I very much admire the fantastic loose paintings of watercolour artists such as, Edward Wesson, Edward Seago, Ron Ranson, Joseph Zbukvic, Herman Pekel, Alvaro Castagnet, Sergey Temerev and many, many more.

Great to watch, so interesting and so many times I would have been happy to stop there … but it kept getting better. The music felt so dystopian to me that I had to turn it off!
Thanks for watching. Sorry about the music
Terrible music. WHY?
Thanks for your lovely comment
Ehere can we get such a little spray bottle. It really works well! Thank you
Hi Sarah. It’s an eye mist spray bottle that I re-used
Thank you so much 😊 Excellent. And wonderful technique !!!
@@saraht4973 You’re welcome!! Thank you for watching 😊
Good video, but awful music.
Thanks. Turn the sound off 😃👍
This shows the value of sticking with it! I would like this style very much and I've discovered that you can get to a point where you think it's completely ruined and still save it. It's not that you've gone too far, it's that you haven't gone far enough!
I think most paintings in this style go through an “ugly” stage. You need to have faith in your original vision.
magic to watch thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!!
It's very beautiful. I do some similar pieces. I'm always told they are impressionistic because the subject is obvious. True abstract art leaves the subject to remain a mystery.
Thanks, Vince. I suppose it depends in your viewpoint whether a painting is “impressionistic” “realistic” “abstract” etc…
This is an interesting quote from Robert Bissett…. “All paintings are abstract. Some abstract paintings also have pictorial representation or narrative content, but in essence they are first and foremost abstract because we have only paint.”
- Robert Bissett
Cool! Not sure I’m brave enough to try this! Love Escher too! Happy new year!
Thanks Marc. Give it a try, the trick is to let paint go where it wants and turn it into something. Happy New Year to you !!
Yes, please try it. Remember, it's just a piece of paper; you have nothing to lose ... ❤
Wonderful, love the end results. Love this card and spray bottle work!
Thanks Wendy. It’s a fun technique
Yes watching!, really interesting. Yes music awful, had to turn it off! Noticed other felt same :)
Glad you liked the painting, sorry you didn’t like the music 😊
@@ChrisStephenArt hi yes new to W colour and found this interesting ! Nice misty picture. Music , well at least could turn sound down :) lol
@@MsVivian99 This is one of my older videos. My newest are more lesson based with voiceover.
I don't know what it is with content creators these days, they seem obsessed with spoiling otherwise excellent videos with the most annoying 'music'! Has YT instructed them all that they must play music or what? I am getting really fed up with them all doing it. So many talented artists, but they are spoiling their content with the noise inflicted on the eardrums. I might have to just stick with the SAA's art videos instead.
@melaniebaynes2730 To be fair, not every video can be made to please everyone. If it helps, my most recent video has no music at all, just my voice. Also, you can always turn the volume down. Happy painting 😊
Great way to paint our local marsh! Thank you for sharing!
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching
Horrible music, but nice content. I’m subscribing!
@@fbales Haha! Thanks. This is an old video, my newer videos have commentary and no music.
Wouldn't the nearby palette knife work just as well?
No, not really. A palette knife has a sharper edge
I like to watch and learn but the music is annoying when you can't turn it off
@@sharonshulik3376 Sorry you didn’t like the music. You could have turned the volume down 😊
Fabulous! Must have a go - Thanks
Thanks Maureen. It’s great fun, use plenty of water and let the paint go where it wants !!
,mahigana by enrage.
Very beautiful work. It was like a suspense movie, I was terrified yet at the same time I wanted to stay back and see what happens.
Thanks. It’s a fun technique. You never really know what you’re going to end up with

Thanks for watching 🥰 Turn the sound off 😂
Amazing! You are very talented
Thanks very much
Is it only me but I expected a serial killer to jump out somewhere...
Wow!! 😂
Very nice
Thanks Adam !!
In my view that is just brilliant and a great painting too. 👍🏼
Thanks Dave
I want to thank you for the spare environment, it’s helpful for my concentration. I also appreciate the less rigorous actions than some with this style. When I try this it seems like I am not doing it right because I am not rough enough…..thanks.
You’re welcome, Deborah. Thank you for your lovely comment
Beautiful!!!
Thanks Carolina 😊
Great work. Before the painting was first dried it looked good, but l would have been disappointed with how it dried and not know what to do with it.
Thanks Mark. With this type of painting I’ll often dry it and see what it looks like. If it needs “something” I just re-wet it and go again until I’m happy. Half the fun is not fully knowing what it’s going to look like until the end
@@ChrisStephenArt sure, l tend not to have the paint thick enough, then it dries far too light
@@markleeks1116 Try using it straight out of the tube. Just wet the paper a little to allow the paint to flow
So atmospheric - I love this.
Thanks so much
Beautiful very interesting!
Thank you very much
I LOVE your style!
Thanks so much
Looks like a hot mess

Have you gained from this technique, which is random to say the least in this medium?
Love people who experiment in Art
@@bossman1774 Yes, of course. I gain something with every painting, good or bad. Experimentation is the key to progression
