  • The Greatest Dynasty in NFL History was formed in New England. Led by the Greatest QB and Head Coach of all time. Brady and Belichick's rule would last for nearly 20 years; however, dynasties are rarely formed with clean hands.

It was actually kind of funny in that wild card game when the Tennessee Titans ended the dynasty coach Mike Vrabel who used to play for Bill Belichick used the same delay-of-game punt trick a couple times to run like 3 or 4 minutes off the clock and the loophole is closed the next year. 😆 When coach Vrabs used Bill Belichick's trick against him he was so f****** pissed on the sidelines cussing and freaking out it was hilarious. 🤣

It was not illegal to tape defensive signals. Everyone in the league did it. What WAS illegal was doing it from the sidelines, which in itself was a recent change. Bill thought the rule was stupid, and continued to tape from the sideline, even though Mangini warned him not to. Robert Kraft said it best: "Bill, did you know it was illegal to tape from the sideline?" "Yes I did." "Well, then, you're a putz."

There is no doubt the talent was there. But the fact this much cheating was swept under the rug is ridiculous. They treated it like nothing happened, so it probably kept going. And the fact it's rarely talked about is part of the cover up too. Craft used a lot of his power to keep things going.
They even sat there and labeled the Super Bowl after Brady's suspension "Brady's revenge against the NFL".

It’s hard to imagine that the NFL might be as corrupt as FIFA, but there’s no reason to think they aren’t. With big wagers riding on games now, the stakes have been jacked up, and I think we know how that plays out. Think Black Sox. The Pats seem to be getting kid glove treatment in spite of the scandals, and that might have something to do with Kraft’s stature in the league. The NFL is, after all not a public service. He knew every coach's scheme from his generation. When they fined him, he'd already known everyone's plays on specific downs. The NFL would bounce coaches around, and he had already known their game plans, down and distanced plays for years and years. And when you have the game's greatest game manager it equaled quick success. Now the NFL has younger coaches, he's got a new quarterback, and everyone is more than aware of the dude's cheating. He went right back to being the 9-7 Cleveland Browns he was prior to joining the Pats.

I don't think you can be called the greatest coach of all time when you've done things like this to disrespect the other coaches from his generation. I don't think those coaches would call him the greatest. In some way, it was clever, and you have to admire the genius in finding loop holes within the game to press the boundaries of cheating. It's like admiring a 21 year old counting cards at the Casino, not everyone can do it so there's something to be said for that. But in regards to Belichek it seems clear that he's tried to weed people out to take the overall credit for the teams overall success, and he got away with it until now. That’s why the harsh punishment for the Patriots, because Goodell told everyone to stop doing it yet they pretty much stuck their tongue at the league.
