I loved the budding stage! You can see it traveling the length of the loc until it's a little knot that detaches from the end, so cute! That was many many years ago. She's fully mature and probably a couple of feet long now. Watching each stage was such a joy to me. I was fully committed to the process of locing and was willing to go through it. You have to love your hair and what she's doing from start to end. Please quit yearning for length! It will come! Just keep her clean and healthy and moisturized and she will love you for the love you show her.
Young lady, this is the best video about locs, I have ever seen in my 22 years of being locked. Excellent. Well done. Outstanding. I’m applauding, giving you a standing ovation, and bringing you flowers to the stage!!!!! I’m subscribing. How lucky was I to be scrolling??? God bless, sis. Where are you located?
Patience is a virtue with this process. My stylist said a year or more with my texture. I’m still learning what works for me. I’m excited to try rose water 😊😎!
I started with two strand twist! Now I’m almost 4 years locd. Your channel is so inspirational. I started to film my loc journey as well! Love your videos! Keep them coming 🙌🏽
I am one of the ones that think my hair is supposed to be loc'd like now😫....but I've decided to comb them out and start again with 2 strands due to my fine hair texture...tha me for breaking down the phases and NOW I understand..3rd times the charm!
I’m about to start the process after being natural for 7 years. This was very informative. My mom who started her own locs are starting mines and I’m ready to start.
Thanks for this vid!!! I remember going through all of those stages but I had no idea what was happening. I learned that texture matters so much. My husband's hair loc'd so much faster than mine. And I had way more frizz. But patience paid off and I loved them!!! I had them for over ten years, but had to cut them due to health reasons. Five years later, I'm ready to start them again. But, I'm not looking forward to that first year of looking "crazy"!!!
I am going into my 4 week of starter Locs and I’m enjoying the process and progress. But I’m so happy this video showed up in my que to must watch. You explained what I can expect in weeks, months, and years ahead. Thank you for breaking all this down so well for me so I won’t freak out when I see these things start to happen. I love you and your family’s Locs. And I’ve just become a new subscriber to your channel.🤗
I’d been natural for at least 3 yrs, then done the dreaded relax, then dyed two weeks later. That was feb 19, by May 19 I chopped it off & started to try to locs up, I just grabbed what I could initially & and left it in till 12 weeks, I saw some good growth so decided to contour my journey went all out got the hair gel and everything. This video has given me the best hair inspiration I’ve ever had. Thank you🙏🏾
Thank you for thoroughly explaining the loc process I just started my locs two months ago and the fizz and unraveling had me worried but now I understand it’s part of the process
I started my locs four different times because each time I was never satisfied with the coil pattern. I'm a perfectionist but came to realize my locs won't be perfect so leaving good enough alone I finally started them for the fourth & final time
Thank youuuuu so much. I kept hearing about ugly phase and it lightweight scared me, but now I can just use your five terms... I appreciate your chill flow of the video, very easing to my nervousness about starting my journey. I'm almost ready to begin. 😀
I like this video and how you explained everything. When I started I had medium long hair. When I used the two strand method, my hair shrunk! I felt bald headed, moving forward around my 5th month of my process, I began to notice my length. As of right now I’m almost locked for a year and I noticed that I have not seen any new growth unless I put my hair up into a ponytail. But regardless of all that I’m glad I locked my hair and I wish I did it sooner but the important thing is I’ve done it.
This video really made me understand the process and now I understand and know more of what to expect and what to look forward too .. day 3 of my comb twist journey
I'm glad I watched this video. This is my second set in which I started myself, and I was worried that I'd done something wrong. But this video has reassured me that I need to trust the process, and my hair is somehow remembering because my hair is progressing faster than my first set.
FYI You are soooo pretty & I loveeeee your eyes 😍😍 ... but let's not forget the amazing work you do on these locs 🙌🏾 !!!! Oh btw, I started with 2 strand twist in Feb of this year & I lovee my locs, just wish I had more hair density.
Thank you for breaking it down in phases including pictures and going into detail I'm trying to begin this journey and discovering not a lot of people are breaking it down into segments as you are
Thank you for this very informational video. I am deployed and I rewisted my hair for the first time. It was so hard to palm roll it and do the back of my head. It took me 5 hours. It didn't come out to bad. Then yesterday I thinking to comb it our and go back to my curls. Then I really didn't want to do that because this is my third time trying the locs. This time I want to stick with it and this has helped me tremendously.
