Thank you so much! I already had sunflower granny squares that I learned to make recently this month and wanted to make s purse but didn’t know how to put it together so I came on UA-cam and found you! Yay! So I arranged my squares in the same shape and stitched them as you did. Then before putting the actual purse together , I took paper and cut the outline of purse and made a template. Or pattern. So I ordered on JoAnns last night a beautiful sunflower fleece fabric which is mostly golden yellow with outline of slightly darker sunflowers. Now I’m done with the bag and gonna make the handles. I can’t wait to add the beautiful fabric in it! The bag is mostly cream. With mushroom colored centers and golden curry petals. So ,the fabric will pop when it’s opened. 😊 I’m gonna return here to look to how to make your squares and make another bag! Beautiful work!!! 🎉 Thank you , again!
I am so glad I learned how to crochet from you, Erica! I'm 65 years old and just learning to crochet. You made this bad so easy! And I learned to weave my ends in as I go, which saved me hours of procrastination! Thanks so much for your tutorials
I just started crocheting 1 week ago and finished this bag today thanks to your tutorials!! Super simple and easy to follow, and it really is the cutest bag :) Can't wait to make more in different colours for Christmas presents! THANK YOU!!!
I recently picked up knitting and crocheting and was looking for a new project… I came across your tutorial and I’m so glad I did. You’re so clear, thorough, and I love how you provide alternative options of doing things! My bag looks GORGEOUS! Huge thank you for making this video!
I can’t speak highly enough of this video! This was my first big crochet project, and the video was so easy to follow. Bag turned out great, thank you so much!! 🥰🧶
I have just learnt to do Granny Squares thanks to videos and a great friend who has the patience of a saint. I’m going away for a break soon and wanted a project to do, this will be perfect, all I need to do is go through my stash and sort out some colours thank you so much 😊😊
What a great explanation! And what a supernice result! It looked so difficult, but with your supergood advices (and very nice voice also), i learned so much! Thank you!
Can you show more crochet ideas for bag straps. Love the scallops. Love your tutorials they are great. I just learned crochet watching tutorials. Love your tutorials cause I sew and you do both. I love that .❤️❤️❤️😁😁Love your granny square tutorials too. Keep them coming I love watching.
I’ve been making my first ever granny squares while waiting for you to publish this video. Took all my yarn on a recent road trip and I made 13! You were not kidding, they are so addicting 😂. Your tote is cuter than I imagined! 🥰 Just need to block my squares then I can put my bag together. Thank you so much for fabulous tutorials. Much love!
Just completed joining my 13 squares after blocking them. Now to start the single crochet edging before the handle. If not for your great and easy to follow tutorial, I would still be figuring out which type of bag handle to do. This, by far, suits this type of tote. Thanks so much Erica!
Oh Erica. Another easy to follow fabulous tutorial. This tutorial is super easy to follow. My daughter was only asking me to make one of these crochet bags. I hadn’t a clue how to start . Following super easy instructions I can make this bag for her thank you.x
just finished it as a gift for my mom. she loved it, took me around 4 days to finish it but your tutorial is super clear and easy to follow and I am so happy the way it turned out. thank you so much
This little bag turned out so pretty, there so many things a person could use it for all kinds of things carry it along with your next project. I’ll have to get my granddaughter to watch you, I know she love it. I live to far for them to visit me. My daughter used to go visit them and she always had a bag of crafts To teach her, she loved it. One year I went with her it was getting close to Christmas, anyway we had Her and her brother to paint their hand and hold the Christmas bulb, so they had their hand on it and Made a snowman with their name and date on each one, they were so cute and they take it out every year to decorate their tree ,each one has a tree in their room,to decorate. Once her learns to crochet She’ll make all kinds of things. I really enjoy watching you.I’m sure she will love it. Thanks for sharing 👍
This crocheted tote is so pretty. Before my daughter was born, I started to crochet a granny square baby blanket with pastel coloured centres, and all around were to be white. Unfortunately I never finished them and it was so long ago I can’t remember why I didn’t. I guess I wasn’t passionate about it 🤷🏻♀️. My daughter is 41 now, and eventually I gave it all away. I wonder if it was ever finished 😏
I love this tutorial! Last time i did the 13 grannys and Today i begin to get my bag done. Thank you for this. IT is very easy to follow your instructions. 😊💟
This tutorial is so beautiful. You are very clear and concise in your instruction. I can't wait to get started. I love all things granny and have made many granny items. Is there any way you could include how to make an lining for the bag? Thank you!
