I just found your channel.. new sub! Loved your painting and awesome choice of music. Looking forward to watching your other videos👩🎨👩🌾🐴. Idaho
Hi, Lisa. Glad you found the channel and thanks so much for the sub !!
Do you pre-stretch your paper before taping? I have used a few different 100% 140 lb cold press, both in a glue pad and taped out, and when I do a heavy wet in wet like this I get enough buckling that it affects the paint flow.
I rarely stretch my paper, I don’t have the organisational skills to do it hours before I want to paint !!
I’m not usually too worried by paper buckling. It did buckle slightly on this one, it can sometimes work to my advantage, creating accidental shapes for the clouds. I suppose it depends on what you’re trying to achieve
Beautiful! Can you tell me please what tape you use?
@@suecalvi9862 Thanks. I use masking tape
Muy bueno. Millford no es para cualquiera, hay que ganárselo! ;-)
Gracias. es un gran papel
Neutral tint? Black? Paynes Grey?
All the colours are listed at the start of the video. I used Gamboge, Light Red, Ultramarine and Neutral Tint.
New to painting. I don't what neutral tint is. haha. Or is it called neutral tint?
Great as ever! I’m listening to Turner’s biography on my morning commute at present. Fascinating stuff! Thanks!
Thanks Marc. I’m currently reading a book on Turner’s techniques. So much to learn !!
Hi :) Which biography is it?

Great sky. You showed a lot of patience letting the water and paint do their thing. I don't know where this video fits into the thread of your work--have seen some vids with the ink, but this seems like it could be a precursor with the dark colours threading their way across the sky. This also made me wonder if you've ever tried mixing the white India ink with your paint? I'm planning to check that out myself when I get the chance to sit down to it next.
Thanks Nancy. I haven’t tried the white ink, but that’s a great idea mixing it with paint. I may have to give that a try!!
Hiya Christopher, Loved it thanks very much, from a new subscriber in Lancashire.

Thanks Cheryl 😊
Absolutely Amazing👏
Thank you so much 😊
I love everything about this vidoe.
Thanks so much
What a fabulous stormy sky!
Narration would help.
I don't think narration would be helpful. It seems clear to me it's about managing pigment and flow and l don't feel words would add anything. I also liked that he showed exactly which colours were used and how they were blended together. ❤
This is simply amazing! 🤩
Super trabajo, excelentes tonos!
Thank you

ZEN and the art of watercolor painting! Beautiful work! And another musician I am glad to follow now! Thanks for your post Christopher!
Thanks Adam. Jesse Gallagher’s music is pretty cool. I think your tracks would have been nice for this vid too, I tried to work out how to “rip” them from UA-cam, without success, I’m not great at computer tech !!
@@ChrisStephenArt Oh no worries, I'm not trolling you! Ha ha. I will see if I can get a file to you. What format would you prefer? I am on a Mac.
@@adamburke7745 I know you’re not a troll !! 🤣 I’m always happy to collaborate with a fellow creator. I think probably mp3, but whatever you have is fine. There should be an email address on my website. Thanks Adam
😪Well, not the best stormy sky
have a look at Lois Davidson
Haha!! Each to their own. I know Lois well, I don’t copy other peoples work.
😴 Most gratuitously unkind and unhelpful comment l think l've ever read.
Controlled chaos. Beautiful
Thank you very much. A wonderful comment, perfect description of the process !!
