We don't waste anything around here...been doing it for decades.

My mom just moved into a senior apartment and insisted that I take lots of her things she would no longer use. I found an odd-looking gadget that was clearly antique. It had one end sort of like a tea ball, but much bigger. I asked her what it was. She explained that when she was a kid , 80 years ago, the only soap they had was bar soap - no liquid soap. They saved their small pieces of soap and put them in the big tea ball end. Her job was doing the dishes, and she would swish this gadget in the hot water to make suds to wash the dishes. I just had to have this- I loved the story and how practical the gadget is.
