Knappogue Castle 12yr is a great find and not often talked about. Typically $50-70 price range too.

Love Redbreast but sadly haven’t had the cask strength release. It’s the distiller that made me realize Irish Whisky is really good. Also enjoy the Spot Irish Whisky’s. You’ve given me some new bottles to try to find. Thanks.

Red Breast cs is an absolutely amazing pour, even for the price. The best Irish I’ve had outside of blue spot.
West Cork makes some very interesting Irish whiskeys as well. I love their barrel/cask strength stuff. Have you had their stuff Jay?

So you’re telling me I need to pull the trigger on the $699 Redbreast 27 at Total Wine now? 😂

You can get it overseas cheaper. Under $600 including shipping. And it’s a newer batch.

Far too many competitors in the whisky/whiskey space; and I’m just too whisky curious to even consider spending $500 on a single bottle. I’ve a few bottles in the $200 to $300 range and as good as they can be, we are well inside diminishing returns territory. Great stuff? Absolutely. But cost always increases faster than taste enjoyment.
If you don’t know much about whisky, then take it as a rule of thumb that the lions share of excellent whisky can be found in the $50 to $100 range with some great value for money examples less than $50.

The RB27 Batch 3 has an interesting grapefruit note on the palate and finish. I didn’t really get it on the nose, but the acidity brings it out.
My favorite Irish is the Midleton Dair Ghaelach. That $350 price point that seemed ridiculously high is now a steal and by the time the next release comes out, it will no doubt be north of $500.

I was lucky enough to pick up a Red Breast 27 for $550.00. I really didn't want to pay that much, but prices don't go down, just up.

Hey Jay! Now that you say it, I was looking up to buy a bottle of RB 27 on Florida these week, but it is already at $700 there (In TotalWine to be precise), but for $70 more, I think I'll go with the Glendronach 29 YO Single Cask, sadly it got super expensive before I could get one

I'm thinking with ya on that Glendronach!

Batch 4 is not the newest batch of redbreast 27. Maybe the newest in the States. But I just got a batch 5 in from the UK this week

I love the Spots but they've already been pushed far past the point where their price makes any sense... and it's only going to get worse? No. Just... no. There's too much good whiskey out there that isn't taking the piss.

Whiskey is misspelt in the thumbnail. That's the spelling for Scotch!
