Perfect, I have been looking for a video just in this subject. Thank you. Now I want to use some left over cone 10 clay for these because I'll be firing mostly with cone 6 clay
Brilliant! Do you make different sizes of drip catchers based on what size vessel you are using them for? For example, if I wanted to fire mugs and larger vases, does the inner ring have to be sized so that it is close to the base diameter of the vessel? Thanks!
Would you by chance have an idea how to fire a spoon which is glazed all over? I thought about hanging it somehow. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I would prefer not to use stilts as they leave a mark.
Yeah, that's really clever. But screw throwing. Were I to do this, I'd slab roll a big wad, and then use a couple circular cookie cutters to make the shape, and a small pair to put the upraised donut in the middle. Done.
You are always thinking, ‘is there a better way?’ Love it.
Yep, I enjoy that part as much as the actual making!
I love how you have a genius solution for literally everything
That last photo is a good visual. These are definitely worth the time and effort to make.
Definitely. I wish I'd done them from the very start, my kiln shelves would be much prettier!
(Moira Ashton) I find these videos so interesting, I only found them today, and I LOVE all your different T shirts, 🤩😍🥰
You have so many smart ideas, thank you for sharing them!
Happy to share! These are all things I wish I'd known sooner
Great video on tips and tricks. Thanks👍

Great help! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you - you are awesome.
I was wondering what to throw today,. Now I know.
Thanks
Brilliant!
Fantastic idea, I've been thinking about how to do this, thank you
Thanks so much x
Such a handy video! Do you reuse the drip catchers through multiple kiln runs if they haven't caught any glaze?
Yep. They'll eventually bloat or crack, but you should be able to get quite a few firings out of them first
Neat!!

Absolutely. I throw them in a range of sizes and pick an appropriate size for each piece

Experimental Fuser Thanks!
Hi ,so helpful thanks. Are these bisque fired or high fired before 1st use?
I just bisque mine before using them, I don't think there would be any advantage to firing higher
@@OldForgeCreations thank you so much

Is there a specific recipe you use for these?? And would you mind sharing?
How much clay ru using for the “cookies?”
Do you put kiln wash on them?
I don't bother, but some people do
