In the US it has always been called the 'Fit'. In Europe it is still the Jazz and it is now only available as a hybrid. I own one (2008 model) in SA and a one year old Hybrid in the UK. That is a fantastic car and I get between 4.0 and 4.4 l/100KM. Town or highway makes little difference as the petrol engine (1.5l) always runs at maximum efficiency, in fact driving in town and on country lanes I get the best fuel economy as then the use of the electric motor is optimised. In your review you don't mention if the cruise control is adaptive, if it has lane keeping assist and lane departure warning and a host of other things that my UK model has. Truly a great car. And I agree with the remark about the magic seats, where the seat can be pivoted up providing a huge (and tall!) boot space. Still love my 2008 model in SA too!
In SA, you only get the Honda Safety sense features on the Hybrid model. Theyve positioned the hybrid as the top tier. The highest spec petrol model, the heated leather-seat Executive 1.5 CVT, does not have adaptive cruise, lane keeping, or other "Safety Sense" exclusives. I went to the hardware store and bought long wooden planks stretched from the front dash to the back no problem. With seats folded I can fit two full size bicycles(with front wheels removed) in the back with hatch door closed. I also get 400+miles highway(on eco) in one tank (10.5 gallons). In none eco mode it’s classic Honda peppy and fun to drive. Best all around small car on the market that is super low cost of ownership and will last a long time. If you need a ball gown vehicle then drive a luxury SUV but if you want something more low key but fabulous at what it does then snap one up. It also does not feel cramped inside it feels like a normal sedan(feels like a 90s Honda Accord size inside). Too bad Honda doesn’t send the FIT to the US anymore at least for now but as a result the value of my fit seems to be like a home and just appreciates which is a first for me. In the engine I did add an oil catch can to the PVC intake to keep the intake valves as clean as possible(due to designs of direct injection all manufacturers have suffered). My mechanic however says he hasn’t seen problems in Honda fits non-turbos of the 2015 year anyway but I like to be extra. I’ve also had the oil tested and it’s healthy above average for all remarks including the dreaded oil dilution problem on some direct injection engines with turbos. The 2015+ 1.5 liter non turbos are doing fine according to reports I’ve ran myself so engine will last 300k+ miles.
IT'S BEEN CALLED THE FIT OVERSEAS, ONLY IN RSA WHERE IT WAS CALLED A JAZZ. SWAZILAND, LESOTHO,BOTSWANA HAS THE THE "FIT" FOR YEARS. EVERY CAR ACCIDENT IN THOSE COUNTRIES INVOLVES A HONDA FIT BECAUSE IT'S SUPER QUICK
You left out the fact that Honda makes very well built reliable cars, that's on par almost with Toyota. Once the Jolion has started falling apart and rusting in piece, this little Honda will still be running around like a happy kitten. Honda is a trustworthy brand.
@@rnburley I personally drive a 2001 Nissan Sentra in mint condition mechanically and aesthetically, and I cannot by any stretch of the imagination see Chinese cars hold up like that. I just can't. Hondas, Corollas, and Nissans from before the Renault merger fault are the cars that hold up literally forever, as long as you maintain them, especially the oil change intervals. 😊
Wait and see. The quality of the new Havals are great. I test drove them and they feel more solid than the established mainstream brands who are charging crazy prices for smaller cars with less features and a less quality feel.
@@SDav21 The quality of my new Chinese oven seemed fantastic the day I unpacked, and started using it. What a bargain! Exactly three months after the warranty expired, the "fantastic" little oven also expired. Unfortunately 😅
My guess? This car was/is known as the FIT in at least 1 or 2 markets and Honda decided to " rationalize " the name to all markets. Or...Honda has styled this generation to look like a mini-crossover and as such they wanted a name that implied it was more in the vein of other mini-sized sportish utility vehicles.
One thing that hasn't really changed is the "old people's car" image that surrounded the Jazz. This one is safe, easier to get into than an SUV, quiet and comfortable and not overly flashy. The trend will probably continue
Sadly no, Crossover and SUV is still strong... people are asking why this tiny car (although its spacious compared to some CUV) expensive almost on the same price with CUV??
@@sheilashineleofany822 oh no SUV sales will never take a dip but what will continue is old people buying the Jazz. The price is because the car is very well developed to last.
390k wtf. Agree the Sonet will sell much better. The fit is still an exceptional car though. I remember in my 20's I had a Bantam Bakkie and could not fit a desk on the back but it could fit in the back of a Jazz!
It is sad that we in Southeast Asia don’t get the Jazz/Fit anymore. Honda replaced it with so called City Hatchback (a hatchback version of Honda City), and I think it’s not a compact anymore since it’s around 4.5 meters in length.
