- I've reviewed my very first American muscle car! Here is the 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang. Find out my thoughts on America's newest weapon in their fight against Europe's finest driver's cars. I tell you all about the driving experience and compare it with two of my favorite driving experiences of 2016, the Porsche GT4 and the BMW M2. This Mustang is something else.

my favorite review on the GT350 so far. good job. this car is a work of engineering unlike camaros
Did you not see the Motor Trend review on how the Gen 6 Camaro SS being faster than an M3/4 in a straight line, around a track, and along with day to day driving. The Camaro also gives you a track warranty, something you can't get from almost any other manufacture especially at the 40k price point. The mustang is great but the Camaro is still ahead at the moment.

Car Consumer but the new camaro ss is faster. The old z28 was raped by the gt350R as well. Even the GT350 is a beyond special car than any camaro available right now. Ford will improve the mustangs performance later on with their 5.0 yall realized that the new camaro us newer so yeah it's obviously faster.

+Car Consumer you can't go by motor trend. you and me and everybody knows the camaro sucks big time, and to make it even worse they make it look like a 2 door Malibu

Nicely done review, thanks for your insights. I think what is really amazing is that Ford appears have built a car with a much more pure, driver focused driving experience than say the M4 BMW coupe, for instance. That car has and it's M3 predecessors have long been considered by many a benchmark in sports GT's. And they compare with the GT350 more directly in size, utility and price.
Not to mention the GT350's prodigious performance capability. Good on ya Blue Oval guys!
I'd have to agree with you there. Between the E92 M3 and the GT350 I'd have a harder time deciding which I'd prefer. But between the M4 and the GT350, it's the Shelby for me. The engine alone would seal the deal.
Best gt350 review I've watched yet, including from the major publications. Loved the twisty driving bit with just the exhaust note in between the review bits.

I've had the Shelby GT350 Track Pack for 6 months both on and off the track it's fantastic. I'm a Porsche guy at heart but incredible car. Very nice review.

This car is amazing,I would say one of the most unique cars in the world that you can buy today.Everything about it,the N/A/manual/probably the best sounding stock exhaust system in a car. There's nothing like it,just a overall spectacular machine.

I don't know why you don't have more subscribers. Maybe it's because you're actually a good driver, detailed and informing, and know what your talking about, unlike a ton of other youtubers, who like to make "vlogs" about cars and their "car drifting (or not) life."

The production mix of audio and camera/video is very solid, also, so kudos to your production crew. I'm local to you, would love to offer you some of my retro iron to test in the future: E30 325iX, Z3 M Coupe, even 1991 Honda Prelude that I found eye-opening--like a 7/8th front-drive NSX.
Wish you well with the new online project, I know these things can be a lot of work and effort. Maybe we will cross paths one day. You should consider doing a trip/segment down to Laguna Seca for the annual MX5/Miata-fest each year in early October. I've already pegged the 128i as arguably the last true old-school BMW that can really trace its lineage back to the 70s--horribly overlooked currently, but likely to be sought after before much longer.

One of the best review on YT for GT350. I have 2019 GT350 it drives even better than 2016. BTW 911 GT4 is $136K vs GT350 in comparison is $65K.

I just made a 2,000 mile jaunt from New York to Georgia and back in my own Track Pack GT350. George at MGW Shifters installed his first GT350 shifter in my '16 and wow - a great car is even better now. I flew through the mountains in West Virginia like I was floating on rails, banging shifts the way it was meant to be done, on one of the most enjoyable drives I've ever had. While down on power compared to my last GT500, the car more than makes up for it with its massive braking power and fast acting magnetic dampers. The GT350 is without a doubt the best factory performance Mustang to date. Good job Ford!

I forgot to ask... How are the seats in the GT350 vs the LWBS in the GT4?
Thanks for your kind words! I agree with you that this seems to be THE American car to own at the moment. As for the seats, unfortunately they don't hold me the way the LWBs do in the GT4. They are a decent pair of chairs, but don't really feel right for my body. I think a bigger guy would fit them better.

love your comparison to the e39 m5... currently that's what im driving right now and I love when people compare a true driver's car to the beast... your so right when you said "golden era of bmw", even though bmw has greatly advanced in their technology nothing really comes close to the feel of the e39/e46. I collect my new Shelby GT350 in two weeks and am coming from a 2014 BMW M5. I totally agree that the Shelby feels very like the E39 M5, which I had back in 2003. That's why I bought the Shelby as I believe the E39 was the best M5 there was.

