Excellent instructions.. I think we call the retaining knot a thumb knot here (Australia).. we also found that putting a small screwdriver sideways through the knot helped keep the elastic in place while rethreading the poles :)
Does anyone have a video on repairing ferrules? There seems to be a lot on fixing the poles, but I could only find one on repairing ferrules, and he just cut it in half.

Thanks so much from South Australia, clear instructions I repaired two lengths with ease no frustration.
Thanks mate from South Africa...back to the bush.
This video was a great help, thank you.
Pity he doesn't show the cord stop knot detail. Somehow he managed to undo it simply.
Seems like a simple slip not might do the trick.
Brilliant thanks straight to the point 👍
If you have trouble threading the cord back through the poles, an old guitar string with one end bent into a hook does the job.
Need a guide for snapped fiberglass pole on pop up tent
Thanks a million, fantastic.

Great - if I hadn’t just bought a tent from Blacks and had a pole break on the 3rd time we put it up.. no winds or other extreme weather either 🙄
easy when you know how lol
whats a check knot when its at home ? and how do you tie one. this video is useless as it assumes too much. absurd.
It's a slip knot I assume
Same thing it is when it's out
