to people, she and her master clearly cared for not just their men but their friends and family. And while Anakin failed and fell to the Dark Side because he couldn’t let go of those he loved, Ahsoka succeeded and not only learned to let go and move on, she has now risen and has now become tied with Luke Skywalker for me as the greatest Jedi of life time.
    This is also easily the best performance Hayden has ever given as Anakin, he actually felt more like Anakin from the Clone Wars than the movies. I honestly never thought I would see LIVE ACTION scenes of Clone Wars, or even Hayden in Anakin’s Clone Wars armor!

    So in the first Clone Wars flashback, I noticed it was from the Battle of Teth that was seen in the 2008 Clone Wars movie where Ahsoka made her first ever appearance. The second flashback scene, which I initially thought was the 2nd battle of Geonosis from the Clone Wars show, was actually of the Battle of Ryloth from season 1 as we see several twilek freedom fighters around (also if you look closely, you can see a phase 1 armored Captain Rex). The final flashback/vision was of course the Seige of Mandalore and we see a phase 2 armored Rex and 332nd troopers as well as mandalorian super commandos which was beautifully done.
    Something else I noticed was Anakin using the red lightsaber. I believe this was a direct easer egg to the original ROTS script where the newly christened vader was going to use a red lightsaber during the duel against Obi-Wan on Mustafar. The reason Anakin didnt have a red lightsaber for the Duel on Mustafar was due to the fact that it wouldve been difficult to see because of the lava and such (which was eerily similar to why Luke used a green lightsaber in ROTJ instead of blue, because of the sky in that case). Also i think it was a nod towards the PS2 ROTS game with the alternative ending where Anakin killed Obi-wan and Palpatine.
    Finally, as soon as I saw and knew Jacen using his abilities it made me wonder...what if Ezra comes back and trains him to be a Jedi?

    @Dos Cavazos,
    18:12 Kacee, regular Hyperspace isn't instantaneous, you know? Depending on where they're jumping in the galaxy Star Wars takes place in, it could take them minutes or several hours to get to their destinations.
    Like the whales of our world that migrate from ocean to ocean the planet over, so too do the Purrgil, but from galaxy to galaxy--Ahsoka explained last episode that the Hyperspace lanes were charted by using the routes the Purrgil used, which means for a time they had the technology to follow and keep up with the Purrgil while they traveled within a galaxy.
    The Purrgil likely travel tremendously fast, still their trips aren't going to be instantaneous. I figure we won't see them come out of Hyperspace immediately next week but after a couple minutes of Huyang and Ahsoka talking on their ship. It'll be interesting to see the other galaxy's appearance, but I wouldn't expect too much. We know from Hubble and the James Webb telescope what other galaxies look like now, and they look a lot like the one we live in.

    Ahsoka was under water for hours and she didn't drown?
    THAT is some serious _plot-armor_
    Not surprised, really. Disney can do that and make dumb people believe it's a gOoD episode.

    6:41 the "I've heard that before" is a reference to Luke saying "I will not fight you father" in Return of the Jedi, Ahsoka never said that to him she said she wouldn't leave him again but not I will not fight you.

    I might be wrong, but I feel like after Vader's redemption and death, Anakin's force ghost went on to serve as "the father" to bring balance to the force, I also like to think that this post Vader Anakin pulled ahsoka into the world between worlds just like we've seen before

    I've been assuming that the hyperspace ring is so big so it can dock with Thrawn's Star Destroyer that he was on when he was taken to the other galaxy. Ordinary ships can't make hyperspace jumps between galaxies, but this way it could bring Thrawn back with his ship.

    Their legacy starting with Yoda, then Dooku, Qui Gon, Kenobi, Anakin and Ahsoka brought about death and destruction from each member. All of them had a role to play in destroying the Jedi and allowing the Sith to rule intentional or not.

    Legends canon its six days, RotS its 10 days.

    This was truly anakin and truly not just a dream, anakin was concious of not knowing where a battle was, and also said “I’ve heard that before” in reference to something luke told him, which Ashoka could not have known, and Ashoka did not show up on a radar proving her to not be in that realm and in the real world between worlds

    The reaction to Huyang explaining Jason's abilities to Carson, just "ok". Literally everyone that didn't see Rebels.
    Also the "Mortise arc better then all of the sequel trilogy", true and real, sadly. I love the honesty. Hater's can't be reasoned with. You both always offer a pretty balanced take on character development. The fact Mortis is heavily referenced in this episode reminded me of how great that arc was.

    It wasn't just in her mind if Jacen and Hera Heard the light sabers clashing.. The location that they're at is Probably close to the world between worlds or connected to it somehow.. That's probably why they built that stone Structure.. seeing ezra It's definitely a bigger deal than thrawn for me... Both are welcome Thrawn was cool,, But I have to To see how he's Done in live action , As there is actor who's playing him is Ezra 100% I have no worries there... Even talks and sounds like him same type of demeanor even though the guys close to 30..
