Actually, yes, America kind of owns the ocean. A friend of mine had visited the US to buy a boat, with which he had then planned to sail through the Carribean and back to Europe. His first stop WOULD have been Cuba. He was literally stopped by American Patrol boats when he had Havanna in sight. I was supposed to meet him in Havanna to join his sailing tour and I had already gotten the message that he could see Havanna..... followed by 3 days of silence and eventually the message that the US coast guard had stopped them right in front of Cuban waters to escort them back to Florida. Here is the thing. By international law, that does count as piratery. Countries only have control over the 12 mile zone, which for the US, definitely does not extent until Cuba's 12 mile zone. Then again, the US is unfortunately not exactly known to follow international laws and regulations.

Get a fucking life, will you?!!! Carribean=salt water..... Besides, it might be their backyard, but it is still illegal by law. What would people do if Germany just decided to send their Bundeswehr all over Poland and act according to their own rules there?
yakumo961 Well, given the world's prejudice towards Germany, there'd be that thing we had a couple of times now. Those with power make the rules. It's just our misfortune that that power resides in the hands of the morally bankrupt. But my point was (and is) that the US doesn't 'own 70% of the Earth's surface'. That's just daft.
Get a fucking life, will you?!!! Correct answer. Everything, at least it seems that way, is a function of power. I do not know what prejudice against Germany you are talking about. USA has overthrown more democracies post WWII than any other nation, and has armed and bankrolled more gangsters, drug lords, madmen and mass murderers than any other country in history.

Nah, don't call it that. Here in 'Murica, we prefer the term "defenders of freedom." When we use drones to strike and kill innocent civilians, we're just protecting freedom. When we invade other countries with no clear reason and destabilize them to the point where an extremist group can sweep in and occupy half of that country once we leave, we're protecting freedom. When we insist on having our military in every goddamn corner of the globe (with many of our servicemen misbehaving in unethical and often criminal ways), we're simply there to protect your freedom. You should be grateful that we in 'Murica do so much to keep you free =)

