Love the second bag, I've thought about making one for some time now, and I always thought crocheted bags need a lining, but wasn't sure how to purchase one in, so I'm glad I found your video. The one difference I would do, is put pockets in the lining before sewing it I'm, and I would use fabric for the straps, OK, that's 2 things. Thank You for sharing your time, and your talent with all of us.
this is actually such a life saver because i'm always stuck having to see my bags age and i feel so bad because it took me so long but NOW it's a whole new story my bags are gonna last wayyy longer thank you so much !!!
I’ve been crocheting and knitting for a long time now. However, just bought my first sewing machine, which is how I found your channel. Your tutorials are amazing! And now I can sew linings to my crochet bags. Any tips for how to add a zipper to crochet bags?
This is a very good tutorial! It was very descriptive. Thank you so much for the effort in making this. I really appreciate it because I learned a lot! The finished projects look beautiful!!!
This was so easy to follow, thank you so much, I've managed to line my bag so easily and I was getting so stressed at trying to figure out how to make the boxed bottom, you made it so simple to follow.
Great tutorial! I have been wanting to line my crochet bag and just didn't or wasn't ready to try and figure it out. Your video was awesome & so helpful!!! thank you
Great video, exactly what I needed. 😊 I’m making a granny square bag in the same shape as yours and was stumped on how to line it. . Thank you so much!
Thank you for this tutorial, I have some bags with that weird shape that I need to put lining in, and I was scared to ruin it, but I’ll follow your instructions and hopefully they will come out nice like yours 😁
I’m completely new to crocheting and sewing. I’m working on my granny square tote now and your instructions have been awesome! What kind of fabric do you use for the lining of the tote?
This was very helpful. Thank you. I’ve just finished my first crochet bag and I’m wondering if you block your crochet bags before you line them? I made mine out of cotton. Thanks for your help!
Super happy to have found this video as I have just finished my oval bag from your granny square bag tutorial!! Your pressing board is SUPER cute! Did you make it?

Have you done a step by step tutorial for the square box one? I'd love you make this please if you have can you share it please? I am new but absolutely love your work❤❤
No, I never pre-wash my fabric unless I’m working with flannel. That shrinks quite a bit so I will usually pre-wash that. But I do not pre-wash anything else
Yes, the lining is 16" x 29" it's at timestamp 1:16 if you want to re-watch. But your measurement might be different if you used a heavier weight yarn or a different size needle, or if your gauge is different than mine. So I would measure your bag like I show in the video to make sure your lining will fit your unique gauge.
My mom would tightly 😢wrap a wool sock around the horizontal section of her sewing machine and stick her pins into it as she removed them from her project. She always had a pin handy when needed and always knew where her pins were. I would love to know where you got that cute padded pressing board?
So, in the video each main panel of the box bag is twelve inches wide and the sides are three inches each. Added, this would be of course fifteen inches but an extra inch is added to the total width of the panel for seam allowance on the corners. This should be able to be applied to centimeters just by adding one or two extra centimeters to the measurement. I hope that made sense?
You never actually say what stitch you use on your machine when sewing the lining to the bag? That’s my only question, I’ve been machine sewing the lining but hand stitching the lining bc I could never figure out what stitch wouldn’t show as much on the bag? Is it a simple straight stitch and u just match your threat as best as possibly to your bag?
EXCELLENT!! Thank you.
And thank you so so so soooo much for not playing background music. ☺️

What fabric did you use to line the bag
I’m completely new to crocheting and sewing. I’m working on my granny square tote now and your instructions have been awesome! What kind of fabric do you use for the lining of the tote?
Very cool!
Thanks! This is really helpful! Is there also a way to add a zipper, specifically to the second bag?
Thank you so much!!
Love this so much!! Do you have any crocheted dishcloth tutorials?
I don't, but I'll add that to the list, they're fun and easy!
Thanks! This is really helpful! Would it be possible to add a zipper too, specifically to a bag with a more triangular shape?
This was very helpful. Thank you. I’ve just finished my first crochet bag and I’m wondering if you block your crochet bags before you line them? I made mine out of cotton. Thanks for your help!
a always block before lining. this ensures a better fit
So, do you use a smaller stitch length when you're sewing thru the yarn?
Super happy to have found this video as I have just finished my oval bag from your granny square bag tutorial!! Your pressing board is SUPER cute! Did you make it?
Do you have a tutorial for the bags? I love them both ❤

Hi, I have that here: ua-cam.com/video/D7x_Hm_bLjM/v-deo.htmlsi=BhGN7l63WfkXad36
What sewing needle did you use?
What about if the bag has a heavier weight yarn though?
Would it still work to sew it?
Thank you!
Gracias
Could you teach us how to put a zipper on? Specially to the boxed type crochet. Thanks!
Amazing tutorial both bags are beautiful & trendy just quick one where can I get the handles of 2tone granny bags ?
They are cocoknits handle kits, you can get them online, I got mine at www.pineycreekyarn.com
GREAT TUTORIAL! i'm gonna try it. maybe a dumb question, but do you pre-wash the bag and the fabric before assembling?
No, I never pre-wash my fabric unless I’m working with flannel. That shrinks quite a bit so I will usually pre-wash that. But I do not pre-wash anything else
Hello super video, I am a beginner.
What pressing board do you have?
I don't have a sewing machine. So how do you sew the fabric into the bag by hand in the other bag and how big is the fabric?
What size needle?
Thank you so much. One question though. What do you set your tension at on your machine?
I usually have it at 2.0 stitch length
@@erica_arndt Thank you! 😊 I was struggling to figure out with thick crocheted fabric and thin cotton muslin what that should be.
hi!! so just wondering, how is the height for the boxed bag 29 inches? I watched the video multiple times but couldn't get understand it
Yes, the lining is 16" x 29" it's at timestamp 1:16 if you want to re-watch. But your measurement might be different if you used a heavier weight yarn or a different size needle, or if your gauge is different than mine. So I would measure your bag like I show in the video to make sure your lining will fit your unique gauge.
Each side is 12" tall, so 24" tall. Plus 1" seam allowance on each side, 2" total. 26". Then the base is 3" so that makes 29". Hope this helps!
My mom would tightly 😢wrap a wool sock around the horizontal section of her sewing machine and stick her pins into it as she removed them from her project. She always had a pin handy when needed and always knew where her pins were.
I would love to know where you got that cute padded pressing board?
I made it! ua-cam.com/video/kIrjAix_6fM/v-deo.html
Can you show how to do that with fabric?
Where did u find your leather handles?
They are CocoKnits Handle kit, I got mine at www.pineycreekyarn.com
Did you double the cotton or is it single
YESSSSSS
Can someone explain this in cm becuase im struggling
So, in the video each main panel of the box bag is twelve inches wide and the sides are three inches each. Added, this would be of course fifteen inches but an extra inch is added to the total width of the panel for seam allowance on the corners.
This should be able to be applied to centimeters just by adding one or two extra centimeters to the measurement.
I hope that made sense?
OMG! Arndt’s are rare! My name is Callie Arndt!
That's awesome!
Width 14 inches
You never actually say what stitch you use on your machine when sewing the lining to the bag? That’s my only question, I’ve been machine sewing the lining but hand stitching the lining bc I could never figure out what stitch wouldn’t show as much on the bag? Is it a simple straight stitch and u just match your threat as best as possibly to your bag?
Oh I'm sorry, I just used a plain straight stitch because that's all my Juki TL2000qi can do :)
Is your measurements mistake I don’t understand your calculation according to your formula 13*3+13 is not 29
What kind of thread are you using?