Honda has dropped the Jazz-Fit in the US. No Fit for 2021. In other markets the Fit-Jazz is available as a gasoline-electric hybrid only. Same body as the one we see here, but with a battery and electric-motor-generator things. I am happy to see the gasoline motor mated to a CVT is being offered in South Africa, because I like to keep my car for more than 10 years, and I don't like to be forced to replace a battery, after 12-13 years. I'm hoping that maybe we'll see this model in the US. By the way the Jazz-Fit has always been called the "Fit" in the US. Jazz in some countries, Fit in the US. For the United Staters reading this, 7 liters per 100 kilometers translates to 33 miles per gallon.
Honda needs to bring this back to the U.S. They've misjudged the potential of the subcompact market, especially with rising fuel costs. The Crosstar trim would win a portion of the cross-over market. I just need a little more ground clearance, plus AWD and e:HEV. It would be amazing.
Considering the price sensitivity of South African buyers, I'm wondering why Honda SA chose to import the Fit instead of the less-expensive (and imho, more attractive) Honda City from Thailand.
We sincerely hope a Honda fit can be produced in Indonesia or sold to Indonesia. Because the replacement for a Honda fit back in 2019 is now the Honda city hatchback, which I believe is too ugly. Not good
I am straight out going to say I do not like the front-end styling of this car. The Chinese version of the Fit looks 100% better. Other than that, it's a great car and the magic seats get my vote of approval.

Honda is a trustworthy brand.
and the Jolian will have no resale and use nearly twice as much fuel (Thats like R180k's worth over 200k km).
@@rnburley exactly 👍
The WR-V is the Jazz replacement, it shares its platform and engine. The fit is a totally new car.....
The parrot 🦜 joke put me on the floor 🤣 😂
love my 2019 Honda Fit EX
390k wtf. Agree the Sonet will sell much better. The fit is still an exceptional car though. I remember in my 20's I had a Bantam Bakkie and could not fit a desk on the back but it could fit in the back of a Jazz!
Or the Haval even better.
It is sad that we in Southeast Asia don’t get the Jazz/Fit anymore. Honda replaced it with so called City Hatchback (a hatchback version of Honda City), and I think it’s not a compact anymore since it’s around 4.5 meters in length.
I have a 2020 Honda Fit. Here in America they were always called the Fit.
Another fin vid. Great sense of humour.
You should let us know what kind of headlights it has....
It was called the Jazz in Australia. They no longer sell them here as of mid 2021…
More ground clearance, cross star trim, e:hev? You're describing the Honda HRV, which essentially replaced the fit lmao
@@rheumatoidarthiritis9072 The U.S isn't getting the revised HR-V with e:HEV (anytime soon).
Not enough people bought them in the States so it was a commercial decision to pull out of the market.
Don't know why Honda SA haven't gone with JDMs from the start. Blows my mind. We're tired of the Swindon half breed stuff.
No Swindon Honda plant is already closed down
IL buy this car second hand in 6 years for half the price and get another 200 000 km out of it, Hondas never dies
Any update on when the new honda br-v will be coming to SA
Haval Jolion for me definately!!
Same
Can you please do a Video of the 2021 Land Cruiser 200 and Land Cruiser 300
Please can you do a comparison of the Ford ranger 2.2 vs hilux 2.4 vs Isuzu 250 ?
I love this car’s functionality , efficiency and features in this SUV crazy market. It bores me when people compare Golf Gti drive to this model.
Is this Honda Fit model coming to America for the 2022 model? 🇺🇸😊
The rear looks just like the old Opel Meriva.
It has always been call Fit in the US and Canada. Sadly we will not be getting the new Fit here in the States.
I have a 15 plate true auto jazz ,its a great car
That view of the engine...that's not the Hybrid version...that has orange cables each side for the motor connections,
Great review. I'm a fan
Ciro, can you review the Honda Fit Hybrid
Considering the price sensitivity of South African buyers, I'm wondering why Honda SA chose to import the Fit instead of the less-expensive (and imho, more attractive) Honda City from Thailand.
Ciro, how many kilometers can the Honda Fit go on EV mode only
If you did your research you have known it was always called Fit in Japan and most markets and jazz in others.
May you review the Mahinra XUV300 W8 DIESEL 1.5 Turbo - Looks like a very good car
How does the ride and comfort compares to the vw polo 6
So sad they won't be selling the new iteration in the States stopped selling Fits altogether here 😢
Smart little car
For the life of me, I'll never understand why they didn't produce an ALL-ELECTRIC Honda Fit...
Hellow. May I ask?
Are all the cars advertised in ur app legit.
The are no scammers?
I just wanted to be sure coz the is a car we are interested in but when we looked at the background and where the car was packed hayi ngeke awuqini
As a Honda enthusiast I think that all these new models look so disgusting. Honda has lost the key design elements that they once possessed.
I don't know ive been saying Honda are so ugly for years
I always thought Honda E is the new design language of Honda... dissapointed
Yea the old shape jazz was far better ,same with the civic
Honda Fit and Honda Jazz are like twins
The Japanese version was always called the Fit