"What are we the spanish armada?" As an historian, it gets me everytime.
@@Peter-ff1tp English is not my first language. UA-cam is available worldwide, my friend.
“A hot cup of shut the fuck up” gets me every damn time.
Well that is so on the nose it makes me want to cry.
I love you and miss you. Please come back. You have a duty to speak up. You're like bernie but more energetic.
Comedians should run this country
+Joshua Chavez they try
oh lol
I truly agree with you
it's always easier to sit and mock others when you yourself aren't making the decisions
#Colbert&StewartForPresident
I will forever miss the Lindsay Graham impressions x'D
Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit drinking White-Out.
😂
Getting the word out!!
"That's the kind of goodness baked into the US Constitution. To make peace, two thirds of the Senate need to come along. You want to make war though? Simple majority." -- Jon Stewart
Yeah this one time I held a door open for an old woman, the unintended consequence was she said "thank you".
man i missed this dude
leonardimas1 yup he's one of the best comedian in US that's for sure
The Graham impersonation was amazing
John’s Lindsey graham is criminally underrated
I fucking love Jon's Lindsey Graham impression. It sounds like a southern belle.
"Oh, Lordy, I think I'm getting a case o' the vapors!"
Jon Stewart primed me and probably a lot of us for Bernie Sanders with segments like this.
MURICA - We wanna Luv, But We Only Know how to hurt"
Best line!
OMG, i just love it when he does Senator Graham's impression. It is a classic and well-deserved. Senator Graham is one of the most corrupt politicians out there.
Its eerie how relevant this is today almost 5 years later. Its scary actually....
Jon Stewart was the Prince of Prescience.
His trainees have gone forth to carry on his tradition of smart, incisive commentary: John Oliver, Samantha Bee, Stephen Colbert, Jordan Klepper, Trevor Noah, Hasan Minhaj... thank you Jon. You are missed.
I've never missed Jon more...
This aged well...
A world without Jon Stewart is a world without sanity.
The USA act like some sort of super villain. Against everything that is good for Humanity, ready to blow shit up every seconds.
'Murrika.
You should be grateful that we in 'Murica do so much to keep you free =)
lol
+ZhangtheGreat ok something is very wrong here!! mind playin tricks on me?
There will never be anyone quite like Jon Stewart
ILove Grande` She wanted to build a no fly zone in Syria, which most likely lead to war with Syria and Russia.
5 years latter.... and wow.
We need you back NOW Jon!
This is really ironic now considering we're the ones who broke the deal XD
Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant
Watching in 2019. We’ve just fallen so far backward. If we only knew the what the future holds.
Jon Stewart is the Avatar, when the world thought they needed him most he vanished, but he has returned when we truly need his help.
I don't think any of the politicians really know what they're saying from one moment to the next or from one interview to the next....
+Dave Dreyer (unclejedimaster) They don't need to. They're in districts and/or states where their seats are completely safe. The only way they stand a chance at losing their seat is if they face a significant challenge in the primaries, and that almost never happens.
Love, love, love Jon Stewart
"We don't trust the government of Iran..." Guess who has the crazy government now😂😂😂
So very insightful going back to hear we were thinking about then.
Remember when the Daily Show wasn't afraid to be anti-war?
I miiiiiiiiiss you soooo much!
This hurts to watch now
"A hot cup of shut the f*ck up". Now why am I only hearing that phrase for the first time? The southern accent makes it so much better.
Jon Stewart was the last anti-war TV personality.
Edward : we want love but we only know how to heart .
nicely said .
It's will be quite unfortunate when Mr JS moves on from TDS.
He's the only American comedian I can actually stand
Lennie Godber Don't forget John Oliver!
***** John Oliver is actually British :)
Lina Lafif I'll just leave this here: "It was very, very difficult to get that green card, It was an incredible painful, traumatic experience. And if it was that
difficult for someone like me, then you know the immigration system is ridiculous in this country." - John Oliver
Lennie Godber Try Doug Stanhope.
Vyctor_ Bad idea. Stanhope really really really really wants to be the new Bill Hicks. Unfortunately he lacks both the wit and the vision.
America : *WAR WAR WAR WAR...*
really miss jon, trevor is always so subdued and philosophical. i want it raw and harsh
Great stuff!!
Omg, I clicked only because I thought it said Star Wars, lol
Dante Da Vinci go back to your star wars kid.
+Dante Da Vinci I clicked because it was said Jon Stewart. What a coincidence!
+Dante Da Vinci I hope you enjoyed it though
princesslibra20 I actually did, guy is funny.
Dante Da Vinci You learn a lot about the true face of politics too. I also discovered him by accident 2 or so years ago. This is great past time for me.
Someone give this guy a metal !!!! Jon you are truly amazing man. You always told the truth about the kind of bullshit going on in the world and with that also provided hell of entertainment.
I miss John Stewart so much...
Magnificent! News/comedy/television. Hope the new one has Stewart like smarts. He makes the sad bad stuff funny, imagine having to make it funny, for 16ish years. Enjoy the Elves John. But Please come back to us. STANDING OVATION for Mr John Stewart....huzzah huzzah huzzah.!.!.! Ok standing ovation with applause in rigging tricky. Salute JS.
"what are we? The Spanish Armada?".................. lol
Oh john stewart bro... We miss you!
Just keeping this in mind anytime the US turns around and says “why aren’t other countries stepping up militarily!”
Nothing ever changes.
Timely recommendation, UA-cam!
After seeing the StarT Wars graphic, I'd love to be part of the group that comes up with the ideas for these comedic political talk shows.
I mean, I like Trevor. He's good at what he does. But I watch this and I'm like FUUUUUUUUUUCK... it was SOO much better with John Stewart. 😓😓😓
It makes me very sad to see so much undone in such a short time.
Well, at least we know that the USA's policy of "bomb first, negotiate later" isn't new.
The best ever..this guy.
