    I trick i figured out for wide vocal chops that could be layered with saw chords or a pad is that once you creat your vocal chop and pitched it drown it in reverb and then add a lfo and it creates its own sort of pad or synth sound

    Alex, Thank you sir. I appreciate the detail you put in these tutorials. You are taking me to the next level in my production dream and closer to correcting a failed career direction of others suggested for me.
    Question: Do you have a tutorial on how to collaborate with co-producers remotely, while utilizing 2 different DAWs?

    • @AlexRome

    Good stuff. I’ve been digging vocal chops for so long. It can be really good in psytrance.
    I’ve got a question: I’m also into „lagging“ sound, kind of how Flume sounded a few years ago. Do you know if that technique has a name? It’s like a sustained tone or chord where percussion or other sounds are added near the end of each „section“

    • @planetkyanite
      @planetkyanite 11 місяців тому

      interesting, something like a reverse chord swell with percussion at the end to sound like everything is backwards? not sure if that has a specific name

    Some of these "Skrillex" sounds were alrady a thing in Future and Bass House for nearly 7 years aand some time before that in Dubstep. Maybe he influenced the sound before that but they dont necessarily sound exclusive to Sonny. He apperds to be a great sound engineer though. His vocal chop is next level.

    That drum layers is what I need to know. So, you just layout all the layers throughout the song? Or you bounce it into one track?

    • @psychoticchemist
      @psychoticchemist 11 місяців тому +3

      I personally keep them separate and layout the layers throughout the track. That way I can remove elements as needed in lower energy parts of the song and that kind of thing. Gives you more control.

    I asked Chatgpt why his productions are so good and this is what it said: “Keep in mind that Skrillex productions often involve a team of engineers, sound designers and other professionals all working together to create a final product.” But keep lying to yourselves, everyone does it except those who understand that he isn’t completely alone doing everything himself.

    • @AlexRome
      @AlexRome  11 місяців тому +12

      He has a team of engineers of course. I I do believe he is heavily involved in the creation of his music though. I believe but can’t prove that he has engineers and people to help guide him, however, he writes most of what we hear. Typically it’ll be the more mainstream acts that have teams of producers and engineers doing all the work like Zedd or David Guetta. More underground artists who seemingly preserve the uniqueness within their sound (and don’t go mainstream) I believe to be more authentic.