Girl I'm trill about the way you've took your time and patience to talk it through stage by stage with us, I really appreciate you effort. God bless you and I wish you all the best. Regards beautiful Jamaican queen I want to be going to start my locks tomorrow 👌
Thank you ,now I understand. I started my journey November 2021 and only had 1 retwist session ,due to my ignorance of how the process suppose to be ,nothing to do with the loctition..I just didn't know what questions to ask about the process. So my daughter who knows a little something about doing has been doing them for me and everything you just explained is happening. I only wish I didn't get discouraged and stop going for the retwist ,not that my daughter isn't doing a great job bc she is but I wish I would have stuck with the lady that started them..Now my understanding is clearer as to what to expect, I pray that she can continue through my journey..thank you so much..you're an excellent teacher ❤️
I just want to say I'm excited about your new location announcement! Although I live up north I would make that trip. I've watched all your loc extensions video's. Your work is amazing. Many blessings and positive energy to you.
She is the best.. I also love ❤️ her work.. she blessed my hair this past November..So, make sure you make an appointment.. She is amazing 😉 P.s Thanks again, wish I could come to you all the time😔
Thank you for this! I washed and did a retwist last night and i was discouraged by all the frizz! However i love it! My hair is at different stages lol
Thank you!! This video helps a ton, no one has ever mentioned a pre loc stage. I’m at 4 months now, and was nervous bc I felt like my locs should be further along now. But you’ve explained everything so well! I feel like I’m in the pre loc stage.
Interlocking video pleeeeaaassseee!! I started with coils but because of scalp issues and needing more frequent washings I ended up getting interlocked.
I understand both starting locs with long and short hair as I am locking my long hair and my undercut at the same time. And the shrinkage is REAL. I’m my short undercut there’s not much but with my longer hair it almost matches the length of my short hair.
Wow!! Thank you for this. I started my locs with "the big chop" at the end of September and now I know where I am in my journey thanks to you 🖤. I am between stages 4 and 5. I love to play in them, they feel great 😃😄!! I use Carol's Daughter milk pudding and oils.
Glad to know the frizz is normal, I’m about 5 months in I started with a pretty big fro and when I get retwisted they get pretty frizzy about a week later 😅
Thank you so much for this video. I was starting to worry about my hair not locking, shrinking like crazy and mad frizzy ! I have a lot of thin hair and my texture is 4a/4b. I started my journey 4 months ago
Great vid. I think I’m sorta in between the 1st, 2nd and 3rd phase. I started a week ago but she used a hook tool to do a knot at the root for some areas, the rest of the strand is interlocked, like sisterlocks but bigger. I have traditional locs. I started with a nice length of hair, maybe a little past shoulders. Some places are already producing little bulbs, so it’s doing its thing I guess 😂. It’s definitely a process!! Looking forward to it and the final result. My hair needs a lot of moisture so I am constantly hitting with water and various oils until I can go full steam with some heavier products 😂. I’m glad she used a hook tool, I can be a little more handsy 😂. I also use a dry cleanser until I can really wash it like I want. I wouldn’t wait months to wash hair, that’s not necessary 😂 for blacks to do. You can use a stocking cap and wash if you’d like. Drinking a lot of water is important and I’d recommend taking some fish oil as well and of course eating as balanced as you can. One thing is for sure you will get to know you hair!!
I love this video. You really have a way of explaining the stages and supporting it with videos that I understand. I’m at the budding stage which made me so confused about the process
I haven't been doing my hair and its been locking on its own. This happened twice during quarantine, making it harder and harder to detangle...sooo I'm trying to determine if I wanted two strand or finger/comb coiled. I stopped using relaxers 10 years ago. I guess its time for a new hair phase watching all kinds of videos new and old 💜
First glad to see fellow Haitian making things happen on UA-cam your a real inspiration but i have a question i am at month 5 i get them retwisted every two weeks is that bad for my locs at all should i put more space in between the retwist
Thank you for explaining the process. Just got my hair done today and I was wondering why my hair looks so short. But you made me understand the stages that my hair will go through.
Thank you for sharing my locs are 3 weeks old . After your video I’m kind of scare but also confident at the same time. I don’t know how my locks going to turn... it’s a journey we’ll see🤓🤓🤓 and am glad to see you representing Haïti 🇭🇹 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
i started with 2 strand twists 1/1/19 & i already have a lot of budding in the back & in the middle of my head. i think my bang area will like last, because it is a different texture. i'm so excited, it was the best decision that i have ever made. that shrinkage was a beast, my hair was 12 inches when i started & it shrunk up to about 8 inches. the friz doesn't bother me at all
This is the ONLY video on youtube that has left me feeling satisfied on knowing about locks. Now I understand a lot more. THANK YOU
Lil Soldier boy deadass, she explained everything so well
Lil Soldier boy this video is soooo good
Agreed
Couldn't agree more. Many other videos just talk about the "how to" not the technicalities behind the growth. She explains it so well.
Facts. I was worried lol
