I never thought this old video of mine will blow up and after reading so many comments, I would like to address some things:
WHY DOES THE SOAP HARDENS AFTER IT COOLS DOWN?
The number one mistake I did on this video is, I should have added MORE WATER. Maybe add 2 more cups to keep it from hardening
WHY DO I NEED GLYCERIN?
The purpose of adding glycerin (based on what I search on google) is it helps softens the base of soap, making it turn into liquid. So yes you need it to make a liquid soap
BUT you can still make one without glycerin. I tried it before and it really depends on the soap you use. It works well with soaps that are easy to melt
WHY NOT JUST BUY IT INSTEAD?
To save up money and reduce the waste. Before I hardly see stores selling refills, they always come in bottles. And if u keep buying that, it will eventually pile up.
And I think the main reason this video blow up so much, is because of the brief shortage of liquid soaps and hand sanitizers last year. Making everyone turn to DIY videos on youtube

@@kristinas5714 I think it would range from x3 - x5 depending on the exact composition of your bar soap. There's no exact recipe without knowing what kind of bar soap we get. I think trials and errors are unavoidable.

I tried doing this ...with santhoor soap .but post cooling the soap get solidify again ....tried adding more water still is getting harden ... Why it is not working out for me?
Try using safeguard or another brand of soap of its kind

they're the same thing and yes you can skip that part its optional
@@Maridolli What is the purpose for the added glycerin if the bar soap usually contains glycerin? Does it make a difference?
@@emmel4fun That's just it. There is very little if any glycerin left in the commercial soap. When soap is made large scale in the industry, the glycerin in it is removed and sold separately to be used for lotions.
This calls for about half a bar of soap, right?
What does the glycerin do?
Probably keeps it from separating from the water depending on the soap formula ie. More oil or hydrating stuff

Glycerin is a soap ingredient its also the most basic pore and melt kinds of soap bars for making soap bars at home

What sort of preservative can one use that is also easily available? Do you think olive oil will work? Im new to this so don't have much idea about it.

You're supposed to blend with hand blender and add water. I also made it that way when mine solidified

@@MishaAisyah not sure? Dont recall how or why i stumbled on it. But still. Why not use bar soap of get it in liquid form first? Whom ever loves liquid soap probably wouldn’t have bar soap at all. And if all you have is bar soap, why waste time transforming it? Its soap. It does the same thing in solid or liquid. Just sayin.
@@petealbertson3930 some people are less fortunate than u sir. bar soaps are much more cheaper yet theyre less convenient. this is one of the alternatives to avoid the bar soaps from melting/sweating in containers. be mindful of others please
@@MishaAisyah i mean no disrespect. I but my 30oz liquid soap at dollar tree. These other things, (many of which i do not have, cost more than a dollar). And the time it takes, more than $1’s worth if time. And if i had bar soap (me personally) and often do, would use it as is. Just saying

A little loud but fine for the video.
There's a MUTE button on the bottom bar of the video. The one that looks like a speaker. Click on it, it will get a diagonal bar, means muted. Click on it again to restore sound. You can also turn sound up or down on that same symbol.