My favorite review of the gt350...and it seems to be so closely compared to the gt4 and the m2, im almost looking forward to a gt350R review! Which is even more track ready, But thats an even rarer car than the 350, great review thank you

nice work - good commentary and feedback. I drove the Focus RS here in the UK and was very disappointed with how artificial it felt.
Oh too bad. I've been really looking forward to trying the Focus RS.
Well. Bear in mind it's fine on nice open smooth tarmac, but on a bumpy british B road it was clumsy - the Fiesta ST much more engaging on our back roads.
Great review.
Despite being from europe, prefer this car over other two any day, cause its still quite rare here and i like the size + naturally aspirated V8.

Awesome review, the cinematography is great for a small channel! All your videos clearly show that you know what you're talking about. As a british+japanese myself and also a BMWfanboy, I have to agree with you, most european cars aren't as exciting as they use to be since the E90 M3 CRT. From lower-revving downsized-turbocharging, electric-power steering, to manuals that have rev-match function, its distancing the driver & car connection. But its refreshing to see cars like your GT4, GT350, 911R and 2017MY 7spd dogleg V12 Vantage S that all have naturally aspirated high revving engines mated to a 3 pedal manual. Car emissions aren't the only reason to global warming so it frustrates me that we're seeing fewer and fewer of these 'purist' cars.
I totally agree with your assessment. I think we can have purist cars without having lots of power. I wish Porsche would build a 911R type of car without the GT3RS engine, without the aeros and the grip. Just apply the suspension and steering and purist feely touchy unfitered bits to a base Carrera or a Carrera S and make it more affordable. They COULD make a car like this, but they won't.

You have to see, that a porsche 911 or somethings similar does just Cost more
however an amazing car!
You should try to get your hands on a 17 Camaro SS 1LE. Outstanding car.
You blur up the speed but you must know that they can always measure the distance and the time... Very nice review tho! :)
They can. Anything is possible if someone is determined enough! You'd have to go there in person and actually measure the distance though, assuming you are sure it's the same road and no changes have been made to it since.
They always can assume whatever they like to but I hope the won't. Take care.

Great reviews man! and Im picky. Could you be more specific on the steering feel? I test drove the GT with the performance package an the steering feels detached from the front wheels. Very responsive, goes where you turn, but no feeling.
Hi Edison. Unfortunately that is a trait of almost all electric assist steering systems. Just something you'll have to put up with if you want a modern car. The Porsche GT cars fair better but they are the exception. Even they aren't as feelsome as they used to be when everything was hydraulic.

word to the wise.. For all new GT350 owners.. GEt your car current (new car) alignment specs. Best to get it from Ford, but if they dont provide you can take your car to an alignment shop to get the current specs of the car. DO NOT LET THEM DO AN ALIGNMENT just retrieve what the cars current specs, VERY VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE FOR FUTURE USE!. When the time comes that you need new wheels or rims your standard alignment shop may not have ShelbyGT350 alignment specs, specs tuned on the nurburgring and thats the truth! you dont want them aligning your car with standard mustang or even Boss 302 specs, not the same resulting in less performance. Also with white paint (nailpolish) mark off the current position aand location of your caster camber plates, steering rack and tie rods location. all worth doing in case of part replacement.
So they don't publish the current specs for the GT350? Am I understanding this right?
possibly so, my point is for the buyers to aquire those specs and keep them for future reference. because the car will eventuall need new tires new suspension etc, and if you dont stick with the same exact setup and have it installed at certified ford dealers other shops and dealers very well may use specs not suited for the car. keep in mind its not like a normal mustang so none of those normal Spec tunings will work well for car. tuning for the track is very different than normal street tuning. night and day. they spent months at the nurburing getting the tuning just rite, your local tuning shop will not guess what the car is suppose to have. trust me ive been down that road before with my saleen. people dont realise what a few degrees off in camber and toe therate of the spings and dampers truely translate into what you feel.

how about a SS Camaro 2016, vs GT350 Mustang no one has done it because they know the mustang will get spanked even though the mustang cost 12k more. Anyone who pays 85k+ for a Cayman GT4 that is slow compared to a Z06 for 80k only is buying a name or a look. if performance is not a concern and you liked the look of the gt4 then i understand. good review gave you a thumbs up.