Thank you Erica for this crocheting video. You are a super teacher!! Your directions and demonstrations are spot on! I hope that you will do more crocheting videos. I also enjoy your sewing videos. I have learned so much with sewing and crocheting through your videos! Thank you again!!!
I am so happy I stumbled across your tutorial. I am in love with this bag. I want to commend you on your way of showing how to put this together. I feel like it is very beginner friendly (1st bag I have made) The importance of nailing this is I have started doing craft shows and I know this will be a hit. I also love how you gave different options on the sewing techniques. I am definitely going to be looking at more of your tutorials!
Love love love this bag Have been working on granny squares the edges are different colors so will have to see together with same thread as the strap Great video can’t wait to finish this and I will do another for me with the same color bordering each granny square Really well instructed
Awesome job with the granny squares, I love the bag, I will follow along and make one for myself. I enjoyed all your tutorials, thank you for all your hard work
Thank you so much for the video! I'm so glad most everyone else's project came out great. Mine, not so much. I needed more instruction on starting and finishing the inside of the handle.
Oh okay, just make a slip-knot and then stick that through one of the stitches, yarn over your hook and pull a loop through the stitch and through your slip-knot. Then you're joined and ready to start single crochets for the inside of the handle.
Wonderful tutorial! Super easy to follow. I am newer to crochet, I started at the beginning of the year and I am slowly expanding what I crochet. Thank you for this super cute and easy granny square bag.
Erica, I'm just so grateful for your crochet video's. Your explanation is so easy to follow, you do it nice and slow ❤ I have to give it a try. I'm soooo happy I found your❤ channel. Thanks again. 😊
You are a genius what a fantastic piece of artwork! thank you for the humble way you share your skills and talents and the way you make it feel accessible to all levels. I reckon as a home schooler your children will be in Harvard when they grow up :)
Thank you Erica you are an excellent teacher this is the first time I can learn how to do granny squares. Can’t wait to start squares and make bag Waiting for yarn from Fat quarters Thank you again
I just finished making this beautiful bag. Unfortunately I ran out yarn so did the handle as a different colour and it turned out great. Thank you much for the pattern. I'm sure the person I'm gifting to will love it ❤️
Erica, this was a fantastic video!!! I’m not a prolific crocheter, by any means, but I’ve been crocheting for over 50 years (yikes! 😬) since I was a little girl, and I’ve never seen anybody do such a clear and concise demonstration on how to crochet granny squares together!!! Ever! I’ve actually been working on a granny square afghan recently, and I thought you were supposed to go through BOTH loops of the front and back squares. I couldn’t figure out why it looked so dopey. And it wasn’t just me! That’s how the original pattern writer did it too, and I also thought theirs didn’t look quite tight, either! You did a better job than Lori Holt (😂) whose videos I’ve also watched recently. And not only did you do a close up on 3 techniques, but it was ever so much more helpful when you used a contrasting color to demonstrate. I think the mattress technique looks the most invisible, but is also the most time consuming and fiddly. My next fave was the crochet together method, as it was also next to invisible. Thank you, so, so much, for doing this, as well as showing how to make this adorable tote bag. You also showed how to do the valleys, which I also never saw before and also the details of the handle, how not to twist them and the pretty scalloped edging. What a lovely little project. I now want to find and watch your granny square tutorial bc I’m sure you’ll have other helpful tip’s in there! Thank you again! 🌷
I know how to make granny square I made 9 will do more I also think I can attach the granny squares to make bag but I don’t understand the bag upper holding part still I need more practice will save this video for later when I buy white yarn I loved the color you used beautiful it’s nice combination

Thank you Erica. I'm definitely making this. My squares are all done. Just need to sew them together. I plan on lining the bag. I may put thin leather straps on instead of crochet.
