    Its possible that everything perfect about Jon is in this 7 minute clip. The jokes are spot on, but more importantly I believe his disappointment. Thats what's great about him. I can't tell if he's actually furious at him or its all just a joke to seem so enraged about a story that meant nothing. Probably a little of both, but as a moderate fan of football in general, he's so totally right that I think most of it has to be coming from the heart. And he says it with the gravitas that it really makes you think he's like a Cronkite or something for chastising the guy. He's got the career to back him up and make him seem like that one real voice through all the noise that you should actually be listening to. And the reason its PERFECT is the little joke at the end. My two cents anyway.

    I think something really important to remember: deflating footballs is only cheating in theory. There's no precedent of it offering any advantage at all. Especially only half a psi, it would barely be noticeable if at all. So, I must ask, does anyone honestly think a team would cheat in a method that's never been seen to make a difference, with such a small change that it wouldn't be noticeable to anyone, so it would provide even less of a hypothetical advantage?

    Because slightly under inflated balls is how the Patriots beat the Colts 45 to 7. There was absolutely no skill involved at all. If anyone of us had footballs that were only a slightly deflated, we could all be multiple time Super Bowl Champions.

    • @mikestrong325
      @mikestrong325 9 років тому +10

      Both sides use a separate set of balls, you only use your set for offensive plays. In theory under inflation makes it easier to handle and throw and catch. However this whole thing is bullshit, you can mess with the football in any way you want really: use a preferred oil on it, use sand paper to get a specific roughness in a specific area etc. however allegedly removing .5 psi is too far, and gives an unfair advantage

    • @BoneCrusherG1D
      @BoneCrusherG1D 8 років тому +8

      +mikestrong325 If deflating a football .5 psi makes no difference then why do it? It must help somehow or why risk it?

    • @mikestrong325
      @mikestrong325 8 років тому +5

      BoneCrusherG1D Comfort basically, the players like their balls a certain way. So you have some players who sand it in certain areas, or oil it in specific spots. they do all this to make the ball feel right in their hands. In this case apparently he finds it easier to throw a ball that has more give in it. Another play who likes their ball pressure at a specific level is Aaron Rodgers. He stated numerous times that he likes them to be over inflated, as he can throw it harder that way.
      This is why i thought the whole thing was blown out of proportion. You can honestly do so much to the ball to alter it and break it in, that reducing the pressure by a fraction isnt some diabolical scheme.

      ui. Comedy, Quatsch, Vlogs & mehr! Yes, all the balls Brady threw were supplied by the Patriots, while the balls the Andrew Luck threw were supplied by the Colts. The Colts balls met league standards, and 11 of the 12 Patriot balls were under-inflated below league standards.

    • @NotSoKevin1
      @NotSoKevin1 9 років тому +2

      hello, germany! Essentially if the ball has less air in it makes it squishier and easier to catch. Like if you deflated a (european) football it would get squishy.So if you deflate it you get an advantage because your receiver can catch it easier.
      Also it's still football because you use your feet to run the ball atleast in my book. Hopefully this helped a little. I'm from the UK and i watch American sports because i find them more interesting than grown men flopping around a pitch. :P

    Ya know what really pisses my off about deflategate, the part where I just can not get my head around.
    Tom Brady is REALLY good at his job. He doesn't need to cheat to win, yet, he at the very least turned a blind eye and went along with it. All that talent and skill, and he still felt the need to cheat. Sure he did better in the second half with regulation pressure balls, but that doesn't absolve him of his crime.

      +Lunar Templar There is actually no evidence (and there is a lot of evidence) showing that TB knew jack all about deflated balls...and then he won in court cause the NFL's cause was garbage...so can people relax, its not a big deal EITHER WAY and right now it seems like he really did do nothing so get over it.

    • @andan04
      @andan04 8 років тому +2

      Yep, that's how it works. The act of attempting to gain an unfair and dishonest advantage in athletic competition is not cheating if it doesn't account for the difference in the contest's outcome. Similarly, if a would-be thief pulls a gun on a cashier in the attempt to steal money from the register, there's no crime if the register was empty.

    • @TheKYLEdavid
      @TheKYLEdavid 8 років тому +3

      Not really.
      If I broke 1 leg of each of my opponents before a track meet, I would probably complete the race in less than 1% of the time it would take second place to complete it.
      By your logic, I would've won anyways even if all of my opponents had 2 operating legs, just because the margin of victory was so large when I cheated.
