I've been fooling around with my headlights for a week! If I had watched this video first it would have been a 10 minute job. I really appreciate your work.
I have a 1979 C30 Chev pickup that my father-in- law hauled used tires in the 1980’s. I am 68 and have been restoring it for the last couple of years. It has the full floating 1 ton rear axle with brake shoes . Two tone blue paint . Relocating the gas tank to the rear. Nice vehicle . I also like the original grill even though it is plastic. You do videos. Thanks for sharing your skills and knowledge.
Great tip on working on squarebody grill using right screws & bolts I wanted see those new lights on when u finished also I mess flat front look then the original also does process work on 89- early 99 GM pickup.
The nuts holding the mldgs to the grille are called Pal Nuts. There are several types of Pal Nuts. I believe Pal Nuts hold the turn signal assemblies on also.
The old billet grille might look pretty good with a modern twist - Actually put a chevy logo in the middle. Nobody back then did that, and some of us thought that looked bad even then.
Wow, good question... to be honest we don't know the answer. Our first inclination would be to say yes, but if it has a single headlamp now then there is probably a reason for it. Chances are it's not possible.
If youre changing headlight adjusters DO NOT use the dorman ones from the parts store. They wont fit correctly. Instead use auveco part number AP11826. (The new green ones in the video are correct) They are identical to factory.
Thats kinda hot bullshit that these dont come with all the parts. I just ordered this set only to realise I gave spend 3 times the amount to get the finished product. I mean, how the fuck is someone supposed to order those expand-o-nuts or whatever they are? What are you supposed to search for? Then to have to wait another 2 weeks and hope like hell you got the right ones? Then all the trim. Why wouldn't those parts and that logo come in the kit? Doesn't that just seem like more of a piss off than a project? I know one thing is for sure is that Im not happy about having to spend 300 percent more than expected just to play a guessing game. These kits should be complete as the term "kit" suggests.
The new grill looks great. Really glad that stock looking parts are available. Great job.

Very good tips on a job most would just rush thru and the grille would be crooked and rattling. Thanks David, truck looks like new!

Yessir you are correct!
And for some unknown reason GM used decided to use one to hold part of the heater box in.
Great video 👍
Awesome channel !

when ya order new headlight adjusters, you can get them with the new screws included. No need ta keep the rusty ones.
Any videos on replacing grille trim?? 81-82” GMC
I have an 87 Chevy truck c20 with a single headlight you can put a dual headlight
On the same grille mounting

I've got a '79...how universal are the bow tie grills?
Basically, if you have the same number and shape headlights then you can swap.
Those "fog lights" are your turn signals.
CAN AN 84 FRT END AND GRILL BE PUT ON A 74 C10 WILL THEY INTERCHANGE ?
Dave has cool hair, I wish I had Dave’s hair.
Don't we all!
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV Dave seems like a fun good guy.
Cant beat the factory grill imho.
Am i able to swap out my grill on my 1975 K5 for a 73 grill?
Yes
@@BROTHERSTruckPartsTV is it bolt on or will i need to replace anything?
@@armygreenfj3924 It's been a while since we messed with one, but we're 99% certain it will just bolt-in.
Great commercial lol 😂
I hate side trim on the 4x4 and like the oldschool grill on 4x4 also the original don't look bad but not as good as the oldschool aftermarket grills
