    Thanks. Amazing these can grow 2 feet long in a large tank. The lady at the pet store said if the tank is too small, their organs keep growing but their bodies don't, and that can cause death too.

      Fish’s organs don’t keep growing either, they be stunted a little due to awful conditions, but a fish will grow as big as they should if the water is clean and parameters are good even in a tiny tank, but nobody should ever do this

    Great video.... valuable information bro!!!! I swear by waterchanges and clean water being key although keeping your tank with ecosystem in mind no matter how hard you try it's still a glass box at the end of the day and regular testing of your water even if it's a dip strip along with regular water changes when needed is going to give you the best success and heathier fish!!! And never get your info from one place always research and read from lots of places and sites , our hobby is littered with garbage care tips from the good to the outright incompetent

    You are so right! Everyone needs to test their own water before deciding what fish they want to keep and on what substrate! The only exception is if you are using remineralized RO… which is another level of fish keeping!

    I clean my tank to well and I didn’t feed my Pleco for 3 days, and he killed 3 of my small gold fish, I think because my tank didn’t have algae and it was a very small tank. Plecos need wood so Algae can grow there. They clean tanks but they created more dirt .

    • @voidjavelin23
      @voidjavelin23 2 роки тому

      U should eat them algae wafers or cucumber

    • @kimrizzo7098
      @kimrizzo7098 Рік тому

      They also file their teeth on wood and like to chill in the current by gripping wood or rocks. They also need more space for air as they are surface breeders. I would lower that waterline a few inches tbh. They have high bioloads so an overstocked tank needs higher capacity filtration if you don't have as much maintenance time. I have no idea why people like to significantly lower pH when stable is more important. Lower pH is easier regulated with tannins and it helps stabilize the cycle and pH. Just my own experience. :)

    probably fluctuations in water parameters because of the lack of a natural buffer system, caused by
    - a to small volume of water
    - an undersized filter
