I have a pleco in my 60 gallon, not sure what kind. It’s about 3 or 4 inches, I have had it for years and am lucky if I see it once every 6 months 🤷🏻♂️
Yup, that is how they can be.
Why do you have a fork in each tank?
The iron helps with water parameters.
The Fluval Bug Bites bottom feeder formula is fantastic too. My BN plecos, banjo cats, corydoras, and flying foxes all love it.
I’ve tried them. Not worth the money to me.
@@MichaelsFishRoom It is definitely pricey. I never buy it full price. I have Petco price match it to their online price when I buy it.
Still better options.
Can we put two plecos in one tank?
What size tank
Hey Michael, How long approximately do Super Red Plecos have to be before they will breed? I have 2 that are just under 2", thanks
About that. Are you sure you have a pair and what are you reeding?
Sorry Michael I messed this question up. They are albinos (really dark gold) One has long bristles and one doesn't have any. I do have a cave in the tank but they do not seem interested. I have had them 3 months So maybe they are 6 months old? I have been feeding green beans and cucumber. Thank you .
You have about another 6 months to go
Our Percy Pleco just got a treat. He was on fresh blanched green beans like flies on poop! He's about 8 inches now.
Cool!
mines is laying sideways but alive. one died the other day but what can i do, i had him/her 3 years, chiclids are fine
What is?
@@MichaelsFishRoom my pleco, (the title)
Water parameters? Tank size? Tank inhabitants? Need details.
@@MichaelsFishRoom 50 gallon, one died the other day while i was out of town so im not sure if thats the cause, 6 african cichlids, one looks like a giant goldfish but its a cichlid. waiting for new strips to come from Amazon so I don't know parameters yet.
Hey bud, Does it have to be sea salt or can it be regular canned green beans?
I like the French cut the best.
Thank you for this helpful tips and aquarium co-op. Why do you have forks in the tank?
It adds trace elements to the water.
I use forks to make their zucchini sink..
Do they have to be sea salt green beans or can I just use regular? I have a Pleco, and he’s like 12 years old.. 🤯🤯 and I had NO CLUE he could have my favorite food.. so let me know please and thanks a million! 🙏🏻
Any kind will work, but French cut (with or without sea salt) will work.
Michael's Fish Room Oh my goodness thank you so so much! French cut are one of my favorite, I just didn’t know if they had to have sea salt or not, because I have just regular. Lol. Thank You again!
I was hoping you’d tell more about plecos. I have 6 tanks. My red BN only survive in store bought Poland springs water.
My brown BN in another tank doing great in my tap water ( well water).
I have one tank that is a pleco killer. I keep trying to put them there lots of algae to start on plus wafers and vegetables but in that tank they die! What’s up with that?
Plecos are in my top 5 fish I love.
Water parameters?
What does it mean if it’s belly is inverted “plecos”
It’s sick.
How do I fix it
You know you can also consume those instead of tossing them and are delicious when properly prepared.
I only eat fresh with some olive oil and garlic.
at the beginning, you said that you don’t go though the beans before they go bad...you could put half in a ziplock bag and freeze them and then just thaw what you need so you’re using all of it...i do that with the veggies i feed my freshwater fish
Thanks! This is an old video. If I found a big can of French cut like that, I would 100% go through them.
Liked your video, very informative about feeding plecos. I want to get one for my new tank. Just subscribed to your channel. Thanks!
Thanks!
What's with the forks? And wish I could make it to keystone clash I'm about 45 mins from it but I'm on call next weekend :(
It this weekend! I put cucumber in them
@@MichaelsFishRoom yea that's what I meant really wish I could go but what's the reasoning to keep them from floating?
Yes! Maybe next year!
Hope so I'm kinda triangles between you king and queen and ms jinks
Lol
how often do you feed them
Twice a day. You?
Me too
Can I feed my fish some to gold fish
What?
Why is there forks in all the tanks
Whose tanks?
lol You are naturally funny michael!
Thanks!
You could try to vacuum seal in bags what's left over, they'll last for months.
Thanks! Great idea
I rescued two common plecos from a coworker who had them in a 20-gallon tank... For some reason, they have ignored my rapashy, peeled pees, cucumber, etc. because he only fed them fish flakes (ugh)... But they do seem to be active and happy and loving the larger tank I have them in! I have hope they will begin eating soon! Yes, I know they're nocturnal. Great vid! *EDIT: Will try green beans!*
Make sure they are French cut!
Frozen Italian cut green beans are also my 17 year old Paco's favourite food.
Nice! Do you have defrost them first?
Also I just tried the green beans and as usual the koi just devoured it and the pleco just swims around. Think he will be okay?
Should be fine.
I'm sure you have a reason and I'm really interested in finding out. What's up with all the forks in tanks? I'm assuming you have a reason other than a strange sense of decor haha.
It makes the water harder. LOL no, I am lazy and didn't remove them when feeding cucumber.
@@MichaelsFishRoom I knew there was any easy explanation. Lovin the channel
@@stevecox8066 Thanks!
Oh! And XtReme has sinking pellets that all my bottom feeders are obsessed with. The "scrapers". If u havent seen those yet! The guys with the awesome fish farm created them. Dang I can't remember where they are now. I saved their video somewhere lol. They're somewhere warm.
I think the company changed hands and the ingredients are not the same as they used to be.
@@MichaelsFishRoom really!! Dang. I was told the food was researched to be the best. And, so happened my lfs started carrying it. (That's what the store owner said who is a marine biologist. So I wonder....) What do u think about hikari algae wafers for plecos? Because I have those already also. But, I'm happy to try varieties of foods! Thank you!
@@kealeegiese94 there are much better options.
You’ve got a nice collection of plecos. I like to feed mine a diverse diet (same with all my fish)
Like what FFF?
Cucumbers is their favourite. I also feed them frozen blood worms, zucchini, omnivores pellets and algae wafers
Is it a algae fish
What is?
Mango. My plec loves mango. Makes the water messy though so don't leave it in.
🤔 interesting......
Can someone check out my pleco eggs to see if theyare fertile
Nope
Michael's Fish Room very savage, i was just looking for help asshole
Michael's Fish Room thankfully i got it because a majority of people aren’t like you
Fish Nstuff and the snowflake is now a puddle🤣🤣🤣❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️
But seriously, were you soaking my channel for views?
Michael's Fish Room i just needed help it is a 30sec video. I dont understand why people have to be like this. Also your channel is dead i just need to find a pleco related video
Haha my albino bristle nose just had babies i had no idea they where in there until i seen what i thought was a baby snail but was moving way to fast...my female was "bloated" so i fasted her for 2 days and her stomach went back down i was like ok cool she pooped ..nope she was pregnant lol
LOL "Cool she pooped"
I prefer french cut for fry... easier for them to rasp on as fry!
Yup. If you watch most of my videos, that is what I usually feed.
I use the same. Works great. Stand by...
Lol
Lol but excuse me but I am sitting
No, must stand.
Do have any Male Albino Bristlenose to sell. I have a long fin Albino Female I’d like to breed.
I have regular fin. They will be going on the website next week. Email me if you want one.
Michael's Fish Room, I will do that. I'll have ti get your email address. Thanks.
Recently new sub to the channel, love the content! Quick question are you from PA or just traveling to the keystone clash?? Was wondering because I'm from PA myself.
NJ....but I’ll be there! Will you?
Why is there a fork in the first tank u showed
The metal increases the hardness in the water......LOL
I left in there after feeding cucumber.
